John out for a day of flying... Weapon of choice, an Exile Slice framed in Nitro spars. 90' of 50# LaserPro, variable 2-6 mph, switching directions most of the day.
  2. I use two methods to track topics I've looked at, but want to come back and post on later... 1. Email yourself a link to it (near bottom of this page): 2. Make a bookmark folder dedicated to "wanna come back" topics. I think a "favorite topics" function would be cool, for each forum member. Remember, plugins and hooks being made every day, this script format is baby-fresh, only going to improve.
  3. Video of me at the park with my Exile Slice a couple days ago... If you don't hear a song by MJ when it loads, they've nipped the music at YouTube's end. In that case, it's also uploaded to my Facebook account, viewable by "friends" and "friends of friends". Enjoy!
  4. I forgot to mention... This one comes with LINES, straps and a kite sleeve!
  5. Airin, did you know there is a "street frame" available for the Rev 1.5 that cuts the stored length by half? Could pretty much fit the whole kite, handles, lines and a stake in your briefcase (or saddle bag).
  6. We're pleased to yet again announce the next prize being given away to our most appreciated supporters, the Kitelife Subscribers... For roughly 10 cents per day they play a major role in keeping KL growing in every way. A brand new Trick and Track sport kite from Premier Kites, roughly a $145 value! Comes with LINES, straps and kite sleeve, graciously donated by the Kite Classifieds! Whether you're looking for a kite to fly in team, freestyle, or ballet. The Trick & Track is guaranteed to surpass all your expectations. This sport kite from world-famous kite designer Jon Trennepohl combines solid control with amazing trick capability. You can sign up here. Odds of winning for this prize is currently 1/259, and will be drawn on August 1st, 2009! Our thanks, and the very best to you... Let the drooling begin!
  7. The more I use "new content", the more I like it... Now that I've used it quite a bit, I've found that it works almost the same as the old "active topics", except that you won't lose your unread topics list if you accidentally log out or whatever... It retains new content, not just posts, but gallery additions, new downloads, etc, until you mark them (or the whole forum) as read. I have no complaints on "new content" now that I'm adequately familiar with it.
  8. Thanks, I'll try and step it up a bit.
  9. Pretty neat, most of this video is a 6-man iQuad team flying by the D-River at last year's Lincoln City Fall Festival. http://www.vimeo.com/1949228 Seeing it in fast forward really gives a different perspective, especially to the "ebb and flow" of team maneuvers.
  10. Alright folks, we've got a winner... Subscriber #272... A member of this forum... Congrats to Grandpa, the proud recipient of one new 15' Caterpillar valued at $400! Stay tuned for a new prize to be announced shortly.
  11. Dang, I always forget! Okay, I'll draw and announce a winner within the next hour or so.
  12. Thanks.
  13. Howard, I don't think we got a chance to touch palms in Lincoln City... Next time. Welcome to the dark side! Watty, I used Adobe Premiere... I think I know where the issue is, I'll remember next time, thanks.
  14. Tom, Hedgewarden... Issues noted, will try and work on these items. Bimi - Working on the file size of downloads now.
  15. Just some footage I took a couple days ago...
  16. Hoping to work on it today (provided there's any good footage), stay tuned.
  17. I find the easiest entry to a Rev axel is inverted, or partially sideways (like in a slide)... The last axel rotation comes up a tiny bit short of facing upright, I give it a little extra to finish the rotation, set my line tension, then flic flac. There's a chance I got some video of it, will see what I've got real soon and post it.
  18. With due respect Kent, the major compliment for me is in relation to using all available sail area, angle of sail to wind, etc. Bear in mind, one of the inspirations for the axel was a bicycle rotation on the Rev. It's helped me immensely in light winds, and with my understanding of slack line tricks. == FYI, was doing double axels to flic flac yesterday... On a Rev. I still think they're complimentary, but yes, VERY different ultimately.

Fantastic, I love the way the tails illustrate the flight path on threading moves like that.
  20. Direct link for Bill's gallery... http://kitelife.com/...album&album=191 Great shots, btw!
  21. Ya, front burst looks awesome. Two more vids...
  22. While quad line tricks haven't translated straight across to quad tricks, I have learned SO MUCH between the two that is complimentary... I wouldn't be half the pilot I am if I'd just stuck with one of the two disciplines.
  23. iQuad flying at the Summer Festival in Lincoln City, Oregon this past weekend... Photos here too... http://kitelife.com/...album&album=191 http://www.revkites....indpost&p=53662 We're on 48 foot transition tails by Gomberg Kites, they work really well for us in middle and high winds.
  24. *drum roll* Coming soon!
  25. Using a minimum search term of 2 or 3 characters can sometimes slow things down really bad (much larger search return)... I've changed this forum to allow a minimum of 2 for now, try it out, if it becomes a problem I'll switch it back.
