  1. Makes sense..
  2. I find this statement interesting and a bit concerning at the same time.
  3. Just to be a bit philosophical, We all do.. Most of us (myself included) strive for that and only rarely reach moments or flashes of that feeling.
  4. @Bigsnaff You should endeavor to advance your flying to the point where the kite is the limitation. At that point you start learning little differences in all the designs and can tailor your kites to fit your style AND your style to fit whatever you happen to be flying.
  5. Well variables like wind conditions and what part of the wind window you are in also play a huge part when you are learning. A little swirl will cause you issues and you may not realize the swirl was even there. those blessed with smooth beach winds will know exactly where I'm coming from here. The design of the sail, type of bridle and finesse of your technique also makes a lot of difference. Some combinations just back up better than others. And as your technique gets better, so will your speed. Be patient it will happen.
  6. Believe it or not, add another knot of brake if you can..
  7. So you can fine tune.. If you move in one knot at the top (3/4") and in one knot at the bottom (1/2') you've actually created a 1/4" adjustment.. You can effectively tune out very small inequalities in the actual lines..
  8. The measurement isn't super critical as long as your pair matches. First knot is generally anywhere from 5 to 6 inches out for top leaders. Usually around 2 inches for the bottom.. The Key Trick here is the even spacing for the top knots is wider spacing than the even spacing for the bottom leaders.. This allows you to fine tune.
  9. and just my thoughts on a response for discussion. Do we need to set guidance or somehow note that if no takers by drawing time, then a different item or combination of items must be offered until there is interest? Longer Timelines?
  10. Is Karma Dead? We have all been impacted by things way beyond the norm over the last year. Our last Karma drawing was well over a year ago and even then the last 3 attempts to have a Karma drawing had no takers. Is there still an interest in Karma drawings? KiteLife's Karma Drawings have had ups and downs with some hugely popular drawings and some not as much but to my knowledge, this has been the longest period of no action in the history of Karma Drawings. This is an open discussion so please share your thoughts and insights on if this tradition should be carried forward and if so how do we keep it alive?
  11. I think KHK's Line Hoop combos come from Premier..
