  1. The tubes/rods on those NYM's are SPL race rods, They are wraps over black or green race rods, I have both, The rev labels are red over clear, with flames and Race SPL. I think they look cool, but a waste to be used inside leading edge, you can't see pretty through the leading edge. Looks like a pretty good turnout. Nice pictures!
  2. The buzz happens when the kite is over flying the wind. It happens when the wind flies the kite, not the pilot. It's like a Piper Cub trying to break the sound barrier, all hell breaks loose. It's all in your handles and your control, slow it down the buzz stops, give it drive and the buzz starts again. The rev is still a wing, like a bird, sailboat, jet airplane or race car wing. It's all the same, cheat the wind and they all will buzz. The back lines of the wing allows pressure changes on the wing. If you change the shape of a wing to mimic flat where you erase most of the pressure, the back of the wing will buzz. Just like blowing on a reed or a blade of grass between your 2 thumbs. Never mind!
  3. Nice! Fun to watch! I see a pop of the kite back up 100% of the time using the left thrust! We are mostly dominate left or right, and might pop the kite accordingly. It would be nice to see, pops in both directions. I can't do it, most people can't. Some people can. Just my view of an axel study. I want to see the right hand popping up as much as the left hand in the video. Harder then thought possible, nice axles!

    E-cigs ? Vaping ?

I started smoking at 14 years old, 46 years later I walked into a hospital with a cigarette in my mouth right up to the front door, hours later I walked out with a nicotine patch on my arm and was told the surgery could fail if I continue to smoke. It's been almost 4 1/2 years for me now as well after only 2 months on the patch. I live next to a reservation and with cartons of smokes still only $21, it was extra hard to even want to quit my 3+ pack a day habit. I see kids drinking energy drinks, chewing tobacco and using those e-cigs, and thinking it's wrong. But then again I was 14 once also. So why the blue light at the end of an e-cig? Why any light at the end of one? I never saw an e-cig until maybe 2 years ago, and saw someone using a selfie stick for the very first time maybe 2 months ago, it was the only selfie stick I saw in my life. Which is better, the patch or an e-cig? What's in e-cigs that's so great. Are nicotine patches as popular as energy drinks or e-cigs with kids. Maybe in a few year from now the government will offer free e-cigs to kids that are hooked on nicotine patches. I'm your doctor, when in need.....

    E-cigs ? Vaping ?

Ain't e-cigs the same as still smoking? Still got a plume of distraction being sucked in or puffed out of your of respiratory system. I think I should buy something that glows blue when I suck on a restricted electronic tube. Think about it! Just don't do it! Why do you need to do it? You'll find out, you don't need to do it. maybe I can cure the need by touching my cell phone!
  6. Rob, What's with the kite flying season where you live starting now? I'm getting ready to hibernate, true store. Why ain't the other time of the year, the end or start or as you say " Beginning of kite season"? I fly on the winder days all year long if I can. I love your pictures/kites. We all do!
  7. Seems like everyone starts with a good amount of forward, it's because of the thought of the leading edge, like an airplane wing has a leading edge. But who ever saw a plane flying in reverse? And why think of flying a kite in reverse, kites go up not down. Swifty, start with a lot of forward and enjoy and play with the kites. Not one of us can fly a rev forward in the longest part of the window, at the ground level all day, unless the kite is turned around for lift, or we have so much forward place on our handle's leaders. A big thing with flying forward/top heavy with the weight of the leading edge above, compared to flying bottom heavy/reverse/pulling the leading by hovering it by lift, is all good. But there isn't a rev/quad flier that can fly/float back and forth at ground level with the leading edge facing up unless they're running like the dickens to keep it in the air. You're flyin' fine! Enjoy what's in front of you!
  8. Swifty, yes you are right!! Some of this stuff doesn"t really happen until!
  9. I actually had a video going when someone tried throwing a Zen through a shovel handle and broke a rod! I believe that was a diamond rod too.
  10. Ahhhh is this fun! or what? Thanks Adni! NICE
  11. Looks pretty as a picture from this end! I love the Night series revs. I only have 1. They do sharpen up in the sky!
  12. I hope you get strong winds very soon, but you didn't mention if this is your first quadline kite. With 10mph, time under the belt makes a full vent very easy to fly, you may need to adjust the leader knot choices. All depends on how you fly, plenty of forward or plenty of reverse.
  13. We all enjoy each other. And our talents, I enjoy your videos, I just look at some videos as camera trickery. Personally, I don't understand making a video then putting music to the moves. You know, fasty mo slow mo, I tried flying with a video camera, but, I need/want a much larger window. I see your videos as, right on! I like unedited videos, raw, much better. And you are very capable of a natural video.
  14. Personally, I'm old school, I like your videos, but, I think flying to the song or songs is all I can do. Editing, speed, fitting the flying to the music after the flying is something I don't understand. I fly to the music right now, stuff like slow-mo and trick photography isn't showing the art of flying as much as it's showing how to put a video together. You fly nice, but try a video of flying to the song next to your camera unedited. Just Fly!
  15. gotta get the phase "walk of shame" out of your flying, walking to the kite to correct it is healthy and encouraging, and it's not that far of a walk. Most stunt kite fliers call it, "the walk of shame" but the walk goes away sooner than you expect, then there's a new walk. I fly many SLK's and need to round up the kites in the evening, thousands of feet of lines. So don't think of walking back to your kite to correct it as a very long walk, just enjoy the walk, and the pride in the attempt you made in the trick. That trick will become standard, and you will go beyond it, shortly. Trust me! Tomorrow you'll fly even better. We all know it.
  16. Those are for sale pictures. That's why they look so good!
  17. Looks like a Wrangler roof to me!
  18. I remember seeing your post on GWTW and how bad the edges was, with the leech lines. I saw another post suggesting a local person for possible repair. WOW! Sounds like you was guided to the right person! PS.. I hope it wasn't a Jeep "Wrangler" you crashed Seven UL into! But something tells me it was. I'm happy you hooked up! We're all happy you hooked up!

    Clear Rev?

Those are handmade, see the outside link from Nick Russell in the WSIKF 2015 topic, post #41 from 4/19.
  20. Wouldn't it be easier just to say "I want a Revolution 1.5B PRO Custom Made By BAZZER for dirt cheap?"
  21. So back to the first questions, I don't know of much glued on/in type standoff fittings, is there any?
  22. I did fly it a few times, but I fly light wind mostly and 20mph wind turns me into an indoor person, +20mph wind makes me go around the buildings looking for missing shingles the next day. Not into dual line and I have too much "other stuff"
  23. In all fairness, the main stage area is the best wind, it's been the same area for years, off to the sides the wind never gets better. And moving away from kids with their first kites, running away from the wind is part of that kite fest. I love the kids energy! They can run forwards looking backwards so fast, only a tree could stop them. Saturday I was flying midvent and homemade, Sunday an SUL and homemade. Wind switched 200+ degrees through the day, what you could call wind. I think there was a lot learned on a day without much flying wind. Hapes launched the kite many times in forward and in reverse, for the lack of wind I looked at it as fine. Not one of us did any better in our first time when our first time was in the lack of wind, but, many of us kept trying the day we got our first rev, even though there was no or too much wind, but there was something learned, for me, I learned how to untangle a spaghetti mess, it took a few days but I untangled then learned how to launch and do a U-turn into the ground. Just keep at it, don't give up because of no wind today, and don't give up because of too much wind tomorrow.
  24. Once again, what are Phil's choice in lines? Why?
  25. Dave, What my setup is, may be what is different then yours.
