  1. This is a very tight and opinionated community. Fortunately we also don't always have the same opinions. To my knowledge there are no truly off-limit questions as long as you understand the answer you get might be as much opinion as fact.. Personally, I think the Djinn is a better quad since it suits my flying style and is based on John's improvement to the Hadziki wing. The Fulcrum is also a very nice wing and has some advantage and disadvantages. The Fulcrum is not a flat profile and therefore has some different flying characteristics. The being said, I think the Djinn is a more durable design, especially at the upper limits of the wind window. As suggested above. See if you can meet up with other fliers and try before you buy. When you ask for help with a personal choice you'll get personal choices but the best choice is one you make via personal experience.

  2. Lon how many, if any other quads do you have? The fulcrum is a beautiful kite and is very fun to fly, but it’s kind of in its own realm. The Djinn on the other hand is at the top of its class. All the refinements John has done to it make it the most flier friendly kite on the market today. It will take you and your flying to what ever level your capable of flying. I own an entire set of Djinns and they are pretty much the only quads I fly now. I did purchase one of the first 5 fulcrums from kites and fun things and rarely fly it. I’d definitely say try one before you buy it, it’s way different than a Djinn or any other quad kite on the market today. If your on the Oregon coast I’ll let you try mine out.

  3. Ah, rounding up the quad array with a vented kite might be useful, in whatever model you find most appealing to you... Vented quads have an amazing upper range, and can generally maintain control / comfort at least 10mph over that of any dual line.

  4. khsidekick, to answer your question I have several quads, but am just learning as in not very good yet😁 I currently have a rev 1.5 classic and a pre reflex NYM. I also have a freilein mid vent exodus and a std vertigo purchased from Andy up at OSK.

  5. You need to change your name to Riff's kite factory. RKF productions? Riff's polyester persuasions? RPP?

  6. Started my day by making 8 LE sleeves for 72" sails. Waiting for inspiration on what these kites will be..

  7. @Lon Honestly, unless the money is burning a hole in your pocket, you have pretty much what you need to learn. I'd make sure you had good lines and handles and wait until you've had the chance to fly other options before grabbing something else.. Literally ask yourself what are YOU looking for that you don't have covered by your current set.

  9. No bridle on a 1.5 is less than ideal for control, less cupping, less control - I just wouldn't do it, myself, except to enable easier catch and throw.

  11. Hi all, Sorry I haven't been on as much recently, this past year has been an interesting one. Just dropping a note to let you know this forum software and all related plugins or apps should now be up to date. Never hesitate to let me know if you encounter any issues, anywhere on the website!

  12. I feel that yes they will help short term but in my view they can become a crutch that you don't really need. I almost relied on my 15's to fly in light winds until the day I didn't have them. Set your kite up, and your leaders and use your 13's. Footwork and body usage will serve you better than different handles as this skill will transfer to all the different sail configurations. 13. It really depends on your level of experience. If you have not yet reached the "intermediate" level you won't notice any difference at all. If you have you may notice some but will have to alter the inputs because the additional length accentuates the inputs so you'll have to tame them down, but the length also gives you added throw distance as a lever. You'll probably fall out of the sky at first, but once you adjust you'll be ok. Some people like longer, some don't. Try it before you buy it. Personally, I just never bothered. It's fine for me with standard handles. Your mileage may vary.

  14. GREEN!!! I want one in purple and pink though. Well maybe purple and silver. Dang maybe neon green and yellow. Really starting to hate colorizers. Well maybe not. They are a lot of fun. Then again they waste a lot of time. On the other hand though.Whoops I digress.Seeings how it's you and not me LOL I'd get the green one for sure(pretty sure). GREEN!!!
