We’re testing out a new classifieds function here on the forum, please give it a test run and let us know how it can be improved.

What I really need in there is a few test ads in some of the categories, for feedback from all of you as buyers / sellers, and to see how it all browses once categories have content.

As a non-subcriber, am I supposed to be able to enter ads.  Asking as it appears I can't.  I get a message saying "The page you are trying to access is not available for your account."

I assume we could somehow label them as test ads so that we don't actually have to have something to sell?

Watching this with interest.

If not already available, it would be useful to be able to 'follow' postings of ads (including new postings if feasible).

Should be, says it’s accessible for regular members - looking into it.

Just put “TEST” in the ad and a note not to buy, even a silly price.

Should be working now?

Didn’t have permissions set for regular members.

Yes, I see that now. First in, following all four categories!  ☝️

Also followed Wayne's first ad.

Be interesting to see if following a category results in email notifications  of new listings (checkboxed, so we'll see).

Next problem.  I select the category and then get :

Sorry, there is a problem

You cannot create adverts in this category: missing PACKAGE INFO, TYPE or ITEM CONDITION. If you have already created them, edit your category and choose which ones the category will use. Contact the system administrator.

Error code: CL-SUBMIT/2

Looks like a missing step in the script as I see no screen to enter the details of what I want to sell.

4 weeks was an option for subscribers but the 7 day ad for regular members wasn’t associated with the categories.

How about now?

I just added a fake ad for a real kite.  I don't see it on the site yet, though - is there an approval process?

Thanks, John.  That works now.  Only comment is that the 1MB image size limit is a bit restrictive with today's phones and cameras.  Nothing that can't be worked around though.

I am trying to post something on the Kites for sale, swap or trade forum but can only find the new classifieds system. Are adverts automatically being posted to both? If not them how do I post on the former please?

Place an ad, once approved it creates a new topic in that forum to which you and others can reply - or use the question system in the classified ad. 👍🏻

I guess something didn't work right the first time... NOW I've posted a fake ad for a real kite!

Yep, all that is working, I’m still not getting notifications of new ads (which are pending approval) but I’ll get that sorted.

Again, any ideas for better categorization of ads will be considered. (use bullet point format)

Can you add a "in search of" (ISO) or   "wanted to buy" (WTB) category? Or make them sub categories under the 4 main?

Ok, I’ve updated the categories into two separate main Sale and Wanted sections, multiple sub-categories below it - open to further suggestions!
