Yeah that is what I was thinking. I am going to Norway next year and contemplating a travel kit, there is one on eBay right now and after parting out the kite and other non essential Items I could get it the bag and frame for about $20. With that said, Prism makes a hard travel case this is small enough for carry on and I may go that route instead. I hear the travel frame flys different, I have some extra ferrels that I had cut so that I can make my own travel kit but hate to waste a good frame just to cut it up for one trip. Un decided.

I have only seen that line in older kite setups. In fact I just sold some in a vintage "lot" of kite line. I know that you may have had a flaw in one of your laser pro gold lines but nothing is perfect. I believe that Laser pro gold is the best you can buy, at least for the Rev. There is some new stuff a speed line by shanti for the quad but LPG is still the preferred. As far as power kites go, Andy at Ocean Shores Kites does a lot of power kites and also Kent at A Wind Of Change in Utah. They would be great to email and ask them questions about power kite lines. I will sell you a used like new rev 1.5 B series or 1.5 SLE that is way better than this one, better than an EXP and it won't be full price either. I can make you an entire ready to fly package with Laser pro gold lines and handles which is the worst part of those Chinese kites. Pm me if you are interested on more details.

The handle shaking is slight adjustments to keep up with the wind and sail. Not common to just hold the handles in one spot or super steady. No wind is perfect and no kite is either. You have to remember that there is something pushing on that kite, it wants to move and its in your hands to keep it under control.

There is a cheap one or two on ebay right now.

Wow, there is a lot there. Thanks for asking. I would recommend not using old golf clubs for this application. I am sure that you can do it but if you are taking the time to come here and ask how to get better you should just invest into more rods. If you need just one rod section they are available at most kite shops. I would also not go to much longer in the lines, 200' is pretty crazy. An international standard is 120' so just about anywhere you go, field permitting, you can find a stranger to fly with.

I had a stack of 3 Quantums. It was #150 stack lines if I remember right, factory bridle. worked great. i sold them and wish I hadn't. pulled like a tank.

They make brakes but i just suggest finding a vented kite for those windy days. One thing though, I really try and avoid gusty days, those will eat kites for lunch. If its not smooth, I aint flying.
