  1. Hrm... Well... It's my parent's fault, really. I've also been known as Blaze (a moniker I picked up in the restaurant industry), IcyAir (from my old days on IRC) and Satori (a state of zen being).
  2. Holy smokes... http://home.earthlink.net/~lummas/Videos/S...ania_twain.html Seen this routine in person, always gives me goosebumps... This is the best video version I've seen of it (flight quality).
  3. Hi Ethan!!
  4. When did you first fly a sport kite? What kite was it? How did it happen? After your first flight, what was your first kite purchase? == My own story... I first came across sport kites in 1990, when I saw someone flying a Team Hawaiian on the Marina Green in San Francisco... I went out, asked a few questions, he gave me a 60 second tutorial and handed the thing over... In about 18 mph, and I only weighed about 90 lbs at the time! Needless to say, I got my butt dragged down the field and was hooked right away. I went and bought a Cheetah by Sky Toys the very next day. Running into the Hadzicki brothers (Jim, Joe and Dave) at an event a few months later, they showed me a Rev I and I bought one of those too.
  5. Wow, classic kite Quad KiT.
  6. Thanks Ant.
  7. Penny is about due... LOL As for you Ant, you just signed up! But you never know, we do use a random number generator to select our winners... It could be anyone.
  8. Ocean Shores... I generally attend the International Kite Challenge in June and Summer Heat in August, both put on by Cutting Edge Kites. As one of the "oldest" sport kite fliers here, I actually used to compete against fliers who used Tori Takos... I remember the pairs team Tori Tako as well, nice people... Odd fashion sense, but nice people.
  9. Just a few from my playlist... Prince ACDC Beastie Boys Beatles The Who Eminem Ludacris Creedence Clearwater Louis Armstrong Johnny Lang Saturday Night Fever (soundtrack) Yes, I'm a little eclectic.
  10. Tori Tako was a kite company based in Las Vegas during the early and mid-90's... Far as I know, they are no longer producing kites. The kite your friend has is likely better known by a model name, in addition to the manufacturer name of Tori Tako... 10 foot, wow! If you take a photo of the kite and post it here, we'll stand a better chance of identifying it.
  11. We're pleased to yet again announce the next prize being given away to our most appreciated supporters, the Kitelife Subscribers... 13. LOL - I just fly, but thanks. Team flying is SO much fun... Keep at it, even if you don't compete... It's one of the finest things I've ever done in kiting. Quad team, now that's a blast.
  14. Being a long time team flier myself, I'd love to hear or read more about Team Performers and Team G-Force.
  15. That's pretty much right on Chris. I generally click View New Posts as soon as I bring up the forum, since I've already read all the old stuff.
  16. Just realized, not only is it a Jordan Pro... It's framed in 2 wrap Advantage rods, also known nowdays as Rev rods.
  17. 10 years old, Tristan aced out ALL the big guns this last weekend... If I remember right, he took home two 1sts and a 2nd in Indoor, plus a 1st in Hot Tricks indoor. Nice work, Lam's really got his work cut out for him (as do we all).
  18. Hey Jon, congrats... Good to see you on the KL forum.
  19. That's a Jordan Pro. Dean gave me one in 1992, with a werewolf applique design on it. Nice kite.
  20. Happy Birthday Wen!
  21. How about them apples? Number 300, I guess it paid to wait, eh?
  22. Our pleasure Skyclad... If you're up for it, please do share your experiences with both kites once you've gotten fair time on them. The public wants to know.

Glad to hear it, Sven does a great job with his site. Heck of a nice guy too.
  24. Great suggestion Jim! Skyclad, if you liked the E2... I'm sure the Freestylist would be fine. I am very fond of this kite... A tremendous balance between tricks and precision.
