  1. It probably all depends on how far you need to travel from the vehicle to your flying area, and how many kites you are flying at the same time. If you're not going very far to your launch point from your vehicle, you can only fly one stunt kite at a time, if the wind changes you can walk back to the vehicle for a different stunt kite. No need to lug around a bunch of stuff you don't need, especially if you have a vehicle that you can call a bag that holds anything you need but might need, you can always walk back to get something different as needed. And who knows, eventually you may need to use a bathroom and have to "yes" walk there too, unless you bring a pee bottle with you in the big bag! Just call your vehicle your kite bag.
  2. I set up a kite today and didn't think about the lines/handles too much, just a few twists at the handle ends, I knew just a few untwists and flip the handle through the others lines. I flipped the kite over and took off. It went into an uncontrollable clock-wise spin, I got a chuckle out of it and have to post it before I continued flying. I tried it again and guess what? Yep another uncontrollable clockwise spin. Now I'm wondering how to get an uncontrollable counter-clock wise spin!
  3. Important Update! Due to being a soon to be classic 1.5b collectors item, the price was adjusted to and increase of $50! $250 + shipping!
  4. Wow, this is bad news about no more rev b's, oops, brb!
  5. I can think, reading "around 100' of string for each" the lines probably need to be equalized, stretched or both. I bet good quality line would stop the porpoising, because the line is stretching back and forth it takes that time for the kite to respond to your imputs.
  6. I've noticed in both forums there are several suggestions for you to try, what suggestions have you tried so far and what suggestions haven't you tried yet? I also noticed your other rev is a 1.5sle vented, the 1.5b shouldn't be flown in the same wind speeds your use to with the vented, things will come much too fast. Before you know it your kite will be 2 months old and fly no different than the first day you got it, let's go through these suggestions and get it flying right! I would like to see some pictures of your handles and its leaders. Remember you're not the only one that wants to know that it's flying right, everyone who responded from both forums are waiting for some good news from you.
  7. I'm thinking, if his other rev 1.5 is flying nicely, why would you change body posture to fly a different rev 1.5, or even equalize the lines, only to unequalize the lines back to fly the other kite that is currently fine? Or once equalized will the currently good flying kite start spinning out of control only counter-clockwise?
  8. I think the next step is to put both kites side by side and measure all of the points of each bridle, making sure the end caps to bridle connections are the same on each kite, no part of the bridle tucked around the back of the kite or wrapped around the bungee knots somehow. If all seems normal between the measurements of each kites bridle you can always switch bridles to see the good flying kite now spins and the 1.5b flies correctly.
  9. I'm starting to think, the next kite I sell I'll make sure I send those rods with the kite instead of even trying to fly them at all.
  10. I thought I read something about a spinning rev recently, it was the exact same question Nigel posted over a month ago on the rev forum. So my question is, has the kite been attempted to be flown again since then? I still think it was in setting up the lines on the kite and putting the brake lines on top and the power lines on the bottom or the right handle in the left hand. Try setting up the kite again and fly it.
  11. Have you tried setting up both kites side by side to check for differences, it sounds like the lines might be connected on the kite wrong.
  12. Today besides being hot/humid/hazy, I spent much of my time of "flying", walking back to the kite to put it back into a launch position, to me it was a learning day for kite flying. I flew to Jerry Lee Lewis' greatest hits album, no wonder I wasn't allowed to listen to his music as a kid! I probably did the walk of shame 40 times listening to that album 3 times. It was a nice fly and walk today, I'm hoping for another walk and fly very soon!
  13. Thanks for the pic, I was thinking the break was right at the outer green to black spots. But! A double break on the same tube at the same time? Is this a staged picture? Cut it out!
  14. Rev Handles? Does rev even make handles? There isn't any performance or feel to compare, they are just handles. I can't feel a difference between 13" or these 14" handles. On a different note this year I finally took a pair of 15" no-snag handles out of the package and started using them, they "seem" to give me a nicer glide, but now it's just normal, however, I'm snagging these no-snags more than I ever did on regular handles, I'm also hitting my inner thighs with the no-snags, a little too close for comfort. I have some 9" and 11" handles that might feel strange flying with them now.
  15. Parts are parts, you already have handles, you don't need more handles. I do have different handles on different line sets, but I really don't need extra clutter.
  16. I bought those handles from china, they came with a $79.95 kite, they are fine, the leader's knots are too far away from each other and the bottom leaders can be replaced with something smaller. I'm talking about Handles 3.
  17. I knew I needed to mow lawn but had the desire to fly kites too, I put 3 deltas in the sky this morning, 10:30 pm here they are still parked in the sky. Tonight the wind will slow down, letting the kites do what they wanted to do is great. No need to pack them up if that's not what they want to do! Sometimes they might launch themselves in the morning after settling down for the night, if they do settle down.
  18. I wish I could get down there and fly just to be there. Maybe I could, but! It's a trip and a half.
  19. I believe Mr. Tapp has great qualities in sewing material together. Blending his ideas together into his sewing machine's outcome is remarkable!

Now I kind of remember, I do have an SUL in this color pattern from KC. I just don't recall the mid-vent option.
  21. OH! Now the WHOOPS part of the story finally comes out! Kinda like, How do you clean the remaining bread crumbs off my kite after the pigeons in Central Park got rid of most of them? OUCH!

I didn't realize the 1.5 rev came in mid vent until I saw this picture. It must be a very new kite.
