While I appreciate that confidence, I would also keep an open mind to other inputs. There are folks that fly kites way beyond the limits I put my kites through..

If that is the case,I'll retract my statement, I had been under the impression it was a Chinese Polycarbonate..

Four years later I have no complaints and the fold marks have not been problematic in the long run..

Icarex is a name brand for PC31 fabric.. Vertigo is a lighter fabric PC21 and the fear when the Vertigo was first released was the durability of the fabric itself. FWIW, Icarex is also a Chinese fabric. The difference here is the weight of the fabric and expected durability.. Having owned several Vertigos and a few Exodus kites, I have no personal complaints with the durability of either. I will note that the Vertigos have do a tendency to mar at the crease marks and that has been since the kites were new but I have yet to have a run, tear or fabric failure in either model. EXP is a beginner kite and its main basic draw is that it comes ready to fly.. Lots of flyers start with an EXP but very few keep them once they start to progress in skill (except to let others try them). It would serve your well to learn on, but you'd be wanting more once you get flying more. NYM is a bit higher end, but is a nice performer. It never really clicked for me. The B Series was the standard by which all other kites were judged for many years. If you can find a used one for a good price, that is a great option. If you have the opportunity to try other people's kites, that is your best single option, bar none.

The reason for the XX and RX and everything else in the Rev line at the moment is so they can add springs and still put the word "patented" on their kites and bags. The trademark for the Hadzicki design expired so ANYONE can make the shape now. After 20 years of getting feedback on how to make the kite better, folks like Bazzer, John Barresi, OSK and others are implementing those upgrades and making simply better kites. Rev added Springs and decided that that was the answer for everyone. They also changed their framing but not to be better, just to make it non compatible.

I owned one of the first ones that Paul ever flew and came very close to trading him mine for a very special kite I ended up just buying from him. .. I sold mine as well a few months later and haven't even considered at a new Rev since.

If you have extended leaders try increasing your brake tuning to the point the kite is neutral in the air. Then a more delicate touch (along with practice) will give you the reverse you are looking for.. I know it sounds counter intuitive (except for the practice point) but it's true.. IF you don't have extended leaders, that should be your next investment in your quad flying world..

Consider other brands as well. Djinn, Phoenix, Freilein all bring things to the table that Rev just doesn't offer. Djinn brings a unique Bridle and flying characteristics to the table. It also has reinforcements at points Rev just doesn't offer even though it was requested by the customers frequently. The Phoenix is made by one of Rev's ex-masterpiece makers and Offers several designs which also have the reinforcements Rev chose not to do. Freilein is simply the highest QC'd mass produced kite I've ever seen. I have yet to find an out of place stitch on one. I'd pick any o f these over Rev standard offers any day of the week.. If you really want to get a Rev, buy used.

I hate to break it to you but it's really the person holding the handles. All things being equal, ALMOST everything else including kite color can be overcome.🖐️

The Djinn Bridle would require some modification of the kite itself. Djinn bridles have 2 additional attachment points.

So I've started completely over with new material.. If this build goes south I may not try this deign again.. The angles are a bear to get right and symmetrical..

I had a Rev Bridle that was Red Black (2 color)

After a ton of chasing the shape, this kite will be a flag. I missed an angle early on and did not check symmetry before sewing.. That one angle throws off the shape of the sail by over an inch.. Yes I could finish it and yes I could make it fly. Bottom line, it's not a kite that I would buy so it's not a kite I would sell. This one will be a flag..

When it comes to Buggies, Boards and Kites, it only takes one irresponsible outsider to ruin a flying spot for years.

OK the meshing is sewn and I think the angles are close enough. The Bottom corners are not attached to each other, So I'll have the ability to get everything perfectly flat before solidifying that point.. LE will be Royal Blue. Still deciding on Edge Binding. thinking blue though. I may add another strip to each side to support the outer edge. Silver the most likely candidate in that case.

If this was referring to me, I think you misread my intent.. My offer was to @jmp23834 since I know where he lives and we frequent the same flying spots.. He also doesn't own a Rev which excludes him from Club 38.
