Make room, make room, Frankie has the dance floor! That's the one I've been waiting for - great job man, awesome "journey" through different angles and perspectives, stellar flying, I thoroughly enjoyed watching that - thanks! -

John Barresi replied to John Barresi's topic in Scheduled Events
Had a ton of fun with Dylan, Cardin and papa Khanh today (mama @P.V. Nguyen observing)... Plenty of work in light and variable wind, but lots learned - I couldn't ask for more on a first day. -

Making Your Own Kite Lines (How do you do that?)
John Barresi replied to Reef Runner's topic in Adjustments and Modifications
Sometimes problems like this are unavoidable, even as a "pro" I take all kinds of measures to avoid issues but still get yahoos driving through my lines (with real cars)... Hopefully rare, but it happens. http://www.revkites.net/forum/topic/2509-obliviots/ -

Making Your Own Kite Lines (How do you do that?)
John Barresi replied to Reef Runner's topic in Adjustments and Modifications
Indeed @P.V. Nguyen - there really is no wrong length... Since we have urban clinics together soon we can have the boys try both 30' and 40' to feel the differences, it'll be easy enough to adjust for taste. Worst case, 40' cut down makes approximately a 30' set (urban) and 10' set (indoor). -
Thanks, but never let me hold you back.

Stock, and ready to rock. Kymera, $225 value! This package includes kite, removable weights and kite sleeve! NOTE: Primary color of the kite in this drawing is RED, with WHITE and GREY. -- Click here to become a KiteLife Subscriber -- Odds of winning are currently 1/350, drawing will be on August 25th, 2016! Our thanks, and the very best of luck to all of you...

WTB pretty much any beginner stunt kite
John Barresi replied to Happyspoon's topic in Kites for Sale, Swap or Trade
Spectra or Skybond lines are worth their weight in gold, will improve ANY kite significantly. Bad lines (dacron, dynamo, etc) can easily make a good kite feel like crap. -
Smallest functional kite for trick flying?
John Barresi replied to Happyspoon's topic in Trick Flying
Smallest I've been able to trick well on is the "Jump" by Level One, not made anymore I think. Shrink your movements enough and its capable of Jacob's Ladder, roll ups, Cascade, Comete, you name it... All on a wingspan of about 3' or so. Such a great little kite, I bought two. -
My max wind to date is 65mph, full vent factory B with double 4 wrap leading edge and 150# lines. Everything (even forward flight) was a controlled hover, one burst of speed and VOOOOOM! Big load up. I also tend to sit up to an inch lower on the foam so the main pull is centered off in my fingers (less surges).
