    Blue Meanies

I'm debating between an all Citrus Quantum stack or a mixed color stack.
  3. I never flew it with more than 150#. Yes, I would imagine that 300# lines would be like dragging a 100' tube tail...........you don't need that much HQ recommends 150-220. I haven't had the time to repair my 175# set and 300# was the next best thing I had....
  4. Right on! I don't ever want to stand uncontested in this thing. That takes both the fun and the meaning out of it.
  5. I got it up and flying in quad control today. For those familiar with Prism's quad handles, right main line was all the way back at the horn, left main was about 8" from the horn, and both brake lines were all the way out at the end of the leaders and could have used a little more slack.
  6. Ok, the hawk gets a little lazy on 300# unless the wind is really up.
  7. What I've found is, that it isn't the line so much, as how the sleeving is melted to prevent fraying. Our team bought 4 sets of 50# x 85' for very light wind flying and had 1 line in 16 break. Looked closely at it and found the sleeving was the cause. Melting had made a hard edge that rubbed the line excessively. It broke right at the end of the loop where the sleeve ended. I believe it. I'm headed back out with the DeltaHawk and Snapshot 2.5 in 15-20 mph winds. Wish me luck, err, safety!
  8. SHBKF, on your Snapshot 2.5, are the main and brake lines the exact same length? I tried to fly mine today for the first time and it acted like it was in full reverse even with the handles in power position. I came home and spooled the lines off on to a card winder and the flight lines are a good 20-22" longer than the brakes lines. The leaders on the brake lines are almost that same length. Just trying to sort things out.
  9. I'm impressed. But I consider such occurrences braggin' rites somehow. You break something & it's a bummer. But then you get to tell the story. Still pretty proud of breaking a 50# x 75' line set with a zoomin' Micron..... SHBKF Nice work on the Micron! I didn't know it could stay in the window long enough to load up the lines.
  10. High wind? Check! Deltahawk? Check! Skybond 175? Check! Well, maybe not...
  11. Got it! Wow, those lower spreaders aren't gonna pop out on their own. Maybe this hurricane will bring me some worthy wind.
  12. I like my quantum and 75' tube. Hoping to stack 3...
  13. I have an open case. It was for a pair of Prism Snapshot 2.5's. Supposedly, one was new and the other was used. Well, one had sand in it, but no damage found so far, and the other had a huge rip. I got them to send a replacement, which turned out to be a 1.9, instead of another 2.5. That would have been cool if it didn't have several busted baffles and a split seam... Waiting to hear back.
  14. These power kites sure have been a fight. Bought 2 and one had a giant rip in it. Got a replacement today and it was a different kite that is also torn. This eBay seller isn't doing so good. I think they bought a stores returns or something.
  15. I shouldn't, but mark it sold. And actually, the line set I was thinking of is 175#x100', so that's even better.
  16. This one is on my list too, but we just don't see the wind inland.
