On Monday night, around 6pm, my area had a microburst. Our driveway isn't exactly graded properly, so a ton of water came into the garage. The garage is attached to a workroom and my office in the finished basement. Let's just say I need new carpet, and new paneling. However, in cleaning the workroom, my lovely wife made a discovery. Back in like 1991 or 1992, she bought me a dual line kite (back when all I knew was the term stunt kite). I flew it for a few years, then kind of dropped out of the kite scene because of whatever reasons. I bet you can see where this is going. It's a Griffin III, I think. 8 foot wingspan. I put it together to see it's condition. The sail looks to be in good shape. The struts seemed to be solid, though I didn't actually test it. I think the bridle lines are not in good shape, there was a powdery residue on them. No water got near the bag, so there's no damage from that. I'm excited to get it in the air again.

I bought this kite a few years back with the plans to take kite flying to a different level .... due to life changes this kite was only flown once maybe twice. It is in new condition. I assembled the kite the other night and I had forgot just how nice a kite this is. $325.00 plus shipping I have no strings to go with the kite

SOLD I dug this out today and remembered that we opened our show at Disney in 1989 with this Force 10 with a 100 foot tubular tail and towed behind a ski boat on the lagoon at Epcot Center. It is definitely well used but still in rather good shape considering the number of times it was flown. There is one wing batten that is missing the attachment bungee cord which can be easily repaired. (see photo) The sail is still brilliant. All the spars are in good shape and no rot on the bridles. The cross strut cotter pins are a little rusty, but still fine.I have know idea its worth, but I would be satisfied with $200 + shipping OBO.Please someone let me know your thoughts on the price. Not sure?

I messed up with the audio, still working out the whole editing thing! It was mainly wind noise anyway.

So I was at one of the local Goodwill stores the other day and my fiance says " Hey babe, look at this" So I go over to her and she has this kite in her hand. I see it is very small. I also see it says "stunt kite. Then I notice it has 2 winders. then it hits me.....SHE FOUND A TINY DUAL LINER ! I immediately open it up and put it together and see that the standoff's make the pockets or whatever they are called pretty deep and also realize that it is proportional to my larger ones. So I look at the price......$2.freakin 99 ! I couldnt wait to try this thing....We went to the field right up from my place that I always have no success in because of the crappy wind even on windy days. THIS THING FLIES GREAT ! Even in very little and crappy wind that is all over the place,,,,it flies exactly like my larger ones ! (The reason I explain it this way is because We bought 2 junky dual liners that the standoffs barely make a pocket in the kite and they don't fly at all.) I will be flying it more today and get more videos but here are some pics and a video to keep you entertained until then.

I have an Echo light wind dual line kite for sale. Very little air time on it and a very crisp sail. It is practically brand new. Into the Wind sells them for $140. I would just like $100 including shipping to the US. Includes sleeve. Ask if you have questions.

So recently I aquired a set of Shanti Skybond 100'x100# quads. I told myself in the beginning...I would fly both major makers and form my own views on what I liked. So no better time than now! I have flown a full year or so with LPG, different weights and lengths..so time for a change. I have about 50 hours or so on this Skybond set. I have to say that I am liking them. After flying opk with Skybond lines, my interest peaked even more... good timing as I am in need of all lenghts and weights again. My initial thoughts were super slippery. The coating used is great so far. A little color fade...but the set has been in the ocean completely for many hours...I swim and fly or float and fly. .hit sandbars...etc... I hope in the long term...this coating holds up, I dig it. Almost has waterproof properties when wet...sheds water very quick. On the plus side....no clumped up sandy lines when winding up Smaller diameter line compared to Lpg..which equated to less drag and a more direct feeling between me and the kite...almost like running a lighter weight line. I am tickled "yellow" so far and looking for the long term picture as I begin the switch..... I only have 1 gripe with LPG in the end...longevity. I have been wearing out sets at alarming rates...even with regular rotation.up and down..and switching ends. So we will see what transpires from a change this year... What do you fly and why? If you fly Skybond already.... what's your comparison to LPG?

This tutorial from Kitelife.com breaks down an efficient and reliable assembly and disassembly method for most dual line sport / stunt kites. While putting your kite together and taking it apart may not be relevant to your flying, it DOES effect not only the longevity of the kite and its materials, but a proven process can greatly streamline and simplify your "before and after" on the field. You can look forward to a growing collection of similar tutorials covering equipment, flight techniques and other "pro secrets" gathered from over 20 years in the kiting community... A number of them will be available here on YouTube, while the majority of these tutorials will be located in the Kitelife Subscribers section, be sure to subscribe today if you like what we're doing here! -
Just returned from the Wildwood Kite Festival and discovered my teenage daughters had a great time learning to fly dual line stunt kites. While there, i pulled out a couple of old beetles to let them practice but that didn't last long. On both of them, the spreader connection broke after a couple of collisions. So now I'm in the market to replace them. I've had the Beetles for awhile and was wondering if any of you would chime in with first-hand experience with any new beginner models released since the Beetles. I'm looking for a delta, two-line stunter with a good wind range, not too quick, preferably under $80. Thanks in advance, Phil
