  1. That's a nice addition!
  2. I saw the email notification when it went up. I've spent way too much lately and now we have some veteranian bills to cover. I'll keep dreaming.
  3. Ok, he isn't coming, but will make me a winder to give away. That is, if this thing keeps rolling.
  4. I've heard the low end of the range is the minimum that an experienced flyer can keep it in the air with footwork. The upper end is probably what it will handle in the middle of the window. How many kites do you want to get out of $500?
  5. There are 4 sizes of the Snapshot. Of course the bigger they are, the more they pull. Also, the smaller ones are faster. I would pick the 1.4 or 1.9 in that series. I actually I picked the 2.5 for more pull, but haven't been able to fly it yet. My wife, at about 110# has flown a Tantrum 250 at Jockeys Ridge on a mild-normal wind day. It probably would have dragged her around in higher winds. So either of the tantrums would be fine. On the Synapse I'd shy away from the smallest one because it is supposed to be pretty fast, but I've not flown any of them. Where are you at? Do you often have steady winds, or will you be fighting against low winds?
  6. I'm trying to lure a guy in. I recently hooked him up with a Snapshot 2.5 that I stole on eBay. Hopefully he will make some wooden card, reel, and yo-yo winders that will bring everybody back out of the woodwork.
  7. Facebook won't let me share it. Says it's a blocked link.
  8. USPS set a new power kite on my front porch a couple short hours after we left for the beach. Enough said.
  9. Yeah, I was wondering about panel bias.
  10. eBay was kind. I have a pair of Snapshot 2.5 kites coming to me. I'll be selling one to lessen my expense. I can't wait. Edit: a buddy on another forum (non-kite related) watched some videos and now I'll be sending him one of these babies. Another one infected...
  11. I am going to have a quad line foil, but I sure hope it's this one!!
  12. Maybe shoot for something I don't need. I'm running out of stuff. Also, box is in the mail.
  13. Tomorrow is the day. Can we get a third entry to make it interesting?
  14. I like tails. can anybody recommend what length tail to run on a Skydog Dream On? I'm thinking about a Gomberg rainbow transition. What are my choices? 24' 36' 48' 96' ?
  15. Sounds like you are on the right track. Kites are either single, dual, or quad line, so you are right in calling it a dual line. I would say dual line trick or stunt kite. When I hear delta I think of a flat profile and straight bottom edge kite used for lifting, not tricking. I'll let the people know about flying answer the rest of your question.
  16. Here we go. This is some better.
  17. What about the Prism Jazz? Isn't it between the Micron and Nexus in size?
  18. Sorry, I hit the button before I added a photo. Here is the same bad pic from last time. I'll try to do better.
  19. Ok guys and gals, it's a Premier Kites Impulse 1.3 in Red/White/Black this time around Entry is via the standard "I'm in" phrase. Selection will be by RNG on 8-28-15. Entry number determined by order of entry. Standard Karma Note from the Moderators This is a Karma Drawing. The winner of the drawing is expected to pay it forward by offering their own prize for the next drawing. Please do not enter unless you are willing to offer your own prize, preferably not the prize you just won. Drawings should be open for entry approximately 2 weeks, and the next drawing should be posted as soon as possible to keep the Karma rolling. These drawings are run by and for KiteLife members. The moderating team only ensures that your drawing post contains all of the pertinent information (drawing date/time, adequate prize description, drawing rules) before approval. If you are a KiteLife forum member from the US or Canada, you are eligible to enter. You do not have to be a paid subscriber. Members from Canada, Alaska, and Hawaii are welcome to enter the Karma drawings provided they are willing to pay half of the Karma prize shipping cost. The method and timing of the payment will be agreed upon between the two parties after the drawing for a particular prize. Here is the link to the original Rules and Guidelines thread: http://kitelife.com/forum/topic/5426-rules-and-guidelines-please-read/ The mechanism for the drawing itself is entirely at the discretion of the person offering the prize. In the past, entry number has been determined either by order of entry or by the post number in which the member declares entry into the drawing. The drawings have been performed using the RNG method (http://www.random.org/sequences/) or by choosing the numbers out of a hat (I believe an adorable daughter did the picking in that scenario). The only requirement is that the method of selection is clearly spelled out in the drawing post. Entry into the drawings is done by STARTING a post in the drawing thread with the entry phrase chosen by the drawing host (Traditionally "I'm in", but "I LIKE" has been used as well). In order to remove any confusion or misinterpretation, only entries with posts that START with the phrase will be considered. As with all other KiteLife drawings, bantering is encouraged. This is for fun after all.
  20. Thanks guys. I'll get the next one up soon. It will most likely be the Red/Black/White Premier Impulse 1.3
  21. Yippee!!! I say it's gonna be useful. I'm such a gear nerd it's not funny.
