  1. Ah, yep - green monster it is.
  2. Yeah, the bug you'll catch at a Rev clinic is something you won't mind having.
  3. Rumor has it that Guildworks *still* has some kite orders they haven't delivered from years ago. Too bad, such a rare and unusual kite studio.
  4. Added the Mega Plutz, Wala XL, iFlite Vented and Guildworks kites to the poll. Pardon the lack of order, but there are votes assigned to some of the kites, and they'll go wonky if I change the order.
  5. Not being so familiar with Guildworks single line kites, what models would you suggest be added to the list?
  6. Indeed, gliders are becoming more and more popular every day. After you vote, post your favorite glider video(s) below! == Good references: Article on KiteLife - http://www.kitelife.com/industry-news/the-glider-craze/ Glider Geeks - https://www.facebook.com/groups/232378193482957/ Please select your favorites (as many as you like) in the poll above, and DO let me know if another kite needs to be added - any suggestions should be "available" for purchase by others, somewhere, somehow. NOTE: If a kite is added to the poll, you can always click the "delete my vote" button under the poll and reapply your votes, including any new additions - thanks! == My first real outing with a glider, in 2007, on a Borelli (I switch to the glider at 5:05 in the video)... I'd literally started flying one that day, and was suitably moved to fly it in a demo with Nelson Borelli himself looking on.
  7. We're pleased to yet again announce the next prize being given away to our most appreciated supporters, the Kitelife Subscribers... For roughly 10 cents per day they play a major role in keeping KL growing in every way. This is a brand new Crossfire (2012) sport kite by Dodd Gross, from Skydog Kites, roughly a $139 value! A good all-rounder and trick kite, this is a great addition for any intermediate/advanced flier - http://www.skydogkit...crossfire.shtml I've actually had personal time on this model before, it's a great trick kite, I liked the way it handles on it's back (jacobs ladder, etc) == If you haven't done so already, You can sign up here. Odds of winning for this prize is currently 1/324, and will be drawn on April 15th, 2013! Our thanks, and the very best to you... Let the drooling begin.
  8. Hi all, Just realized I forgot to announce this here on the public area of the forum, my apologies. We've got a Rev clinic scheduled for May 4-5, 2013 in Long Beach WA! We've already sold 6 out of 20 total spaces for a full weekend of teaching and coaching. Full info here - http://www.kitelife.com/?page_id=38251&action=evregister&event_id=2 Active KiteLife subscribers are also eligible for a discount on registration. FYI: We're starting to develop a true Rev curriculum that should help students set goals and progress more rapidly - the next several clinics will be a progressive, adaptive process as we fine tune and expand the concept. I think you'll all like where it's going. Thanks, hope to see you there!
  9. Our light set up on iQuad, captured with long exposure... http://kitelife.com/forum/gallery/album/340-iquad-night-fly-at-wsikf/ Check the album description for a link to a great, related discussion on the Rev forum.

  17. Another fun thing to try, have someone track your kite with one of those super-powerful halogen flashlights (like a spotlight). This would be a mini version of what they do in Europe, where they use both halogen spotlights AND flood lights... (me and Steve de Rooy playing with Dom Guimond and Jessica Larche in Quebec last year) The ground lights illuminate anything that passes through the otherwise dark sky, and the spotlights dial in on highlights.
  18. "I feel so pretty..." The BEST, great approach to life.
  19. Maybe foosgrabah?
  20. Although this tutorial was done for Revs, the length/weight ratio is fairly universal. Length starts at 4:26 in the video, first part has to do with weight (also useful info).
  21. Okay, that's a little creepy. lol
  22. My high actually goes up to about 35-40 mph (on PRO Xtra Vent), anything over that and there better be one hell of an audience (unlikely).
  23. Believe or not Rob, it all comes down to hours and exposure... I wasn't attuned right off the bat. I've been fortunate to spend immeasurable hours flying in my 23 years, with blessing of regular contact with top fliers. Time and information, that's what it comes down to.
  24. I appreciate you bringing this topic back to life Barton, but it's inactive at the moment. Right now, other than welcoming new subscribers, this is our only fundraising project... **LINK REMOVED**
