Nope. It'd be an EXP or Vertigo, or if they really knew they'd like what they were looking at and wanted to put in the time, a B-Series (best value with 2 frames, etc). The Reflex is not a first kite imho, it's an add on.

Thinking positive and making a plan - LBISKC
John Barresi replied to Mike Klaiber's topic in Quad Heads
Good call. 2:30-3:00 length would be fine, any editing is welcome as long as it's reasonably done - badly edited music can impact your choreography score or even cause an improper ending deduction. -

Kind of like saying to the judges, "prove it!" Many of the best tricks or combos started out that way. -

Although there are exceptions, composed soundtrack music lends itself better to demonstrating choreography for kite judges... "Bom, bom, bom-bom-bom-bom, tada!" Olympic Fanfare, Raiders of the Lost Ark, etc - not as "dance worthy", but much easier to both choreograph (as a flier) and interpret (as a judge). Vocal pieces generally score lower, unless it's an exceptional rendition that the judges connect with. All that being said, you can always pick what MOVES you in particular and simplyexpress yourself to the best of your ability - it's a non-professional sport judged in many cases by people who know less than the fliers, enjoy it for the experience - anything else is gravy. -
Just 5 spots left open now!

Beyond making sure everything is equalized and being on the right kite (frame, vent, etc), only the upper 10%-20% of pilots become sensitive to (and desire) certain characteristics beyond that point. End of the day, I'm sure there is a wrong quad for any novice or intermediate flier to get into - as long as they get info like this so the gear serves them as well as possible.

Excellent fine point Exult, and I should also add that the "push" is typically done starting with both hands at or behind your hips then a fast reach straight toward the kite (sudden slack)... Amount of slack needed to flare varies from kite to kite, some need a huge throw and some will do a backflip with enough input. Sent from my iPhone using KiteLife mobile app
