  1. FYI - Into The Wind is KiteLife's longest-running supporter, advertising non-stop since the magazine started in 1998. George Emmons (ITW owner) is a good friend of mine, they run a really good kite business.
  2. Weird - ZIP file is typically universal, any system should be able to decompress it. Inside it are folders and files that contain what you need.
  3. Any idea, the model of his kite?
  4. Bow bow chikky chikky wah wah... I still have my Sea Devil Mid-Vent, framed with Aerostuff (oooooohhhhh).
  5. Wolf knows wolf.
  6. Hi all, just curious if anyone out there in KiteLife land has the graphic skills to make some cool new kite-themed emoticons? Here's the development package, I think it's for Photoshop... emotgdk.zip Have a go, post your creations here and if they're popular we'll add them to the forum!
  7. He definitely earned that strut at 4:45 in the video.
  8. We've had twenty more come on board, this is really, really great.
  9. I like your beach Rob, it has texture... WAY better than a flat field.
  10. Half off, since the Rev sticks are on the wrong side - right? lol Just giving you a hard time bro - I know. FYI - http://www.kitelife.com/general-topics/buy-sell-trade-used-kites/
  11. Wow, hadn't seen the new STACKItalia page, looks nice. Mike, can you confirm... I heard there is a clause that makes it possible for an international participant to fly in Euro Cup, is this true?
  12. I used to have a 7-stack of 4-footers, serious fun indeed. Five 8-footers would be insane. lol
  13. You think so, eh? Come on 0-0-0, big winner!!!!
  14. All hail the master, Richard Debray... Really kicks in at 3:20 in the video. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BfpP433GaVU Just watching him makes me want to go fly!
  15. Great, keep us posted.
  16. You guys are slaying me. lol
  17. ----Nose back is the longer of the 2 knots at the top bridle attachment point? Yes, exactly. Yes, sliding the weights inside the short sleeve... Make sure the velcro is WELL affixed as well. I'm on my third since the kite was released a year and half ago, so every 6 months so far. lol (of course - I fly hard and long on my gear - ride it hard and put it away wet) Def try to meet up with Rob or Reef, they both have a good amount of time on the Kymera and can impart a lot of experience. Cheers Barton - I hope you enjoy it as much as I do.
  18. You may find that shallower sailed (slightly shorter standoffs) and less "pitchy" (or less trick-oriented) kites may do better in somewhat turbulent wind due to their stability - all comes down to taste, but good for though as there may be a balance you're looking for.
  19. The power of YouTube is amazing... If you want to sometime, grab some video and link it here on the forum if you'd like tips - nobody here picks on anything, all encouraging.
  20. Haha! Hey, kites for for the flier, not the seller(s). Most of these guys are closer to your "point in time" than I am, their advice would probably be better than mine anyway. Let me ask though... 1 - Where in the world do you fly? 2 - Average wind speeds there?
  21. Hi Glenn, welcome to KiteLife! Based on what you've shared, it would seem to me that something in the $150-$200 class would an ideal next step, using 80'-110' lines (more airspace in which to play). With regard to specific kite recommendations, I'll leave that to the folks here who are more familiar with what is available these days. Keep on coming back, we've got a good group here and we're always happy to help a fellow flier!
  22. ROFLMAO over here.
  23. Here's the key...
  24. I got into the local community center's basketball gym... $10 per hour during the week, as long as it's not already booked. No seating space, but a full court is better than a stick in the eye!
  25. That's love I tell ya! Very nice control, especially considering the added weight of the lights.
