  1. Did I send you the thong too?
  2. With two exceptions... Sea Devil Mid-Vent (probably the best partially vented kite I've ever flown) Shiva Vented (still flies 85% as well as it's full sail brother) Both are favorites of mine.
  3. NICE! Yes kite-head, you are a full 50% sexier in that sweatshirt. The regular iQuad gear only increases sexiness by 45%.
  4. Magnum is okay... Decent flier, solid puller, but I had to strap $1.75 in quarters to the tail in order for it to trick easily. All in all, a good value, but not for tricking.
  5. I respect your sentiment about wingspan, but am curious... What characteristics are you avoiding by going with the smaller kite? Genuinely interested.
  6. Decent kite, the Mirage/Hypnotist... Quite heavy, but a decent performer in enough wind.
  7. I agree, flying in tough conditions makes you darned good... If you're patient, and work at it.
  8. Skyclad, where in the USA are you located?
  9. Sounds like you're on the right path John. Yes, I generally lay the lines over the upper spreader connecters so that they stay high on the leading edge until the unroll... There isn't a lot of connector there mind you, just enough to hold it until the kite gets to the end of the lines.
  10. I've never been a fan of the Nighthawk myself... 1. I find it has WAY too much oversteer right out of the bag. 2. When I tuned the oversteer out, it got real sluggish. Also, I do not find it to be very good at tricks... IMHO, the Acrobatx is twice the performer, although it is the more likely of the two to break.
  11. For anyone who is interested... You can also find DVD quality downloads (300MB and larger) on the videos page of iQuad's web site. http://www.iquad.us/videos.htm
  12. Nice work as always Stevie!
  13. Ready to fly some team, eh?
  14. Okay, I have a feeling that the liner will be done in the Royal Blue... It's a dark grey fabric, but still a bit lighter than the image background above. The outer shell we'll do in 3901, which is on black fabric. Sound right?
  15. The blue you used actually looks great, after looking at it for a little while. If I were to change the color in the names, it would be something in the range of 3901. This appears to be a little bit lighter/brighter than the Royal Blue you used in the example (3522?). Still not sure I want to change it though... Thoughts from anyone reading this thread?
  16. Actually, nix that... I think it looks great. So, to recap: 4 x Full size logo on back of outer jacket shell below hood line (black fabric) 4 x Small logo with name(s) on breast of outer jacket shell (black fabric) 4 x Full size logo on back of inner jacket shell, below hood line (dark grey fabric) 4 x Small logo with name(s) on breast of inner jacket shell (dark grey fabric) The other breast area of the jacket and liner is occupied by Columbia's logo and model information. We're still trying to nail down the last two jackets for our team, but please do email me a quote on all of the above when you have a minute.
  17. Almost... Anything closer to a lighter, neon blue? Also, in case it's a typo in your working files... Redington, with one "d".
  18. That looks really nice... Might do all the names in a light but Royal-strength blue however, just so they stand out more on the front of the jacket. I don't want the names to be so overwhelmed by the logo.
  19. Depending on your line length, there are a just couple of other ways to launch - aside from good old "off the wall", which some people prefer. For a regular throw, hold the nose of the kite in your power hand (right vs left handed)... Push tail roughly straight out away from you, releasing the nose... If the angle of the toss is right, and you step back fairly quickly, the kite should float to the end of the lines, then "load up" just above the ground, facing up. The dart (my favorite), is best broken down: 1. Hold your kite by the nose, so you are looking at the front (nose up) and the lines are clear (hanging from kite to hand, no snags). 2. Pull the nose towards you (tail away, belly down), and then continue that rotation until the nose is pointed away (on back, nose away). 3 Your lines should look like they are going over the front of the kite, around the back, and under the trailing edge before they reach your hands. 4. Now, holding the tail with your power hand, gripping with 2 or 3 fingers, like a dart, or paper airplane. (inactive hand can be used to support the far end of the kite from underneath) 5. Again, imagine you're holding a dart or paper airplane with your power hand and let it fly... Not a push, a flick of the wrist and a little elbow. If done correctly, the kite will sail out nose away, on it's back... Once it reaches the end of the lines, draw both hands back evenly and close together near the chest. Once the kite hits the end of the lines and you draw back, it should appear to unroll 1/2 way and begin flying straight up or a little to the side. (you might have to move back a little faster, or adjust the launch technique if the kite isn't reaching the end of the lines) (also, experiment with multiple roll ups - I've done up to seven indoors) I hope that made some sense.
  20. Thanks for your care Don.
  21. Okay, white stitch only... No outline. Colors will only be unique to the kite. Is that 90% width on the font?
  22. Did somebody say hats? http://www.cafepress.com/kitelife.59229032 We'll have to come up with some nice ballcap, embroidered ones though.
  23. ROFL Leigh! Don, can you do up a image sample of my name done in the same style as "iQuad", with a grey outline around the blue text? InkBurrow is TT, sending a zip file momentarily.
  24. Well said Penny. My weaker spots show too, just not as often perhaps.
