  1. Ant, how far apart are your knots? And how far from the handle is the first knot? Lastly, are you on 13" handles? == But to address your question... We never use the last knot either.
  2. There are kites that "float" better and aren't as susceptible to indoor gusts (gosh - it's weird to say that)... The Wren has a lot of sail and is pretty stable, for example. The iTrix is the opposite... It requires more consistent powering to keep it going, not as subtle a touch. But on the other hand, I've done as many as 7 Comet rotations on it flying indoors.
  3. The attached image is of Todd Rudolph's handles... We use little letter dice to ID which handles belong to who, so he's got TR. This set actually has one more knot than we need, at any extreme of tuning.
  4. Yes it will, proven with my roommate's potato chip habits. (yay)
  5. Although I generally favor the iTrix or VIP for indoor dual line, the iNak impressed me with it's sail loading... Pull back, and the kite loads up very well, a trait common to Trennepohl's kites.
  6. 1} Unknown... I have a low pile carpet. 2} Depends on whether they will fit under the Roomba as it moves around. It's still a vacuum cleaner... But, it can get under and around stuff thanks to it's height and cord (or rather, a lack of both). It probably won't like tassels on rugs, curtain cords, pennies and all the other junk regular vacuums choke on.

    Roomba

I finally bit the bullet and bought a Roomba... Anyone else have one of these? http://www.irobot.com/sp.cfm?pageid=124 I'm in love, my life will never be the same... More time for work and play!
  8. Hrm? Ohhh... All the good stuff comes out in January, don't ya know? Kite Trade Association trade show is in January. Companies generally release their new stuff at the KTAI show.
  9. Greetings! We've just added the 11th volume of Kite Lines magazine to our on line archives, bringing us to a grand total of 40 issues now available in PDF format... That's roughly 2,600 pages hand-scanned, cleaned and character-recognized for easy text searching and browsing. Just SIX more issues, and the entire collection will be converted... We expect to have the last volume processed and online by or near March 1st, 2007 at the latest. As one of, if not the single best kiting magazine ever produced, Kite Lines spans from 1977 to 2000 and published an amazing variety of high quality event reports, kite plans, interviews, and much, much more. Thanks to Valerie Govig, who has allowed us to reproduce Kite Lines and make it available free of charge via the web... Thanks also go out to Harold Ames and Felix Cartagena who have been kind enough to loan us TWO complete collections of Kite Lines for what will turn out to be roughly two years while we complete this project. Enough talk... If you haven't read Kite Lines before, I heartily recommend it... Great history, single liners or sport kiters, your heritage can be found in these pages. http://www.kitelife.com/kitelines if you appreciate projects such as these, please consider becoming a Kitelife Subscriber... There are a few worthwhile perks for you, and it helps us a great deal.
  10. That was the ultimate goal, same with the logo. Yeah, we're a united force... Of some seriously wacky people.
  11. Oho, now I need a tissue. Almost as nice as those iQuad kites.
  12. First Rev I ever flew in comp, I borrowed from the Hadzicki brothers at Berkeley in 1991... A purple Rev II, neon pink logo.
  13. Wow... Those grey panels, are just black panels lit up by the sun? Great looking kite, I'd love to see a bigger and clearer shot of it.
  14. I have a brand new Red one myself, got it in October. The very first Rev I ever dogstaked for the Wolf routine, early 90s.
  15. Very cool... Those folks at MidWest Kites are nice people too. Appreciated supporters of Kitelife, they are.
  16. We're working on Wildwood... Good chance iQuad will have an invite in '07. But, for west coast... You have to come out to WSIKF.
  17. What part of the country do you hail from?
  18. Or run more. Sorry, 360s are in my blood.
  19. All correct sky fish. Nice web site too, if I don't say so myself.
  20. ROFL, you're a riot Kris... We've got to get you one the same field with iQuad one of these days for some fun flying, you'd fit right in.
  21. To be honest, my Slot Machine is 60/40... And my 540 is non-existent. Skyclad, have you looked at any of the trick tutorials from RandyG or AudioRob? http://kitelife.com/forum/index.php?showforum=114
  22. Haha! You might want to wait until January anyway. And I'm not telling why.
  23. Great feedback Kris, hadn't had anyone comment on the iPod format... Makes it worthwhile (the extra work), I'll be sure to keep doing it. As you might imagine, I was only flying one handed for the last 60 seconds or so... But, I can do side slides, spins in place, reverse to the top of the window, 360s, etc... No clockwork yet, but I'm trying! LOL
  24. Welcome to the family Kris, thanks.
  25. Ohhh, we've got to get some Revs in your bag MissRandall!
