I went to shaped wooden pistol grips, anatomically fitted to each hand, mike van meers custom 100 bucks, easy to "rock/balance" on one finger!

Just be aware that some rod suppliers have firmer foam than some others. I have sets that use a very dense, firm foam and a set of JB's with thick, but squishier foam. Many options, just gotta look....

I've never been a fan of "finger notch" handles because the style I've developed has my fingers roaming up and down the grip by as much as 2"-3" depending on what I'm doing (higher favoring forward and lower favoring brakes), but its all personal taste.

almost everything becomes personal taste after learning the basics, we both have easily visual identifiable styles for movements of bodies and kites

There's a website in the UK for company called Sinclair & Rush who sell foam sleeves and handle grips with various internal diameters, wall thickness and lengths. Plus they say they are manufactured in the states, maybe they have a website there.
