Hi, sorry for the delay on responding... Generally comes with the mounted weight on the spine, plus two optional "ring" style weights for the keel. As for application... http://kitelife.com/kl-archive/issue-44-weight-basics-and-control/ IntoTheWind.com should be able to sell you extra weights if needed. Hope that helps? Whew! Now we're in good company! Really, an honor to have you on the forum Josh - been a good while coming.

I'm exploring styles of knot covers, its on the list! Will think on it, definitely a valuable service but I'm not sure we're inclined to open up dirty kites and rebuild in our shop - our offerings will probably be limited to addon type stuff.

I just took a factory B full vent and added the LE tabs (final layout), wear strips and a second straight stitch along the trailing edge... I'm happy with the end result (my sewing could still improve) and am looking forward to putting it through its paces in some serious wind - not quite a PRO, but it should last a hell of a lot longer than the stock setup - I'll let y'all know. After TK and I have done several more kites like this, I think we'll actually start offering these basic upgrades as a service here on the website for anyone who doesn't want to bother with doing it themselves.

No bitter taste, just not my style - Blast, et al are in the same category for me - just too slippery in the air (for what I enjoy). Sent from my iPhone using KiteLife mobile app

One of our dearest friends on earth passed away last night... One of the last true "wordsmiths", Dave Shattuck (aka Geezer) is forever a part of my own soul's "panel of wisdom", a character that I will continue to draw insight and perspective from until my own end of days. We connected through KiteLife Magazine in early 2003 when I was running it out of a little studio apartment in Portland and he was sharing a house with several folks in the Seattle area... Long, long chats through the night found us sharing many passions and eventually led to his moving to Portland to share a house (and later an apartment) with me - I couldn't even begin to count the hours we put in together, working on the magazine, traveling and solving the world's problems over coffee and smokes out on the porch. One of the most prolific authors in our pages, he loved kites, he loved all the different ways people express themselves with kites, treasured its history and was still working on kite history projects in his final months. Some of his writing for the magazine... https://kitelife.com/author/dave-shattuck/ When he asked "how are you", he meant it. When he said "take care of yourself", he meant it. Given even a small opportunity, he had the depth of soul to go out of his way to vocally recognize and celebrate someone's unique qualities and do what he could to be sure they saw it for themselves... And he always meant it, one of the biggest things I'll continue to draw inspiration from in my own life. So glad we got to connect before you left on this new journey - fly well brother, we choose to celebrate your time on this little rock and have no doubt you'll be equally celebrated in your next adventure(s). I love you brother, see you on the other side of the field.

Good catch, we'll adjust and fly down near (or immediately south of) the Sid Snyder approach... I have everyone's cell and will text the exact spot on the beach to everyone once I get the lay of the land, there will certainly be space somewhere. -
Aye, similar on the Reflux. I appreciate the offer to send some for testing, thanks a lot but I fear they'd be wasted on me - I'll admire them on your kites.

Mark, any problems with rods splitting from the internal style caps vs external? I do enough concrete etc that it worries me. I'm also curious about any difference in the way the sail "pulls" from the single point vs two (normal) - doesn't the single concentrate tension into a smaller area? Not + or - here, just talking shop. Sent from my iPhone using KiteLife mobile app

*****EVENT CANCELED***** This workshop is specifically tailored for first time, beginner and intermediate quad fliers who want to try their hand at team flying - if you're able to launch, hold a basic upright hover for a few seconds, fly a little left, a little a right and back down to the ground (land), you're ready for this class! It is strongly suggested that you have attend (or have attended) one of our past Quad Clinics or Rev 101 sessions, as there is key equipment knowledge (set up, etc) that really should precede team flying. Fliers MUST bring 120 ft lines to participate, as team flying requires everyone to be on matching length lines. Registration is $175 per person ($150 for KiteLife Subscribers) to participate over the full weekend of learning. Schedule is 10a-4pm on both Saturday and Sunday. == KiteLife Subscriptions - http://join.kitelife.com/ == Fliers bring their own equipment, and we do generally break for lunch in the middle of the day - DO bring some rain gear in case we get sprinkled on. Before then, I strongly encourage you to browse these FREE video tutorials for some pre-workshop study... Hope to see you there!
