  1. Wow, very unique coloring on a Nirvana... Any chance of a full frontal photo?
  2. New prize here, upping the ante!
  3. We're pleased to yet again announce the next prize being given away to our most appreciated supporters, the Kitelife Subscribers... For roughly 10 cents per day they play a major role in keeping KL growing in every way. A brand new Soul sport kite from Flying Wings, roughly a $249 value! Actual prize kite has a blue color scheme, pictured below, second from the left. Odds of winning for this prize is currently 1/253, and will be drawn on September 15th, 2009! Sign up here! Note: This kite has been flown for 10-15 minutes and may need some bridle adjustment, but it's in cherry condition and will make someone very happy! Our thanks, and the very best to you... Let the drooling begin!
  4. The winner is... Bob Matteo, subscriber #94! Thanks Bob, congratulations, and good luck! Stay tuned for a new prize soon.
  5. Hi guys, thanks for your patience... I've been putting the finishing touches on our latest issue of Kitelife all night. http://www.kitelife.com/magazine/issue67 I'll draw a winner shortly, stay tuned.
  6. Mike advertised on Kitelife for a little over a year, he's good people.
  7. Too cool. http://les-flic.over-blog.com/article-34413897.html
  8. It was. That was 10+ years ago.
  9. No apology necessary.
  10. That's a grand tale Duane, I never have adventures like that... I'm oddly envious. Congrats on your new family addition, enjoy it, and tell us all about it!
  11. Oh yes, Dazza, don't misunderstand, it's all good... No harm meant, I know. I'm just doing what I feel is appropriate for the Kitelife forum, as sole proprietor.
  12. If anyone really looks for quad plans on the web, they'll find them... I'm all for people making their own kites too, but I feel very strongly about not helping people find copies. For what it's worth, after 19 years of flying sport kites, I still love both dual and quad equally, for different reasons.
  13. Hrm, well... Pardon me while I pull my foot out of my eye.
  14. I've deleted the link. The company Dazza linked in that first post is well known for producing poor quality copies, both in flight ability and manufacturing. Not only have they copied kite designs, but many of them right down to the graphic layout. My B-Series was one of the victims, which they removed after some passionate communication, but they continue to produce the other copies. Furthermore, they are *just* a company, they aren't doing anything to help the kiting community either. I will not allow any of their links or info in the Kitelife network of web sites.
  15. No harm done at all, rest easy. Key is, when the Freedom was released, it was done so as a copy and sold as such. Although this is no longer the case, it still has this history behind it.
  16. Hear hear.
  17. I've deleted the Freedom 2000 link since it is a BLATANT Rev knock-off, sorry mate!
  18. What a superb inclusion of love and kites, such a nice photo.
  19. Great scene, very nice Jon.
  20. The Thursday get together is mainly made up of some really old fliers, not so much kiting as hanging out. For regular fliers with modern kites, especially sport kites, you'd have better luck on the weekends.
  21. Hi folks, just realized the daily allowance for this was set to "0" so no one could assign + to posts... Remedied now, you should find everything in working order now.
  22. Hi Nazu, welcome to the Kitelife forum! Many of the fliers in Tokyo fly at Kasai, not far from Tokyo Disney... It's my usual flying field when I'm there with Takako. Two Tokyo contacts... http://www.geocities.jp/airrex_y/ (Tamura-san) http://kiteworld-jp.com/ (Odagawa-san) Those two points of contact should put you in touch with the Tokyo kite "scene".
  23. Cool. There's not much to it, just links your "status", "profile photo" and "avatar" between here and Facebook. I'd love to see cross-posting and such, but it's not built in at this time.
  24. Fantastic event Steve, you and everyone on your staff really outdid yourselves this year. iQuad is proud to have been a part of it, thanks for having us!
  25. Well said Duane, your sentiments (world/economy) parallel some of my own.
