    Rev EXP?

Regardless, make sure you get a 1/4" leading edge... No SLE spars.
  2. Can we look forward to a report from this event again Troy?
  3. No real worries, I understand... Just pouting a little. Thanks for putting it together, regardless.
  4. I got your info Darin, thanks! I leave for Louisiana at 5:30am tomorrow morning, back on Monday... Should be able to ship your kite next week, and as Theresa mentioned above, she's included a line set. Thanks for being a subscriber! == As for quadding it, possible but not really effective... However, I did land a dual line kite on a guy's head at Kite Party this year, true story. I was on one of John Chilese's kites and nailed a really solid fade in perfect wind, could control altitude, position, so sweet. Too damned funny as well. <grin>
  5. I'll be here on my Mac, wishing I could try this software.
  6. Winner is... .... .... Darin Fong, subscriber #479! Congrats Darin, enjoy your new kite. Will announce a new prize next week, after I'm back from Louisiana.
  7. Hope to see some of you there... Kitelife - http://www.facebook.com/pages/Team-iQuad/2...41172682?ref=ts iQuad - http://www.facebook.com/pages/Team-iQuad/29132951132 Personal - http://www.facebook.com/pages/Team-iQuad/2...8423&ref=mf
  8. Right on, nailed it... Lee's own design, the Spectrum Dart. Nice job folks!
  9. Well done so far... 1. Who is this? Lee Sedgwick 2. What kite is he flying? (still waiting for the right guess) 3. Aside from actual modification, how is he flying the kite near himself? Aye, dogstake. 4. What is the major modification done to the kite itself? (hint: look at his hands) True, this is a quad-lined dual line kite... No handles, just a knotted rope that he cycles through his fingers. 5. In what city was the photo taken? WOW Laura, GREAT guess... San Francisco indeed!
  10. My pleasure Jon, you did great. Speaking of great, helluva first outing on a Rev for you yesterday... Looks like another forum has been added to your list.
  11. Okay, a few questions... Who is this? What kite is he flying? Aside from actual modification, how is he flying the kite near himself? What is the major modification done to the kite itself? (hint: look at his hands) In what city was the photo taken? Looking forward to your replies... I know the answers, just curious to see how far back some of your memories go. <grin>
  12. Hey folks, just a quick note, our latest issue of Kitelife is live a couple days early... http://kitelife.com/magazine/issue65/ Enjoy!
  13. Cool, I might be hooking up with Spz0 at my local field later today, hope to see this bag.
  14. The falling leaf is a much harder hit with the bottom lines on the first moves, and a lot more slack. Ya, Revs are not built for roll ups in the air.
  15. Sorry, I just did a cruise through my video lists, couldn't find a proper example. The difference is really obvious from the side view.
  16. True, but you'll get two entirely different results... The method you described tends to make a "whump-whump" kind of sound, and doesn't generally flic the kite all the way over so the back of the sail if flat to you. Hard hit with both bottom lines and a step towards the kite flips it over so the back is square to you, then another hard hit with both bottoms lines and a step back will flac the kite back to flight position... Sound is more like "SNAP-SNAP". All comes down to style, but I've found the latter method to be more consistent and better looking.
  17. Nice work Watty, I've gotta debate the method on that flic flac however... A proper flic flac is started with a hard hit on the bottom lines, and AGAIN on the same (bottom) lines to recover. This is contrary to the instructions you provided, which state that you basically hit hard reverse, then the forward lines. Just figured I'd offer my 2 cents.
  18. I've had the same problem with some of my promo vids, instead electing to replace the audio with one of the tracks they make available in that situation. Too bad, a lot of videos will lose the punch and context as music is changed / removed.
  19. Cool, thanks. I'm working on a "YouTube for Kiters", but it's a few months off, I think. News will hit the web when it's live.
  20. Can you post the direct link to your Veoh group page, so people can find it easily?
  21. Here are a couple of places you might be able to sell them... GWTW Swap Meet http://www.gwtwforum.com/index.php?board=28.0 GWTW Swap Meet Readme http://www.gwtwforum.com/index.php?board=27.0 Or... http://www.kite-classifieds.com Those are more likely to generate educated interest than eBay or Craigslist, since you'll be showing the kites to fliers.
  22. I'll be waiting for the vids.
  23. Yes folks, someone has released a Wind Meter app for the iPhone! http://goingapps.com/default.aspx Interesting, it calculates the wind based on sound readings from the microphone. Seems fairly accurate in fairly steady wind, but suffers in gustier conditions or when there is a lot of ambient noise.
  24. Wood frames, or fiberglass, or carbon? How many kites in the stack? Are these Hyper Pluses, Hyper Cruisers, or... ? I've got an old 12-stack of carbon framed Hyper Pluses myself, got it from Randy back in '93.
  25. Yup, not in the bag... Was kite only. Thanks T, both for the lines, and for donating this kite for giveaway! Go Kite Shoppe!
