I'm getting back "up and running" (slowly), with the new computer, but for some reason, I'm having a problem with the sign-in, here on Kitelife. In the past, once I signed on, I could close the website, close the browser, and even close down the entire computer, then when I came back on, and clicked on the Kitelife icon, I came right to the forum "new content" page. Well, that is happening now, but I am having to sign-in every time. I don't have to do this on other websites, such as the Rev forum. Whenever I go there, I'm signed in and ready to go. Anybody got any ideas............as to what I'm missing. I can still get on and do whatever, but it's a real pain to have to sign-on every time I leave and come back............. Thanks............nick

SR.......not that this is important, but it is interesting.......(and yes, I suppose we are hijacking someone's topic here) Anyway, I wonder if your "tell tail" reference, used in your (trade) application, isn't some sort of industry specific, "evolution" of words, and/or spelling. Even though it is a direct reference, to your so-called "tail drum", it still seems that the term (no matter the spelling), fits the noted definition. Somehow, I suspect that through the years, the spelling evolved (or was changed), to more definitively describe it's specific use - "in your trade". The fact remains, whether it's "tale or tail", it is still a visual indicator of the status of the situation, mechanism, or system at hand (in this case - a conveyor)...... It "tells the tale", of the conveyor. I spent 30+ years in the textile industry, and I was constantly amazed at the terminology that we used, that meant something entirely different within the confines of the industry, than it would in the outside world, and many of those terms had been "conveniently" altered or adapted, down through the years, simply to better fit the application at hand. Who knows ?? ref: Wikipedia - a tell-tale, or telltale, is an indicator, signal, or sign that conveys the status of a situation, mechanism, or system
-
Yep, I immediately noticed the "tell-tale"........And I knew exactly what it was there for Now just to get clear on this, it is, "tell-tale", as in, it tells the "tale", of whatever is going on ! or, per Wikipedia - a tell-tale, or telltale, is an indicator, signal, or sign that conveys the status of a situation, mechanism, or system, and in this case - the wind direction. I know, I know, but I just had to throw that in......... (Merry Christmas everyone)

So Rob, what's up with the "No Kites" sign. Why would they care ?
-
Yep, great kite to learn on, for sure. As you mentioned, nothing to break. I've got the older version, which was called the Stylus. I always use that kite if someone wants to learn. Once they've got the two line concept down, you can usually let them land, then hand over the reins of a regular dualie, and they are off and flying.........(hooked for life) Prism Stylus P2

Dan Leigh XFS Delta (I'm feeling kinda stupid & down)

Yep, I've clipped a few sea gulls with the Rev, and with the dualie lines, but never really had any damage. I did T-bone a big old osprey one afternoon. I was flying a dualie, out on 100' lines, and cruising the surf line. He was one PO...ed bird, for sure. Glad he didn't put two and two together, and decide to attack (me), but I don't think he ever put me and the kite together, but he sure did give that kite a few evil looks, before taking off for other parts....... (Oh, and nobody crashed & burned) -

Yep, I thought about it (the second kite idea), but the wind was just too "swirlie", near those trees, so I abandoned that idea.......I do understand the concept, and have actually done something similar, with a hook suspended from the second kite, like a tail, and allowing it to run up the line, of the kite that was hung up ! And yep, it worked that time, and I considered that method also, but again, the wind was just swirling in the area, so it was a "NO GO", on a retrieval kite.........The kite was buried deep in the tree, also ! Oh well, that's history now, and I got a "Little Bear" as a replacement...........haven't even flown it yet Thanks for the kind thoughts, though ! -

Oh my, begging will get you no where, but good luck with that -
Appreciate all the "well wishes", but like it or not.............."I JUST HATE CHANGE"ing, from something that is working perfectly well. I loved my old computer....I knew where everything was.......I hate the new one, and NOW, it's on it's way back to LENOVO............for re-imaging.........of course. Tech Support only knows two things - we are sending a box - and - we are going to "RE-IMAGE", your machine. We don't care that you have just spent a week, trying to put all your stuff on it.........now you can do it again.............. Sheesh ! What ever happened to "Customer Service" ??? (again - no appropriate emoticons) "I'll be BACK".................(later)

Well, I was for a while. Got email working, got on Kitelife for a few posts, watched a couple of old You-Tube music videos, checked email again, and then went in to eat dinner. When I got back to the "new" laptop, all I had was a "black screen of death". Just came about, all on it's own - nobody even near the computer, and now, everything is locked down tight. Can't boot-up, can't shut down (except forced shut down with power button), and when I restart it with the power button, all I get is the same black screen, immediately. Actually, I'm getting close to taking it out back, and working on it with the 12 gauge ...........(Pretty fed up, at this point) So to answer the original question.............back to "creeping along with the old equipment", plus quite a bit lighter on the hip ! Thanks for asking, though ! ps.....I would insert some emoticons at this point, but there are none on KL, that quite fit the way I feel right now, nor would they be appropriate for the website

Hanging in there....................Happy Holidays, if I forget to mention it later !

I would prefer to compare on a "one on one" basis, rather than "six on six". I like my arms, right where they are at !!
-
This perhaps? He looks like he's really enjoying himself!! N O T !!

Yeah ! That's just what the Delta Hawk needs, a little bit more pull. That little "demon" about pulled my arms out of the sockets, this summer.........that Flizz is a pretty little kite, though ! Sure does make a fuss !

Yep, as they say, "Keep it in the Family"........

I don't seem to have either of these signals. I don't see a "little red circle", nor do I see a chat link, at the top of each page. I also don't hear any doorbells or clicks ? Now this could be due to me "not knowing anything about chat rooms", or the antiquated equipment, that I am currently operating on, these days. I suppose I'll get there one day..........
