  1. That just looks plain nasty!!!!Baloo, you can finish that robin, now!!!
  2. Maybe having someone else vote (rate) your pics opens them up for further rating!!??!! Glad you're seeing them, OK!! Things are looking good on this end!!!
  3. Duane - I've got it rated at 4 stars, I think it shows stars based on your selection, not everybody else's!!! Was the system set up before to show an overall rating?? I think it's more of a personal choice, now!!! (By the way that was my vote!!)
  4. No Problem on my end, and I'm using Chrome too, Duane!!! Like John said, when you open a pic you should be able to rate it on the right side of the pic!! After you rate it, you should get a message , vote saved!!!
  5. That's the spirit - create your own!!! (Sorry, I can't hear you!!! )
  6. Getting closer!!! No need for any one else to keep track though, I'll give it a good home in a Rev bag!!!
  7. From what I see on your picture, it should be a pretty simple fix to tie it as a loop!! ( Yes, stop smashing it into the ground!!!)
  8. That sounds a little closer than Duane's Florida !!! Weather might not be as nice, but closer!!
  9. Another trick is to tie the bungee into a loop, and do away with the washer altogether!! You see this arrangement on SULs !!! Saves a little weight!! Go through the sail like normal, then instead of having 2 separate knots w/ washers, tie them together and make it a loop!!! You lose the washers and still have a strong connection!! My SUL has that on the end caps, and it's caused no problems so far!! And I use that kite a lot!!! BTW - What are you doing to those "poor" washers??? I don't think I've ever broken one in 14-15 years of flying Revs!!!
  10. Duane - do you mean the washer on the end caps that holds or locates the SLE rod?? Unless you're using the SLE, just remove it!!! I use only my 1/4" rods and don't need them!!!
  11. Unless you got drool up to your knees - !!!!
  12. Looks like you guys had a good time!!! YEAH!!!!
  13. Youse guyses stories are too funny!!!
  14. Yeah...And it's a "combination tool" for the Pacific Northwesterners!! Should go over BIG! heehee!! Keep It Up! Duane I don't think that only the Northwest will find that useful!!! Then again, I could be wrong!!!
  15. Eliminated the need for a stake holster!!
  16. Ok, either answer will do!!!! Or any answer!!! Edit: I will say that I got into kite flying as the only way I would go with my wife to the coast! I'm originally from Rhode Island and used to playing in the water!! Surfed, sailed, general beach goer! Came to the West Coast, went to the coast, stripped down to my bathing suit, dove in, and FROZE MY BUTT OFF!! Swore off any more going to the coast, if it's too cold to play in, who needs it!!! But the wife talked me into going when my son was a year old!! So I went, and saw someone flying a kite, said to myself, "That looks like fun!"! Then I saw people flying stunt kites and it was all over!! This was back in 1989!!! Went through the problems with having the wrong stuff for the conditions, but finally got the right stuff and was pretty happy!! Years went by, I was a fixture at the Lincoln City Kite Festivals, then bang, a stroke!!! Tried to overcome that, but pain from my hips took the joy out of flying!!! Now that the hips got replaced and no pain and back to flying, I've found something from my past to reconnect to!!! And for me that's soooooo important, finding something that I still have a chance to do at a high level!!! Had to give up so many things that I thought I did well!!! People, ( my wife included) think I'm obsessed, HELL YEAH!!! Gives me a reason for waking up and getting on with life, would have been so easy to have given up and QUIT!! That's not my way!!! (see my signature and you'll see my choice)!!! So I've answered both questions, I think!!!
  17. OK folks, sorta spilled my story on flying in a different thread here, but anyone care to share their story of how they became fliers??? I'm sure there's got to be some very interesting answers out there!!!
  18. Duane - You should be on the Rev forum too!!!!
  19. I'll post it in the "Why all the Fuss??" topic!!!
  20. Duane - check the Rev forum, there was and is plenty of chatter over there!!!!
  21. Hey, I thought you were married!!! But the raffle idea sounds good about now!! Hi "SV", BTW...heehee!!...I live sort of a semi-monastic life ("semi" because I've worked my whole life--retired now)...I've been meditating for 30 years, or so, and I've been celibate (no sex) for many years (so many years, that I even forget who's suppose to tie who up! ...heehee!) and I fast (no food) 4 times a year for 7 days on each fast...and I do other monastic stuff. So my wife, for 33 years who knows me well, thinks that my antics are funny...I just like to play and have fun! Others sometimes judge me as a "bad" person...but, that's funny-er! heehee!! I'm also a Kite Flyer and a Kite-arian too, that's what's important! heehee!! Keep It Up! Duane After having the hips replaced, I came back to kiting as a form of therapy from my stroke! It was awesome to find something from my past (before stroke) that I could still do now!! And maybe do it better than before!! Lots of people ask me "What do you see in kites that keeps you so interested?"! Many don't understand that finding something from my past, that I can still do, is soooo important to my sense of self-worth!! So now I look to fly whenever the weather allows and my schedule is clear!!! Practice - practice - practice!!!! Improving my self-image!!!!
  22. Duane - You know you're gonna catch hell for that comment!!!
  23. I think I can set them off from a mile away!!! Had to get "special treatment" just to turn in a jury duty excuse for the wife once!!!
