wow, what a Dream, flew like an angle, floated like a feather, turns on a dime, but flies a straight line like it on rr tracks. all this in 1-2 mph winds if you could call it wind. barely enough to feel it on your face. With very little effort. fun fun fun kite in low wind. Pics coming later. No tricking yet though, I won't let him till he has more time on it. here's a pic. That's my boy with the kite, his kite. he almost pulled off his first ever 360 on the first launch. It went about 3\4 the way around but the wind caught it a little and he lost it at the end2 points

From the album: Riffclown's Homemades
This commissioned sail has been completed and is ready for initial flight tests.. this one is as close to an exact 1.5 size as I could make it and still be faithful to the pattern. I don't usually make an exact 1.5 size and the sail isn't as tight as one would expect but a simple glide tests was surprising. Bungees are left long for the moment to allow a bit of tweaking if required. This sail has the wear strips, LE Tabs, fold relief and is set up to allow French bridles and magic stick at the request of the owner. You could even put springs on it if you so desire.1 point -

Also, the first time out with your Rev, dinner and a movie is good. Just remember to leave it in the car or people will think you're weird.1 point

I agree about the wind, wait for good learning wind. When your kite stops bouncing or taking over control then start expanding your wind range. Also, clockwise and counter-clockwise may be less confusing as they stay consistent no matter the orientation of your kite. "Right" becomes "left" when inverted. Hitting kite festivals is great advice. Traveling to another flyer- one who is really experienced and likes teaching will feel worth, believe me. Getting good wind and a teacher together can cut your learning curve dramatically. That said you can do it on your own, and learn really well with patience. Just remember:. This is All about consistent well built muscle memory. Check your hand and body position frequently. Set appropriate baby step goals. Remember to breath....breathing normally will really help relax your body and mind in a way that helps. Don't forget to channel your inner Jedi. Thanks Edmond. Toronto area is a bit far unfortunately. And thanks for the correction on the date for the festival. I'm now seeing it on the 14th although one website still shows it on the 21st. How confusing.1 point

at Wayne recommendation i will ad 2 options option 1 - any mid, full or extra vent sail will do. full vent with a light frame and 50# line will fly like a mid-vent using some footwork. 4-5 days per year you will need that extra-vent. option 2 - buy any full sail is cheap and make the vents yourself using a soldering iron on any pattern you desire how long you have the same percentage left-right of the sail1 point

I remember your old page, along with Kitelife, it was one of the pages that got me started on this journey. I think I remember a photo contest from the old page...1 point
