  1. I think you need to share more info so we can most likely tell you what is wrong, a picture is usually worth 1000 words, rods go on the back of the kite, the tube on the right side is full of packed sand weighing down that side of the kite, my guess is that on this classic rev2, your bridle has loops where you connect your lines with swivel clips and you probably should modify your bridle so it uses pigtails, but this is all guessing without more input from you.
  2. Sold the Rev Blast today. What Rev to sell next?
  3. I have a 7 panel sul from the same era 98-99, they didn't have the leading edge pocket or the bridles of todays sul's. It's from the toss in 2wrap frame, now you have an sul days.
  4. maybe it's the cell phone. no problems here.
  5. Replied to the PM.
  6. This was the kite, the bungees might have been thinner or longer as they barely held the rods in, it may have been owned by an east coast flier and the handles were thinner than pencils.
  7. I just sold a light weight rev2 with tapered spars, I believe they was g-force sul's. But it was a classic curved logo 2. I think it was built for indoor comp but can't recall who owned it.
  8. There is always plan B. I actually have 3 Prism Zephyrs 1 used and 2 new. I will never fly them, I was thinking $75 for used and $130 for new. Seems like something you can try and if you don't like it you could sell, the difference in the buy and sell price you can call rent.
  9. I wouldn't look at pricey too much, $300 broken down in a years times comes out to $5.77 per week needed to save for the pricey kite next year. Many people have junk in their basements or attics that can fit on a table on the front lawn with a LAWN SALE sign next to it that would add up to $300. Extra job for 40 hours this week would buy the pricey kite next week. Mow my lawn for the month of July with my mower and gas, I'll buy you any kite you listed.
  10. The Blast is still for sale, it has the fat leading edge tubes but I don't think it has the skinny leading edge tubes in the package. Whether the Blast came with extra tubes other than a spare tube I'm not sure.
  11. I have 2 B2's I don't fly. black/blue and purple/gray.
  12. BUMP will waive Paypal fees.
  13. In the quest to find a glue that will never fail, keep in mind that both ferrules should be done at the same time, if not, what happens when the other one fails? Correct! it slides down into the tube never to be retrieved! At least with super glue you can get it to fail when need be. Also, crashes shouldn't play as much of the part in failure as would the sudden takeoffs or too high of wind for the sail when the normally straight leading edge is curved into a wicked arc.
  14. I'm thinking you should connect with your kite club for suggestions on handles and lines, and it's setup. I know the kite you acquired is a very nice classic curved logo trademarked rev2, because it is trademarked it's from 1990. Back those days the linesets had swivel clips to attach to the loops on the bridle. Your bridle may need to be modified and a member of your kite club might inspect the bungees as they are probably original, 24 years old. I do have the original unused handles and lineset for that kite, which are very small handles, the lines are Kevlar and the winder is a very big wood winder. Be nice to this 57 Chevy you're about to take for it's first drive!
  15. I have some sleeves but not any pictures, center is different on each side.
  16. Probably one that is fitted with a few line climbers poppers, or a few plastic bottles attached to the line, or poppers and bottles. I don't think you would hear much from a slk that's a hundred+ feet away.
  17. Abu Dhabi! The place that has vending machines that sell gold bars? Now I wish I had more masterpieces! Just kiddin', Ill pm you.
  18. I never really thought of dangers of flying kites, other than flying when it's lightning. I have a skyhook 60, but have seen a mega 81 loaded with line laundry from top to bottom.
  19. I know a few places selling the Barbara Meyer Mega 81 for $275, looks like a great price to me. It should handle almost anything you can throw at it. Might be too much to anchor down through.
  20. Nice video, I have to say, It would be nice to be young again, I had to take pain medication after watching all that running around!
  21. I wasn't sure of which of the 4 links to use from photobucket, so I put all 4 in the test post and found out only the direct link actually worked. Once I knew which link worked I listed a new rev blast, but it hasn't sold yet. I'm not even sure how to work the quote thing but I tried to quote post #22 above.
  22. Harvey, Though there is some good info on how-to, make no-snag handles, being that you got your SLE a couple of weeks ago, you're probably not snagging your lines enough to pull apart perfectly good handles, once you really get into flying you'll probably start snagging the lines around your hands, elbows, buttons on your jacket, the wire to your headset and other things on or around you. So, to your original question, are they worth purchasing? or making? My answer is, snagging ain't a big deal. Just enjoy flying it.
  23. Wayne, They was designed for taking the place of a stake on beaches, the string trusswork holds up the rod, if the rod could stand alone there would be no need for the string, As a secondary effect it may be limited travel of the left or/over the right wing. I don't know if I would be able to flip one wing completely over at, I would like to try set for that purpose, otherwise for the most part I use my trusty screwdriver to stake at home. Nicks post was added while I was typing, I agree NO TAPE!
