  1. I have not researched this ...so please forgive me if there is a thread dedicated to this subject. Been here a little while and don't recall ever seeing anything other than modded attachment methods via Jeff Burka somewhere. Has anyone attemted using a more foregiving bungee other than stock? It's storming and I am bored.... I would think that it would allow the sail to cup and grab air a little more...thus giving more frame flex. These kites and I don't exactly click. I can fly them fine...just doesn't feel right too me.
  2. Light play: Lights on Pauls 75% Shook Mesh
  3. Sometimes......silence is golden. These would look good in the Florida skies
  4. New Symerna beach cam...check us out.

  5. I have been close to 30mph on the full vent B2 (kitelife) no sticks..3 wrap. It's an odd feeling leaning back with a small sail. Most of my B2 and stick thoughts would be more low wind slack line stuff...but that small sail will still produce moves pretty high up in the window. My first axels were on the side of the window with the b2 fv....26mph that night. Axel to flic flac landing is pretty solid up pretty high too. Makes an impressive sound Time to do laundry...kites need flying somewhere and a ride is in route!
  6. Hmmm..that sucked. Short recap...maybe for lights on the B..very intrigued with B2 and sticks. Talking with Flying Smiles Kites about some other stuff...may just have some mailed
  7. I will never live that one down..have since been told "who" the other person was..oh my. Insert foot now.....It was fun indeed sir..
  8. I must agree with that one 100%. Paul is one of the few people I have met that will fly anytime. A recent proof was in KFL..it started raining and wind died...everyone took cover...except him. He borrowed a rain suit, long lines and a Zen and went at it...
  9. I agree with Ben...as in a combo of other kites. I started with the Hq Mojo and can see the l.e. similarities. I always had an issue with the kite being seriously stiff(mojo). The l.e. also connected via a fitting into the verticals.....always popped out requiring a walk to the kite too remedy.
  10. I have looked into actually making something...but it is cost prohibitive. I found a similar light..and a roll of tape in the bag is no big deal for me. It was super easy and quick. I have used rubber bands in the past with good success....and if the light ever falls...it is a light and easy to find (unless sugar sand...tends to bury itself) We used simple masking tape and ran in through the paces...axels ..flic flacs...you name it...in the hands of 5 notorious flailers and nothing budged. Now I just need some of those light poles......
  11. Despite what is said. I use fast setting loctite superglue. Have not had a failure yet. Wham..bam. ..back to flying
  12. Impact will cause them too come loose sooner than later. How did your mesh fail? Most will admit...it is from improper handling of the kite..or improper rolling of the kite for storage....and catch and throws. L.E. do fray...but in no way enough to not last the life of the sail. Simple solution...melt the fray...done. I fly every day and inspect sails ..frames..bridles atleast once a week. So far...nothing mentioned falls too far from putting tires or brakes on your ride. With hard use...these things will wear out faster than a daily driver. Relax.....fly it too shreds
  13. It's a new dance.... called the Revolution shuffle...

  14. Happy Birthday! Another year down.. may the wind be in your buttah zone and the sail become part of you for an epic soul session..
  15. Ok a recent experience. I fly because it feels great to smile and influence someone else. In Wildwoods, blocks from the event, on 2 seperate occasions. I had people stop me and mention that they had been watching me fly for hours. How entranced they were with the movements of the kite...and wondered if I would ever put the kite down for a break. I talked with both groups for a good 20 minutes and explained the kite and how it works..offered them a chance too fly. Neither excepted unfortunately. But how cool...it makes you feel as if your efforts to bring smiles and something better into this world are all worth while. Not exactly a "how I got started" but why I continue...
  16. I think the standards do just fine in decent wind. I flew them soley for my first 2 years.Only recently did I switch and now prefer a 14 or 15" for daily use. Smaller hand movements equate to a larger input at the kite. In the low to no wind category...I could feel comfortable with 17". The larger handle allows for easier 4 line tension in these situations...allowing you to keep the sail pressured.
  17. Yes it does...The braid in the fishing line is totally different and inferior to actual LPG flying line. This is straight from the U.S. distributors mouth. Your best bet..is to pool the purchase of bulk rolls between friends too cut cost. Or purchase a 333yrd roll and make yourself some varying lengths. I fly only LPG. I have used Skybond...bbut have not found a reason to vary from LPG as my personal choice. The extra monies are well worth it in the end. Handles....larger handles will equal into smaller movements at the pilot end. I use 14/15" handles on all size sails...
  18. Rev 2 is smaller, stiffer and very fast. Exp is larger and heavier..therefor a little slower and more flexible with the same rods. With the flex differences. . In same wind conditions a lighter and more flexible rod might be preferred in the smaller sail to acheive the proper bow and belly shape..I.e pressure in the sail.
  19. https://www.dropbox.com/s/aivktg9bwh318g4/2014-05-23%2021.03.44.mp4 Full sail view before first flight. Short video..I think it must be downloaded..but quickest way to get everything loaded for sorting. This was shared via FB a few days ago...if downloading is a problem.
  20. What an adventure! 4 days of sun up to sun down flying with AWESOME people. A few loaded pics and a link to whats uploaded already. Some videos and more pics in the next day or so. https://www.dropbox.com/sh/k1movjyebbsk0qs/AADGqPljL-fsyoFzOK7uppr_a
