  1. I found this very helpful..thank you!
  2. ,,,just a kite..those days the kite would be in the bag...every now and then I get to pull the strings, and for a few hours anyway.. no one is pulling at mine JB you are a humble & gracious man that has inspired so many, for so many different reasons on so many levels. Thank you for inspiring me at LC.
  3. While practicing my whump yesterday I was thinking. What is different here? I golf… but will never play a round with Jack Nicklaus. I bust my ass at work, I own a small business, but will never have lunch with Bill Gates. I play guitar and sing out of tune, but will never share a stage with Bruce Springsteen. I drink and collect whiskey, but will never nurse a dram with Julian Van Winkle. I fly a Rev….I pretty much suck…but one day I may get to fly with John Barresi.
  4. Whoa publicly whumped…............went whumping yesterday, it is coming around a bit. I was dying on edge of the window at times. But, much improved over a month ago.
  5. Per your previously shared tips and instruction I have been whumping as time permits. Far from being a proficient whumper, but seeing some progress. Just when I’m feeling a bit of whumpiness, I find out about over sheeting… so back to the beach this weekend, because now I suspect I’m an over sheeter, with a limited whump ….and did not realize it…. That realization sure takes the whumpy out of your sail. Thanks for the continuing education.
  6. This was a really great explanation. I had a couple of hours with a very slight breeze today. Thanks to your instruction it clicked for me a bit. Of course long way to go with the timing/consistency etc. I think the key for me was " At that key moment when you've thrown inertia into the turn, push your hands out slightly to unload the kite and let it rotate more freely." Thank you
  7. I really like this Into the Wind bag. I have had one for about 6 months. 5 revs, 3 sets of handles easily. The exterior bungee web works well when used also. I used an Under Armour yoga mat bag that worked great until I bought a Zen. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001U5PCNY/ref=pe_157280_29153510_email_1p_0_ti
  8. Thank you very much for the great explanation. A couple of weeks ago I was trying to "whump" based on one of your tutorial vids. I could tell I was missing something. If I can find wind this weekend I will be at it again with a better understanding of what to do. Regarding Mr. ...sorry about that, just a greeting out of respect.
  9. Mr. Barresi, Regarding the "whump". Is the whump completed prior to initiating the turn, or is there some whump still going on as the turn is being initiated? Does the whump flow into the turn? thanks
  10. Thank you for the insight Wayne, I appreciate it. It would be great to head up during the week but not possible.
  11. We are thinking about heading up on Sat for day trip. How is the traffic/parking etc.? There is only one road in and out that I'm aware of. We would love to check out the festival, but as for now the fear of nasty traffic/parking and crowds are have us leaning towards skipping it.
