Ideal choice of equipment for this class is any model of Revolution 1.5 (includes EXP, SLE, B-Series, printed specials, etc) or similar "1.5 platform" models (like Phoenix, Freilein, Los Hermanos, etc) - we'll go through painless equipment set up, good tuning and all aspects of flight - the goal here is to demystify quad flying and set you up to win.

Registration is $175 per person ($150 for KiteLife Subscribers) and includes full access to the clinic on both days (10a-4p)... Please note, there are ONLY 12 SPOTS left available and we expect them to fill up very quickly.

If you're coming, we start the "Quad 101" portion of this class at 10AM SHARP on Saturday morning... It's jam packed with invaluable information and first time attendees are encouraged to consider attendance mandatory, lots of little details that add dimension to your set up and flight experience.

For anyone who needs equipment or parts while in town, you can get pretty much anything you need from the Cath and Eliot Shook at Flying Smiles Kites right there in Corolla, just a few minutes away from the field.

Hope to see you there!

I'm absolutely stoked to be able to commit to this. The vast majority (ok all) of my other events to date have been day trips. Looking forward to a great weekend with kite friends.

I'll bring the lights, We HAVE to do a night fly at some point during this event..

AND Payment Sent :D

Been chatting with Cath and Eliot from Flying Smiles Kites (the nearby kite shop) an they said Whalehead would be tight for us - so we'll use the main beach area at the east end of Corolla Village Rd. ;)

I've been told there is parking, bathrooms, etc, and the shop is SUPER close by if you have any surprise repairs. ;)

Ah man. I Never planned dates with my husband...Almost NEVER. Well I bought concert tickets for April 8th in Annapolis, and he knows about them. I shouldn't even be thinking about going to this but here I am typing to y'all. Arg.

Our last pre-planned date (get ready for the irony folks) was to Flying Smiles kites for my first quad flying lesson....And we all know the "date" part of that was in part to minimize the guilt over doing something I wanted to do during a extended family week at the beach. I don't see anyway to swing this one but hasn't stopped we from thinking on it....

What linesets are recommended? (length) Ordered 2000ft of 100# Skybond today. would make a 500' set 😀

At Atlantic Beach JB was using 120' skybond set.  This is a good question for JB.

120' line set for team flying is the standard and also for clinics, unless otherwise stated. For individual coaching it doesn't matter, but you will want to fly with the others attending. JB will instruct you on whatever you have, however, so don't panic.

Have fun, smile and don't forget to breathe is all you need to know.

120' x 100# Skybond is my weapon of choice at clinics, gives a bigger wind window and will allow team flying (which almost ANYONE can do with me leading)... For my own bag, I also carry 90'x100# and 30'x50#. :)
