  1. Another interesting contribution, we'll add it to our pool of ideas. Thanks Leo.
  2. Another idea from the mind of Geezer... Anyone care to draw up a prototype? Here's the visual: Eight stick figures, all engaged in different poses... Each in one of the eight colors. For each of the eight, a Rev on lines, doing different things, in the same color as the corresponding guy. The idea, eight personalities playing out on Revs... Various styles and colors, but all clearly of the same "breed" (Rev fliers). For this one, a PNG file (Fireworks) would be best... To allow for minor tweaking.
  3. Ideally, I'd like to have everything in by the 22nd.
  4. We're still working on ideas... Here is our latest. Regardless of whether one of the submitted logos is used, our team will vote on a winner out of the submissions here and award a prize before October 1st.
  5. Dunno about great... But I'm game. Send me an email, and we'll see if we can figure something out.
  6. Don, I'd like to repeat my suggestion that the NWSKL break up the flight orders and compulsories for Experienced and Masters quad events... The skill divide between fliers and difficulty between compulsories is broad enough now, it's almost necessary.
  7. Welcome to the dark side Tristan.
  8. Thanks for your contrbution FileOne, keep 'em coming. Another nice one Tristan, keep practicing with Fireworks!
  9. Leigh - After discussion, I think we're looking to get away from including names... Two reasons: We might change team members in the future, never know. We already put our names on the front of our shirts, etc. Interesting idea though, we'll add it to the pile.
  10. Interesting idea Leigh... We've got 8 members though, any thoughts on a variation?
  11. Been tinkering with stuff, thought I'd post this and let people tear it up for ideas. The idea here was a pyrotechnics look on black, and more like a sun on white. Still not quite right though.
  12. We're pleased to yet again announce the next prize being given away to our most appreciated supporters, the Kitelife Subscribers... For roughly 10 cents per day they play a major role in keeping KL growing in every way. TWO 7' Ghost Pyro Deltas, roughly a $140 value! Two winners will be announced, one for each pyro delta. You can sign up here. Odds of winning for this prize is currently 1/221, and will be drawn on October 10th, 2006! http://www.kitelife.com/prizes/pyros50/index.htm Our thanks, and the very best to you... Let the drooling begin!
  13. Cool, congrats!
  14. August of 1990, my very first kite was a Cheetah by Sky Toys... Neon green and forest green. I found a photo (below), but it's not the colors I had. All fiberglass frame, although I opted for the spectra lines. A month or two later, I ripped the entire keel off the kite attempting to dogstake it in some pretty high winds.
  15. Drum roll please... The winner of this great prize is: Stephen Wasson - Subscriber #157 Congratulations Stephen! Our new prize(s) will be announced by the end of the day. (sorry, just got back from an event late yesterday)
  16. Nothing specific... Except, it should be fairly square/round - as opposed to heavily rectangular or oblong. An evenly proportioned logo is generally easier for us to work with. The feel for the team's character should be evident in our exisiting logo, kite colors and new web site - http://www.iquad.us/main.htm Thanks Eric, looking forward to seeing what springs from your mind.
  17. Wow, got me beat hands down. Nice flight suit.
  18. Greetings! We've just added the 10th volume of Kite Lines magazine to our on line archives, bringing us to a grand total of 40 issues now available in PDF format... That's roughly 2,600 pages hand-scanned, cleaned and character-recognized for easy text searching and browsing. Just 10 more issues, and the entire collection will be converted... We expect to have the last volume processed and online by or near March 1st, 2007. As one of, if not the single best kiting magazine ever produced, Kite Lines spans from 1977 to 2000 and published an amazing variety of high quality event reports, kite plans, interviews, and much, much more. Thanks to Valerie Govig, who has allowed us to reproduce Kite Lines and make it available free of charge via the web... Thanks also go out to Harold Ames and Felix Cartagena who have been kind enough to loan us TWO complete collections of Kite Lines for what will turn out to be roughly two years while we complete this project. Enough talk... If you haven't read Kite Lines before, I heartily recommend it... Great history, single liners or sport kiters, your heritage can be found in these pages. http://www.kitelife.com/kitelines if you appreciate projects such as these, please consider becoming a Kitelife Subscriber... There are a few worthwhile perks for you, and it helps us a great deal.
  19. I'm 31, been flying since I was 15... On the "life plan" for kiting.
  20. True, Mike is usually at West Delta Park on Thursday evenings... Provided the weather is good.
  21. They're $31.99... http://www.cafepress.com/kitelife.59229033 The biggest they have is XXL, which is $3 more.
  22. New and improved! http://www.iquad.us or http://www.iquad.ca
  23. Wow, there's a name from the past. Mike isn't an AKA member any longer, and thusly is not in their contact database... However, you can contact his old teamate and friend, Doc Counce for more info on reaching Mike. PARABEAR (at) webtv (dot) net
  24. Yeah, that was great fun... Thanks to you, Trish and the Windchasers for your wonderful hospitality... Let's make it a full festival next year, eh? A few great photos from the fun fly...
  25. Nice work Tristan. We are looking for something a little more detailed, I'm sure you understand. Please, feel free to keep working on this... I'm happy to see anything you come up with.
