  5. Another great day out at Overlook with @P.V. Nguyen's family, @crazy5 and @flexifoil21... Still very light and variable winds but everyone added more to their quiver of skills and we talked a LOT of shop about equipment and flight - thanks a lot guys, really a pleasure.

  7. There should now be an update in your App Store to fix the problem with remnant code being left next to posted images.
  8. The caps are good if you do a fair amount of urban flying, and PV's kids are taking two of my urban classes in a row. Pretty sure Brett Marchel ( @Flight Risk ) has vinyl on all his bottom end caps?

  10. Aye, no bunji issues here (other than catching the bridle on a knot from time to time). @P.V. Nguyen, remind me this weekend and we can explore some techniques for shaking off tip wraps and such.
  11. Good excuse for a photo upload test. Sent from my iPhone using KiteLife mobile app
  12. Congrats Happyspoon!
  13. I buy mine at Rose City Textiles. https://www.fabricline.com/ProductDetail.php?rctno=71546 They have more variety than is listed on their website.
  14. I apply little dots of this stuff to affix the tabs on either side of the mesh, once they're all dry you just sew them down - much easier than juggling them into place while sewing (PS: we're on an old Pfaff 1222 - not industrial but fairly heavy duty).
  15. I'm using Nylon Grosgrain - 1" wide for the center and two fold points, 1/2" for all the other tabs in-between (19 tabs total)... Straight stitch, close to the edge all the way around the perimeter of the tab. My spacing could probably be more even, it's been an experiment in progress - main thing is to evenly support the mesh, enough that when it does eventually give out there isn't enough slack in the sail for it to lose it's original form in flight. Bear in mind, the tabs do add some weight but nothing a little technique won't overcome.
  16. My students from last Saturday, Dylan and Cardin (11 and 9?), they did great learning to handle very light and variable winds - papa Khanh (21 at heart?) did great too. Sent from my iPhone using KiteLife mobile app
  17. Okay, not sure what's up with MapQuest (no news on the forum developer website at this time). For the interim, I've switched the default to another map source - hopefully it works for everyone? Markers are still valid, no need to re-pin yourself if you'd done it before.
  18. Looking now, thanks brother.

  20. Glad to hear that, but you can see the remnant code next to each image... That's not supposed to be there, hashing it out with the developers as we speak. Sent from my iPhone using KiteLife mobile app

  23. I'm not 100% sure, but going off of a Rev email that was posted on Facebook by a customer it sounds like it will be Randy Tom... Unarguably one of the most revered American kite artists, Randy has over 30 years of kite making under his belt including his well known Negel style appliqué, numerous award winning single line kites as well as his creation of Hyperkite stacks and as an original member of the Bay Area Sundowners (primarily a dual line stack team). My only concern with this new Pro being offered as an alternative is that while Randy is a superb kite maker in every way, he is not an avid quad flier and doesn't have first hand insight into the particular stresses that a Revolution undergoes with regular, aggressive sport use - the B Pro was forged out of 1000s of hours flying through some the most god awful conditions this planet has to offer (abrasion and pressure torture, sub zero temps, extreme highs and low winds, frogs, locusts, etc) in the hands of Bazzer, myself and the rest of iQuad at over 125 events worldwide, plus practice sessions, over a 7 year span. Zero slight to Randy whatsoever, I'll humbly bow to a master kite maker whom I've had the pleasure of knowing and observing for over 25 years - I'm just making the important distinction between construction quality vs build details. All that being said, the new Pro could very well end up being a kick ass kite - I'm just thinking out loud. Sent from my iPhone using KiteLife mobile app
  24. Addendum... As many of you know, the B-Pro isn't being made at the moment due to contention between Bazzer and Revolution. I was informed by Rev yesterday that they are trying to work out some kind of resolution to complete orders already pending, but I'm not certain if it will happen... With this in mind, the Hadzicki family is working with an established masterpiece kite maker to design and produce some kind of new Rev Pro with different graphics as an alternative for customers with pending B-Pro orders but it won't be something that I'm involved with myself - that's ultimately ok by me, I did however want to make sure we avoid confusion by providing some news right from the horse's mouth. Terribly sorry for those who have been waiting so long for their B-Pros, wish I could do more for you.
