Aerial videos of fortress, churches and landscapes
John Barresi replied to AerialExplorer's topic in Off Topic
@AerialExplorer: Seeing as this is a kite-specific forum, and this topic is "Kite Videos"... Do you have any kite related stuff to share with folks here? If not, I'm sure there are more suitable forums for drone-specific interests. -

Unlike a browser, I think there is minimal caching in the TapaTalk app (IOS, Android). It is what it is for now, @Palmahnic has us here to help if the problem occurs again.

Yes, each added ferrule adds weight... For any "wind" flying, it's not much of an issue. For real ultralight flying, you would feel the difference, the benefit is primarily compact storage / travel. You can also MAKE your own travel frames by cutting the stock spars and adding your own ferrules, but all cut ends of the spars need to be reinforced (like winding thread and epoxy on a fishing pole, or reinforced packing tape).

I think these guys will respond better to "travel frame" in regards to your questions about the rods, I know what a Travel Tote is but may have thrown some off confusing it as a kite bag only (the Tote is in fact a package of items).

Is there a comprehensive "KITE" dictionary online ?
John Barresi replied to DeafThunder's topic in Beginners
One more for the pile... https://vimeo.com/album/1622897 I used Randy Greenway's tutorials a lot when I transitioned from old school to new school dual line flying in 2004. -
FYI Frankie, the new forum software likes you to hit Enter / Return on your keyboard after pasting a YouTube link, then it will embed it for you... News to me too.

By the way, we totally needed a Bongo here - this forum is 100% perfect now.

A long time in the coming, I should have these in hand around Dec 22nd or so. 1.5" wide, black nickel and hard enamel... Can't wait to see them in person. $10 each - all sales will go toward funding Team KiteLife expenses (travel, equipment, etc).

Sky Dog Jammin Kite Dodd Gross SOLD!

Exactly, and not all kites respond to this approach - but the Jammin does. -
Sky Dog Jammin Kite Dodd Gross SOLD!
John Barresi replied to 3wrapframe's topic in Kites for Sale, Swap or Trade
Honestly? 85% of the kites I try these days have the nose pulled way in (bridle point up), which always makes the kites feel anemic in my hands... Poor sail pressure, too soft in cornering and the nose/tail tends to rock sometimes... Exile, Ocius, whatever, I always end up dropping the bridle points down anywhere from 1"-2". But that's just me I guess, old school. -
*cackling like an idiot* That sounds fun, hehehehehe...

Stillness & Clarity Hydrofoil Kite Surfing VIDEO
John Barresi replied to DeafThunder's topic in General Sport Kite
I can't wait to play with some more drone filming - got some crazy ideas for team and unusual locations, could make for some pretty edgy footage. == Just want to make sure I understand, no outstanding issues with the tutorial format I use? (other than needing to add subtitling for all the tutorials of course) I always tweak with each wave of tutorials, but the most recent format (like the one linked below) felt pretty good to me - possibly with the addition of more slow motion and different examples. http://kitelife.com/forum/files/file/820-rev-tutorial-traveling-bicycle/ Always open to hearing suggestions, anytime. -
Not exactly sure, but I imagine they're talking about Kite Surfing line... It's much heavier, bulkier, and a bit less slippery than most sport kiters will use.

Version 1.0.0
5 downloads
Dutch subtitles for our HD (1280x720) Bicycle Rotation Rev tutorial in MOV format. (provided by Alexander Kluiters) Inside this zip file download, you'll find an SRT file which should load fine using most major media players (we recommend VLC). You must keep the movie and srt subtitles in the same folder with the same name Example: coastal.mov and coastal.srt Then you can see your subtitles in your movie. -
I'm here to help if the problem can be replicated.

When you talk with A Wind of Change, give them a hard time for not supporting / advertising on KiteLife.

It's hard to splice LPG, because it has relatively few threads in the weave and runs slightly flat, IMHO. Shanti Speed line splices well (tubular weave, more strands), not sure about Skybond with all that coating.

This is a solid little kite, handles very well when tuned right. -

Flying Wings Acrobatx SOLD
John Barresi replied to 3wrapframe's topic in Kites for Sale, Swap or Trade
Decent kite for the price, the pultruded rods won't survive much ADVANCED abuse though... That being said, it does most of the advanced tricks and handles well. -
Awwww yeah, you know Team KiteLife is waiting on news - looks interesting.
