  1. I'd say just to make a simple quad bridal with two points up near the nose, and the other 2 points down by the wing tips, then try it out, and make adjustments as you go. It will probably end up being a lot of guess-and-check.
  2. Well the topic is called "ocean shores summer heat?".....
  3. Check the thread on revkites forum. I have put up a bunch of pictures, and be sure to check out the video!!!!
  4. It is here. I have finished editing it, and it is up on youtube for you all to enjoy.
  5. Hey there. Yesterday, I learned how the wind usually acts as the day goes on. In the mornings, it is pretty light, but later in the day it gets very heavy. By the end of the day every day so far, I was flying my vented b with double 3 and 4 wrap LE and 4 wrap down spars. Today, has been the best day yet, becuase it is my birthday!!! I could not think of a better way to spend my birthday than laying in a laun chair on a beach in Cabo while flying my vented B-series. I was even able to play with some people that were hanging out on their balcony I got some pics and some good video today, but these computers are really locked down, so I can not upload them. I will have plenty of stuff for you guys to see when I get back.
  6. Two days ago, I left Spokane, WA and arrived and Cabo. Last night I stayed in a Best Western Hotel, and Later today, I will be going to the Playa Grande Resort, where I will stay for the next week. Earlier, I went to the Santa Maria Bay, and flew my Rev 1.5 with race rods and 30 ft. lines. Unfortunately, I acidentally got the LE of my rev in the water, and it got sucked in a bit. I broke two race rods. The moral of the story is, don't put the LE in the water, and water in the sea of Cortez is cold. The good thing is that the bay is enclosed a bit, but the resort is not. So the wind at the resort should be better and stronger, so I won't end up needing the race rods anyway. This next week, I will be making a new video, and taking many pictures. I will be sure to keep you all up to date, but here, I have to pay by the hour to get online, and the keyboards are really funky making typing more difficult, so I won't be on every day, but probably every other day.
  7. The length of the pigtails is dependent on several factors. My rev indoor has a couple knot settings on its pigtails. When I use my normal Rev 1.5 handles, I go on the second knot on the bottom, and the end knot on the top, but with my B-Series handles, I use the end knots on top and bottom. They can be changed just like pigtails on the handles. Usually, the pigtails are the same length.
  8. hey, watty and Penny: we just arrived in the USA last week, now in RI. we do hope to make it to the WSIKF (although i had not gotten the details yet) majory because we want to see the indoor thing (4 days! ) we will get our bearings in a couple of days and i shall look into the details to make it happen..... flight and lodging, etc. see you there Litsong Try not to take too long. Places around Long Beach during WSIKF fill up quick. I got reservations at the Thousand Trails camp site 120 days in advance.
  9. Does this mean you'll be at WSIKF??? I just might have a cookie for you.
  10. I'm glad you are looking forward to it so much.
  11. As long as the ceiling is at least 15 feet high, there should be not much of a problem. The Elementary school in Long Beach has a gym with a celien about that height, and that is where the indoors stuff at WSIKF is held.
  12. Nice to see this place up and running again.
  13. I'm all excited for WSIKF. I can't wait to fly with more people again.
  14. If you come to the indoor fly, I'd be happy to show you some of my fancy tricks.
  15. Indoor flying definitely takes some getting used to if it is your starting poiint. I started out flying revs outdoors for 2 years, then indoor flying was actually quite easy. I would recommend going outdoors first, so you can get control, then indoor flying will just come sort of natural. I will definitely be at WSIKF this year. My grandparents have already made reservations at the Thousand Trails camp site.
  16. Last week, I performed in my school's talent show with my rev indoor. Here is a picture and some video. Enjoy. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FCDvp0hTSSw

  18. The best way to get a spot for indoor events, is to show them exactly what you are talking about. Wether it be through a video, or through giving them a quick demonstration. Your chances are much improved once they realize that the sport will not be at all damaging to their building. Plus, if anything happens, and it is sanctioned by the AKA, there is insurance to fix it.
  19. Having a video will always be helpful in finding a place to fly indoors. I have a new video on youtube that you can certainly use if you wish. I'm not sure on how to get an event sanctioned by the AKA, but you sure could post a question about it on the kitetalk forum ( www.aka.kite.org ).
  20. For me, it greatly depends on the time and place. I think somewhere in Oregon or Washington would be fine, hopefully in late July or early August, for a weekend.
  21. I'm sorry. I suppose I should have mentioned supporting local shops. I'm just not used to it, because I normally have this type of conversation with others in my area, and there is no kite shop in Spokane, WA any more.
