huh! <_< What do you mean almost!!! You know we could!!!! Problem is we talk about these kites because we looooooovvveee them. lol, but for those who's main kite squeeze is not a rev. it's considered advertisement. That's why I try to behave myself in some areas. I don't want to tick anyone off... unless it's ticking their hat off with the rev. It's wonderful to have an outlet like this that we can share and sing the praises of a kite that brings so much joy to us. But if you were to put out a query to receive the best article about rev's.. wow... I wonder what would happen? You'd be swamped!! (and of course I'm not a bit predjudiced when it comes to my kids or my kites) BB Penny Hey is spell check not working.. I"m getting a red fist.. the chances of my spelling everything correctly are pretty slim..

I wish! I have to pick my days off carefully. I'll check those dates... a weekend? Wow... at least we've got you to share it with us.. Don't forget you have to party enough for all of us. Tuff job, but some lucky beach bum gets to do it! BB Penny ps Don't totally count me out. You never know!

Kewl Jason, Anyway to add the sale sizes to the SLE series? Being the dingleberry that I am, I have to think twice as to whether I have the Supersonic or shockwave. BB Penny

Wow, Thanks John for getting Al Stroh to write another article. It was very entertaing, and I could certainly relate to the majority of it. Sadly, I was in total shock to discover Larry Smith had passed away. I told my husband last night and we remenised about the first time we met him and Deb, and what all he'd done for us and others. He was such a nice man. We're going to miss him. Now Geezer's article........ I know that man.... he would do anything in the world to help you. That's not going to keep me from beating him with a big stick... I'm just that jealous. Shoot.. that man can talk and Party! Kite Party that is. I'm not done reading his article, but I have to spend some time flying. He is a good colorful writer and kudos to the photographer for all those wonderful pics! Between work and play..... woo whoo....spring time at the park..... I'll finish the rest of the articles. Thanks John for the great issue. I'll be looking forward to the updates. BB Penny

Now we know.. Carl is a nice guy. Rick.. your asking me for help.. that would be theblind leading the blind. I know nothing of web pages, but I do hope to have one in the near future. I can see into the future and I seeeeeeeeee Rick's web page! Wow, pictures of beautiful cody's he's made. oh my... a picture of a mass ascension of cody's! Wow we've got to join in on that! oh.. is that.... is that..... Carl? Being lifted off the ground with cody's attached to all his limbs? and yes... that is Lisa with arms streched out to him. Hmmm did she push him off or reach out to pull him back? I guess only time will tell. Ok Rick I hope my powers have helped in some small way. BB Penny -
Did you see the boxed quad that Dick Curren Made? His handles were long sticks which befit his Rip Van Winkle (sp) good looks. Now this big box quad flew like a quad, except everything was backwards. I don't think I can even explain it's functions, but it was fun and entertaining. You never know what to expect from Dick or his wife Georgean for that matter. But careful a cody maker doesn't get upset over changing his creation... Those cody makers can be mean varmits. And like any kitemaker feel the need to be true to their kites. Come on Carl, you can fly lots of Cody's at once. Don't be shy. Lisa and I can hand them to you while you stabilize them. We can tie you to a goal post in a field so you don't take off. Or we could attach a camera to you and experiment with some kite ariel photography. Oh, dear... I'm actually pictureing this. ok... I better get out of here. lol BB

Down Rick, down.. Carl is talented enough to hold one cody in one hand and another in the other. and at least one off of each foot. As single lines. Heck, he might even attach two to his knees. He's just that good. I pretty much have to go to Ore. to buggy, though I might try to sneak by at Ocean shores. Well, off to work for me. You all have a good day. BB Penny
-
You can fly 4.. one off of each foot, one off of each arm. Hey, where there's a will, there's a limb. BB Penny

Sunset Beach Bum Buggiers rule the road at the edge of the sea. Buggy On! Now that is from memory of a bumper sticker that Linda Anderson's NW Kites (?) put out some years ago. Sadly Linda is no longer with us, but her spirit lives on in our hearts. It's time to buggy. I have no indoor close by, so when are the buggiers out in Ore? Not this weekend, but very very soon. I feel the need for speed.... any buggiers out there? BB Penny

Sure and you missed your chance to indoor fly at Lincoln City. It was awseome! The Parks were great. Fantastic costumes, new routines, and my guys from here did a fantastic job. Lots of lessons for all ages too. Hopefully Sandy Pfaff from Lincoln city will write an article for Kitelife w/pictures. It will be a while before I can get back to Ore. Time to start working on some outdoor routines. Problem is when I think of outdoor routines, I think of show instead of competitions. I can't seem to mesh the two together. Moss is softer then grass. Why can't we have yards of moss? I don't understand why moss is frowned on. Why? Anyone know? BB Penny

YOur welcome Doug. Hey next time I'm down south, can I expect some fried okra? yummmy! My son is in S.Carolina. BB Penny

The only magazines out there now are the AKA, an excellent magazine. A power kite magazine of some sort and a European one. I'm not sure and don't want to start any rumors, but I thiiiiiiiink Dan P. passed away. I hope I'm wrong. Did you go to Fort Worden? BB Penny -
I've heard 2/3 the length of the leading edge is good. Or is it 1/3? Nope, I think 2/3. But I've seen them short and I've seen them long. Experiment and see. I kept my stack lines the same length when I stacked 3 different sizes. No problems. It is all up to you. Good luck. BB Penny

ok, will try to do, and you do the same. WACKO Macro. BB Penny

hey Doug, That kite was made for high winds, but I've seen it flown inside as a single and stack. Oches made it look easy, too. There's so much I still want to do. I have a SUL Rev. II, and I haven't spent any time on it. It really takes practice on it for inside. I'd like to fly a Rev. II , Rev 1.5 and Rev. 1 SUL's in a stack indoors. So many kites, so little time. BB Penny

What a beautiful arch on the web site.

Well, seems like we have our share of confusion around here. I probably started that somehow. I'm not going to Fort Worden. I would like to go just to visit. I'm just a kite flyer unless I'm making kites w/friends. Non-sew preferably. I do like to make Pauly Berards (sp) stack of miniature indoor eddy's. But I don't own a hot gun, and my scissors are not sharp, so they look a little raggedy. Now, what am I missing, besides two weeks of flying while I"m sick? Come on you lerkers... speak up. Kewl, are you making like a tetrahedral stack of 105 kites? We should get a little preview. BB Penny

AKA convention & Beach Access?
Penny Lingenfelter replied to oyehut1955's topic in General Sport Kite
Seaside was one of my first competitions. There was almost no wind and Rich loaned me his sul 1.5 he had gotten that day. Or maybe it was a sul Rev I, back then. Whatever it was I wasn't use to the light touch. I ended up in the water, last place and after watching the young boys running 360's. I decided I better learn to no wind fly. It was my first year of competition. A good learning experience. <_< Yeah, Banner row in that sand feels like miles away when your packing in. But Seaside is a fun town. Just about everything is within walking distance. Kewl boardwalk and lounges. It should be fun. John when are you going to Malaysia? It lookied like the dates you posted were in February. -
Yup, all those Rev's fly differently. One for every wind, and one for everyone's individual style. Each kite will fly differently in high and low winds. The speed series in light wind can be like the Rev I, a slow gentle giant, or w/wind it can be fast and pull like a truck. That's why I've enjoyed these Rev's so much. Rememeber to try that Rev II in high enough winds. You don't want to be out there looking like a newbie that says the kite won't fly, when its because the wind don't blow. You guys have a great weekend. BB Penny

Haha kite abuse! Well, at leasts it's not kite neglect! oops spell check was what I was attempting to do to the word indesturctable in the post. I won't spell check it again.

John, great article. You need to ask him for his next article. Tks! Penny

Thanks Scott I may have to take you up on that. As soon as Lincoln City is over I'll try to focus on outside. My purchases will be small right now. You know what I don't like about tax season? My sweetheart itemizing and letting me know just how much I spend on my wonderful hobby. John, I will go and read that article. Thanks for reminding me it was there. BB Penny

Hey Rick, I found my error, I said hi to Ford here in the new post and then on the second post thought Rick was him. It is a small world. I met Rick Rick many years ago, and he's always been the first name on the tip of my tounge when I think cody's. So~ I won't call him an old man... cause he'd do the same to me. But we shall exchange kite strings!!! Glad to see you around! Fort Worden is here! BB Penny

Good Morning Doug you'll probably be happier with the shortest handles possible. The Rev II is quick and twitchy on it's own. Try two lengths and let us know. Wow Rich, First time I've heard of a supersonic busting in the air. 6'3, 215 lbs, Now we know they're not to spell check. About 11 years ago we were flying our Rev. I's off the point at Ft. Worden, left of the light house. It was blowing hard, and a friend asked us very seriously if we would let go if we crashed. We hadn't thought about it, but looking at our kites flying high over a white capped ocean we looked at each other and started laughing.. "NO way!" I've had to wade in after my kite a few times, but it had a stake on the other end. If there is a lesson to be learned, I will learn it....... usually the hard way. Thank goodness we were flying Rev's before power kites, which certainly have to be released some time. Let go of your kite when the wind is at your back and the ocean is not in front of you! Rich, have a great time at Fort Worden. BB Penny
