  1. Time is getting short. So far: 1) makatakam 2) Nick Russell 3) RaginCajun 4) dragonfish
  2. Fred, are you in?
  3. Had a good day today with the 4D. I even ran at least one 360!

  4. Let's see, I need to get the launch and landing down if different winds. After that, walking into or away from the wind as needed. After that...
  5. Oh, it's another one I want. Actually I want the Snapshot 2.5 for the size and quad line capability. I just don't have any more money.
  6. Well, that sounds pretty cool. I learned something.
  7. Awesome! My wife seemed to enjoy flying a foil at the beach. Hopefully she will want to fly more when we go back.
  8. Can you make bar tacks with it in heavy webbing? If so, it could come in handy for making slings. Other than that, I have no clue.
  9. Want? Yes. Need? Absolutely not! I'm not up for anything that I can crash faster. Surely somebody here can keep it under control.
  10. Is there any wiggle room on the Peacock Wrasse?
  11. Here we go! Of course the bag/line/papers are included, but not pictured.
  12. I've been looking at the Kelty Noah Tarp. It has to be more substantial and a lot lighter than an EZ-Up style shelter. It is just a sun shelter though. I've seen something similar that goes all the way to the ground before, but I don't know what it's called. Maybe someone here knows?
  13. I will get some picture together, hopefully this afternoon. And, why yes, those came from Steve. I was sticking the Micron in the vault for when my fingers and mind become ready and the Impulse was, well, an impulse.
  14. What do you look for in a kite field? What's your ideal, within reason, location? Size? Trees? Anchors? Etc? It's a crazy pipe dream, but I might try to ask a local park to consider something in its future plan. We have lots of trees here and our wind is usually from the west or south and headed north or north east. Ideal would be 200'x600' cut into the woods with access from the SW?
  15. I guess I kinda swooped in on this one. It just came at the right time.
  16. Ok guys and gals, here it goes. Karma is putting forth your choice between a Prism Micron in Purple or a Premier Impulse 1.3 in Red/White/Black. The Micron is new. The Impulse has been out, but not up in the air. Entry is via the standard "I'm in" phrase. Selection will be by RNG on 7-24-15. Entry number determined by order of entry. Standard Karma Note from the Moderators This is a Karma Drawing. The winner of the drawing is expected to pay it forward by offering their own prize for the next drawing. Please do not enter unless you are willing to offer your own prize, preferably not the prize you just won. Drawings should be open for entry approximately 2 weeks, and the next drawing should be posted as soon as possible to keep the Karma rolling. These drawings are run by and for KiteLife members. The moderating team only ensures that your drawing post contains all of the pertinent information (drawing date/time, adequate prize description, drawing rules) before approval. If you are a KiteLife forum member from the US or Canada, you are eligible to enter. You do not have to be a paid subscriber. Members from Canada, Alaska, and Hawaii are welcome to enter the Karma drawings provided they are willing to pay half of the Karma prize shipping cost. The method and timing of the payment will be agreed upon between the two parties after the drawing for a particular prize. Here is the link to the original Rules and Guidelines thread: http://kitelife.com/forum/topic/5426-rules-and-guidelines-please-read/ The mechanism for the drawing itself is entirely at the discretion of the person offering the prize. In the past, entry number has been determined either by order of entry or by the post number in which the member declares entry into the drawing. The drawings have been performed using the RNG method (http://www.random.org/sequences/) or by choosing the numbers out of a hat (I believe an adorable daughter did the picking in that scenario). The only requirement is that the method of selection is clearly spelled out in the drawing post. Entry into the drawings is done by STARTING a post in the drawing thread with the entry phrase chosen by the drawing host (Traditionally "I'm in", but "I LIKE" has been used as well). In order to remove any confusion or misinterpretation, only entries with posts that START with the phrase will be considered. As with all other KiteLife drawings, bantering is encouraged. This is for fun after all.
  17. Thanks Jason, I can't wait to get my grubby paws on this swag bag!
  18. So, it's basically buy the sled and get the pennant for free. I'm thinking.
  19. If you had 2 people, one with a pulley and the other with a biner, you could run the pulley up to the first piece of laundry, transfer the pulley to the other side of the laundry, and work towards the next piece of laundry while the person with the biner puts the first piece of laundry away.
  20. That's how it is around here.
  21. I guess when you need 500# line you graduate to a pulley for walk down and have your knife always at the ready.
  22. I flew at triad park today and at least wasn't run off. I can't recommend it yet, but will be in contact with park staff to get a better feel for it. The park rules state that kite flying is allowed but has a very vague description about it only being ok in certain areas without pointing those areas out. I flew at the top of the Amphitheater hill beside the Field of honor. It was a good place for one or two stunt kites on shorter lines. I'll report back and then add to KiteMap if warranted. http://www.co.forsyth.nc.us/parks/triad/
  23. In fact, assuming that your photo was taken this past June, we may have even passed each other, up on that great sand dune in the sky ! What a sight it was ! Yup, here I was. Great place!
  24. I just have to bump this awesome place. Go during the Rogallo Kite Festival if you can. I think it's held twice a year.
