  1. We are on the same page. There are both sides to that conversation and validity to your observation. I'm the type to research value and show fully also but not everyone is.
  2. Trusting one person (even someone you know) with dibs and allowing them to state worth tends to be a losing proposition in many cases. I wish you luck..
  3. Sorry Mike, You are the only one that can't win this time. But I can

  8. COOOL!!!! @JWhartonEmbedded the video link for you in your original post..
  9. For the rat's nest (I called them bird's nests) I'll only say. Stop threading the needle with the presser foot down. Trust me. That's the trigger that causes the nest underneath. FWIW, That's not bobbin thread. it comes from the spool. The other issue is If you are using basting tape. You need to clean the needle regularly with Goo Gone or Sew-Eeze.. I clean my machine every bobbin. And My machine is nowhere near heavy duty. Lastly only bonded thread. the fuzzy stuff catches the gummy way too easily and that causes the majority of your missed stitches.. Avoid cotton thread. Use 100% Poly Bonded thread. (I like size V30.) I you are making something big, Consider V46.

NIKA (Not in Kansas Anymore) Bridle test went well but I have a small flutter with the trailing Edge that will nee attention
  11. Bridle test went well but I will have to add something to fix the bit of flutter along the trailing Edge. The longer black strips want to flutter a bit. May add a separate inset, panel, or additional Design element in those spaces.. Kite is quite flyable but there will be more to come. This one isn't quite "finished" yet..
  12. Thank You.. I try to learn something new from each kite.
  13. I did away with the Oz. I just didn't want to try and do any more fine detail in the center of the kite. Decision made and continued with the build. Ready to Frame and Bridle..
  14. getting there.

  22. @frob Sent you a link in chat that I'm sure you'll find useful.
  23. I can't speak for everyone but at least for me, the moment I flew something I made for the first time, it was worth it.. and that does not go away..
  24. The old post where a spar snapped into 3 pieces was likely in a discussion on the Rev Green Trimmed Rods.
