  1. That would be nice if we all got to fly my new B at TI . I do hope at least one of us there wins. It may be a good idea for you to bring it down John, could save ya 5 $$ postage.
  2. Great! I am finally going to get my "B"
  3. I don't see it ??? We have a guy over here that could use it.

    blast stack

Man those are some short lines to be flying a Blast stack? Of course your arms are probably much longer now.

    iQuad ad

Man, I have got to get one of those shirts!
  6. #1 answer is practice. That out of the way, try flying to edge of the wind and fly backwards back to the center. I have found that to be the easy part of the window to fly backwards in. As you get better and better at it go a bit further and further past the center as you come across the wind. Check your line length and make sure they are equal. You say you already have the knots so if it feels wrong change it. I like to look at the lines as I give a full forward and see a slight bowing (slackness) in the bottom lines but that’s just me. When I see the videos of the truly good flyers backing into the top windward side of the window I realize I need to go practice. I look forward to seeing other replies as to setting your lines up.
  7. Syruss, I thought oh good someone I can help but alas Mike and Baloo, both nailed it. All I can add is practice. When you fly for fun, have fun, but when you go out to practice and least half should be inverted flying. I have several 1.5s and a Rev1 and they invert about the same so you should have no problem transferring what you have learned to the new B.
  8. Thanks John, I was feeling left out well not too much
  9. I just noticed something. How come I don't have a kitelife subscriber # at the end of my post.
  10. I wonder what colors my new kite will be??????
  11. I started to get into this whole thing about rotating the thumbs down bla bla bla then remembered that Rev has done this much better than I ever could. Plus pictures. Also after you master this go on to series 2. So for great lessons. simply go here. http://www.revkites.com/main/TechniquesRev Flying Techniques
  12. Excellent first day out!! I Notice no one was even there to help. I was very impressed and I look forward to your next video. Toyguy rocksl Denny
  13. Thanks for both replies! It seemed to follow this thread well, but after I posted here I figured it was better suited to start a thread for this on the Rev forum.
  14. I too am looking at the Rev I so any reviews would be great. Most stuff I read says it is the best thing since ice cream but if you look at the date of the writings they are pre 1.5. My 2 top videos are of Rev Is. One is Jon B’s demo on the beach and the other is Ron D’s. When I see those videos I just want to go out and fly.
  15. I like that one. Bidding on one now. Everyone stay away.
  16. I have seen wind meters priced form $45 to hundred$. I am looking for a meter that shows the mph of the wind and thats all I care about. I fly on the beach so if it wasn't going to crap out the first time around sand that would be good too. My local Kite shops look at me like I'm nuts when I ask about them. I guess I will have to go online. Anyone else gone through this and can tell me where to look and perhaps what to look for.
  17. The B doesn't "come with" line either. I agree most don't want the line and even if they did that line would they get. So many preferances out there.
  18. If you are a kiter of any kind you know how to make a set of lines. I buy bulk line and make my own line sets. That way I can make them any length I like. I even make a 200' set to play with for a day before cutting it down to the 120' and 80' I wanted. Just remember when ordering that you need 4 lines and 4 sleeves for each set. Last time out I got 900' to get the 120', 80', and a 15' sets that I wanted.

    B Series

I thought the vents went in place of the "special" panels" . Oh well, for sure listen to John as he is far and away the knowledge man when it comes to this.

    B Series

Just a vented sail? I don't think there is a diff. in the B other than markings.
  21. After flying my first 1.5 for around 6 months, I got a Blast. That was around 5 years ago and I did not like it at all for lots of reasons that I won’t bother to go into. I have posted before that the Blast was less than my favorite kite. Well Sunday I took it out of the bag for the first time in at least 4 years. I was kind of hoping that if I set it up someone might like it and I could sell/trade it. It was very light wind and the 1.5s had to work to stay up. I had a fantastic time with that kite! The pull, the float, the speed, what fun. I realize the problem was simply I was not experienced enough to get the most out of it. It is not easy to fly but I owned it Sunday. I am so glad over the years I didn’t sell or trade it. So if you see one of my posts which are not quite Blast friendly please realize, ignorance is bliss but it can be cured by experience. I still will fly the 1.5s most of the time but I also have a new friend it the bag that will see a lot more sunshine and wind..
  22. Since I am probably going to win, does anyone know the wind window of my new kite?
  23. If someone wants to make a comment on an article nothing has ever stopped him or her from starting a topic here on it. It seems to me everything is in place and being used. I have often seen articles in Kitelife referenced in post sometimes with direct links back to the article. I find it all very useful.
  24. Get a Rev in his hands before he realizes that’s hard. No fooling kiddo that’s great.
