  1. Choccy, should be in your PayPal record, but I'll check tomorrow when I'm back in the office.
  2. We're pleased to yet again announce the next prize being given away to our most appreciated supporters, the Kitelife Subscribers... For roughly 10 cents per day they play a major role in keeping KL growing in every way. A 15' Inflatable Caterpillar by Peter Lynn, from Gomberg Kites, roughly a $400 value! The Caterpillar is a great ground bouncer! First of all, it is big – really big! The giant size from New Zealand is larger than a school bus. The ones made by GKPI are ten feet tall and fifty feel long. (Shown here.) That’s nearly the impact of a giant Octopus while still at the mid-sized price levels. Second, the Caterpillar is designed to be children/abuse tolerant. There is nothing to grab hold of! We even let kids inside to look around! You can sign up here. Odds of winning for this prize is currently 1/263, and will be drawn on July 1st, 2009! Our thanks, and the very best to you... Let the drooling begin!
  3. Thanks for your patience folks, we've just drawn a winner... Subscriber #15, Ted Shaw (aka dancer2), loyal subscriber since December of 2005! Congratulations Ted, and thanks for your ongoing support! Next prize will be announced shortly.
  4. Great to see you in the community again Ray, been too long... Welcome, I'm looking forward to seeing any new developments!
  5. I won't be there, but am feeling moved to make a distinction... Hawaiian and Spinoff are two different kites, both made by Top Of The Line. May want to specify which one, or both?
  6. Gotta make y'all wait until Tuesday... In Michigan all weekend, iPhone access only. Wait is worth it, the next prize will be a $700 value.
  7. We've had one more cancellation, so there is one open slot back up for grabs. Email or PM me if you'd like to participate!
  8. Hrm, you may want to clarify that horseback comment a little... Steve's a wild one, he might take that out of context. ROFL
  9. I think a perfect comparison is the Widow (from Premier) and the Widowmaker (from Skyburner)... Essentially identical designs (far as I know) and both designed by Jon Trennepohl, the Widowmaker from Skyburner has better construction, better materials, has a more polished look and is certainly a far better flier than it's budget counterpart... Hence the price increase.
  10. In addition to the profiles for Kitelife, Team iQuad and myself, there is now a page for Revolution Kites on Facebook. http://www.facebook.com/pages/Revolution-Kites/84309256569
  11. It's a whole new world compared to even 10 years ago, not only frame selection, but even more so with tuning. There's a lot of good info going around on Rev fields these days, and they're probably the best integrated and friendliest group on any kite field at the moment... You'll have a blast Dodd, they're really good folks, proud to know every one of them.
  12. Thanks guys.
  13. Here is the first pairs routine from TK and I... REVOL's new routine, flown at Kasai park in Tokyo, Japan... Not only was this our 2nd day of practice, but we'd just finished writing the last half of the routine the night before, and we'd never flown any kind of serious pairs together before this visit. Why REVOL? - REV - LOVE (backwards) - LOVER (backwards)
  14. Dodd has a killer set of those custom handles with the flames on 'em too, if I recall right.
  15. You'll have a blast visiting with the Rev fliers, there isn't a nicer and more fun bunch on the whole beach. A good number of them have been through the iQuad clinics, and share the information quite readily. No "set way" to fly though, personal taste is appreciated.
  16. Actually had me going "what the hell happened to Rich??" ROFL - Nice one.
  17. Here's an article I wrote in November of 2004, hope it's of some help... http://www.kitelife.com/magazine/issue39/l...d39/content.php
  18. 1. I'd suggested horizontal play, to better represent the wind window which is slightly wider than it is tall. 2. The kite slows down at the top of the window now, but it should do the same on the sides. 3. The maximum turn input is a bit too wild in my opinion. 4. I'd like to be able to lock into a line after evening out my controls, so squares are a bit more feasible. I think I had some other input too, but I can't recall and they have thus far not published my review on iTunes.
  19. This is an app with a great deal of potential, no doubt. I left a review on iTunes, but I don't see it, and can't seem to get to it so I can copy it over to here as well. Any feedback, based on my suggestions?
  20. Indeed, full class. Will be good to have you there Brett, thanks again Amy!
  21. Look for an outbreak of dual line clinics in a year or so... It's on my to do list. In the meantime, you should always feel free to give me a holler if you're headed through Portland to meet up. Often traveling, but it's worth a check, and I always love to hang out with other fliers, no worries Ray!
  22. Recovering dual lines is easy enough, once you know how... A few basic methods you might try to look up on the web: - Ground flip - Leading edge launch - Belly launch - Sleeping beauty These are four core methods, each with their own pros and cons, some work better on certain kites, but all are worth knowing.
  23. That'd be cool.
  24. On a train to Tokyo right now (no audio), but it looks good Watty... Added to the playlist.
  25. One primary spot in Tokyo... Kasai, very close to Tokyo Disney. Local kite shop - http://kiteworld-jp.com/ Owned by a good friend of mine, Akiyoshi Odagawa, or "Aki-san" as I know him. Get in touch with him, and he'll get you squared away with other flying sites. Also, you should feel free to reach my fiance Takako, who lives in Tokyo (until Sep/Oct or so), she can also assist... Just send her a PM.
