  1. The Chinese roll up bags on eBay aren't terrible alternative.
  2. Very sorry for your loss. You should be able to order a replacement bridle direct from Prism.
  3. I believe they're intended to smooth out low wind flying. I never really clicked with my acrobatx, but I think having the extra weight makes free style tricking easier. Try flying without the vertical tensioners, worst thing that happens is it won't fly.
  4. It sounds like you're missing the plastic end nock. My acrobatx is currently on loan, but when I tensioned the sail, there was definitely a plastic nock at the wing tip. However, I cannot recall what style end nock...
  5. Looks like a nice color scheme! You're gonna love em'! Very interested to hear how the UL handles.
  6. Your quantum should be able to fly down to 5 mph. It will require adjusting the bridle to create more lift, and more (body) movement than you're used to (when wind is inadequate, we make our own). Also, flying a standard down to its lower limits, requires much more finesse or a lighter touch. Practicing with your quantum down to 5 mph will help you develop the skills to start doing slack line tricks, and make it much easier when you do finally acquire an UL or SUL.
  7. bsturmco, I'm interested in the pair of quads. Are they still available?
  8. BobL, the SF 2.5 vented is a heavy kite. The sail is super reinforced and the frame dynamic T18 (the strongest rods dynamic makes I think). All that weight makes it very easy to spin and flip, and feels reassuring on the end of the lines (like you don't have to be gentle). Being vented, you can fly it in higher winds, but still not feel much pull, but it can still lay on it's back like a standard. And the 2 mode bridle is a nice touch, almost like getting 2 kites in one. You should try contacting Lam Hoac. He may be willing to make you the ATM of your dreams. Some day (when I win the lottery) I'll own a suite of Lam's kites.
  9. Ackack, congrats on the Hydra! You get a lot of great features on that kite that will keep you flying and learning for years. Bobl, the SF 2.5 vented is one of Bell Chui's designs. I believe Lam Hoac designed the newer 2.2 line.
  10. My vented experience is with the Silver Fox 2.5 Vented. When I purchased it, its advertised wind wanted was 3-30 mph. It will fly (in 3 point bridle "mode") in 3-5 mph winds with effort. Above 5 mph it becomes more predictable/easier to keep the sails full. Being vented, you'll have much less forward movement to stall the kite (compared to a standard in similar conditions). And personally, I think having the extra mass makes learning axels and back spins much easier.
  11. If you're looking for something that you can slack line on in higher winds, look for a vented. Yes, it will be a little more expensive, but it will give you a wider (usable) wind range, and it will have a stronger frame. Good luck in your search!
  12. Except for those team flyers, they love to get their lines tangled.
  13. Could be your inputs are to big/strong, or that your bridle could use adjusting. Try sliding the adjustment knots towards the tail off the kite in small increments, that should make the turns a little less responsive. Check out other videos as well, the more you see, the more sense it will make. Lastly, practice. It may take time, but it will eventually happen, just be patient. 15. Breezin, I find a lot of what your describing about your Mind Trick applies to the Tica as well. It is much easier to get the Tica onto it's back when using forward momentum as opposed to from a stall or off the ground. But once I get it back, it sits back very deep and makes for almost effortless back spins. Sent from my ONEPLUS A6013 using KiteLife mobile app
