sunkenfish
Hello everyone. I recently inherited a collection of kites, 12 total, with a large ten slot kite bag, 21 dual line handles with line ranging from 75-120 feet, and 90-120lbs, and 12 sets of wrist straps. I am looking to sell the collection, and I am asking for help determining what all I have as I am not a flyer myself. Also would like opinions on the best way to sell (piece it out, or sell as a whole). I am interested in reviews on the individual kites, performance and value. Basically any info you can offer would be greatly appreciated. From the research I have done I seem to have everything from the basic begginer kite to some more desireable advanced kites. Thank you in advance for any info. Kites shown in order from upper left photo are as follows: 1. adx skyburner, 2. flexfoil pulsar 180, 3. HQ Tramontana, 4. Inak skyburner, 5. Line reels and straps, 6. Mojo #159 by blue moon kites, 7. HQ phoenix, 8. Shiva by Caveliers du ciel, 9. STX 1.8 by caveliers du ciel, 10. STX 2.3 by Caveliers du ciel, 11. HQ M-performer, 12. Addiction orange by premier, 13. Addiction Grey by premier.
RobB
You would get the most by selling the kites individually, but it would take more of your time. It looks like you have about $100 worth of lines, maybe a little more. The ADX, Mojo, Shiva, and STX 2.3 are each worth a little over $100, while the Pheonix, iNak, Tram, and STX 1.8 are worth around $100, and the rest are worth $50-$75. This is considering that they are in good or better condition. They're all nice kites, but not really kites that fetch a lot on the used market. If you bundled them all together and sold them on eBay (for example) started the bidding at $1, I would expect them to fetch maybe $400-$600. Keep in mind, they will cost ~$50 to ship all together, or $10-$15 individually. Also, the bag might be worth ~$30-$50. Good luck... and by the way, there are a few local flyers in your area, they fly at Samuel S. Lewis State Park. Maybe they can help you sort them out better than me from pictures... sunkenfish
Thank you for the information. Just to let you know. The ADX, Shiva, stx 2.3, stx 1.8, mojo, tram, flexfoil, and orange addiction are either brand new, or flown 1 time at the most. the Inak is missing one of the small rear supports, and the grey addiction has two of the small rear supports that need to be replaced. There are no rips, tears, or broken lines on any of them. I will see what I can find out about Samuel S. Lewis state park. Thank you again. John Barresi
Hi, sorry for getting here late, but this might be a useful reference... http://www.kitelife.com/general-topics/buy-sell-trade-used-kites/ Nice kites BTW, big fan of the Shiva personally, I've flown both it and the Tramontana in competition.
