  1. Yep, he was actually first in line this time. lol
  2. Yes indeed folks - dates are confirmed for WCRC VI in Long Beach (WA), and registration is now open! http://www.kitelife.com/enroll 12 people have already signed up since we put the form online, just 13 spaces left - get 'em while they're hot! 3. Ha ha, you must have known. List updated, and wow... What a veritable ARMADA of kites, almost enough to stock a store!
  4. +1 vote for video!
  5. Nick is no saint, but he'll do in a pinch - seriously, couldn't happen to a nicer guy.
  6. Great stuff, puts me in the holiday spirit to watch you fly, every time.
  7. #818... Naughty list (i.e. expired). #437... Naughty list. #600... Naughty list. #950... Naughty list. #017... Naughty list. Oh ho ho ho, could it be... ? We've found someone on the good list - #590! .. .. .. .. .. .. .. Merry Christmas to Reef Runner - Santa is smiling at you Nick, and this Kymera is coming home to you for Christmas! (please send me an email with your shipping address and we'll get it out in the mail this week) Thank all for playing, I hope you have a wonderful and amazing day, and an even better year to come. Really, truly, it's about family and friends. Play, love and be merry!
  8. Good morning all, and Merry Christmas!! Give me a sec, I'll come back with a present for someone. <grin>
  9. And here I thought my expenses might go down, ah well - it's all good!
  10. Nice pick Jay, happy flying brother!
  11. Hear hear, HAPPY HOLIDAYS to one and all - have a safe and happy one, thanks for being a part of the Kite Life.
  12. Not trying to be difficult, but what is the difference, compared to these? http://www.ict.griffith.edu.au/anthony/kites/rotor/ http://www.kiteplans.org/pln_310/ http://www.prismkites.com/products-sl-flipkite.php http://es.kiteplans.org/planos/rotor/modern_ufo.html
  13. Ah, also... We *just* enabled the new "Minify CSS and JS" feature, which is supposed to make page loading a little faster. Anyone notice a speed difference as you move around the KiteLife forum?
  14. My pleasure - and the quote boxes are working now as well. ANY lingering issues that any of you are aware of? At present, all seems to be in tip top shape, please confirm.
  15. Just to confirm I know what you're talking about, the quote box shows when replying or editing a post, but does not wrap the quoted text when you're just reading a topic and posts like normal, right? If so, I'm aware of the issue and am already working on it, thanks - stay tuned.
  16. Okay, uploaded the new files - should work now, hopefully? Testing on my iPhone with the $250 Gift Certificate topic in Current Drawings (3 pages), I'm able to browse all three pages with no problem - please confirm.
  17. Ya, I need to update the TapaTalk plugin, next on my to do list - will hopefully resolve the problem. Stand by please.
  18. I've been to Treasure Island event three different years and have had a ball every time! Great venue, huge representation of skills, interests and regions... Well worth the trip. And as SteveA said, don't be shy, folks LOVE to help out and share the fun, jump right in and say hi. Alas, can't make it myself this year, just not in the budget.
  19. I moved your post over here Wayne, because it's not related to KiteMail. As you know from the Rev forum discussions, we're still ironing out a couple of small issues amidst me being really sick too. Patience please, we're working on it.
  20. Thanks for cross-posting this here Mike, we've got a few artists on the forum - hopefully we'll see some great submissions.
  21. Here's a skill-sorted list of the tutorials, provides a better order of progression. http://www.kitelife.com/video-tutorials/#tabs-index-tab-1
  22. Assuming you have Midwest light to medium winds, especially variable speed, a standard (non-vented) sail would probably be ideal, but there are a couple of choices left to be made. Tons of first-time buyer info here... http://www.revkites.com/forum/forum/27-buying-your-first-rev/ Looking at the Kite Connection's website, it looks like your certificate would totally cover an SLE ($188 on sale) w/ add-on 90# line set ($50)... A call or email to Dave at the store and he'll sort you out, he's a longtime Rev dealer and a skilled flier himself. Two SLE colors at that price... http://www.kiteconnection.com/cgi-bin/store.cgi?session=2888167z8zrNsNXHSg1355569328&username=&lang=en&session=2888167z8zrNsNXHSg1355569328&username=&lang=en&act=product_view&id=743&cat=&return_action=category&SQL_START=%200&SQL_PAGE=12 http://www.kiteconnection.com/cgi-bin/store.cgi?session=2888167z8zrNsNXHSg1355569328&username=&lang=en&session=2888167z8zrNsNXHSg1355569328&username=&lang=en&act=product_view&id=189&cat=&return_action=category&SQL_START=%200&SQL_PAGE=12 If you think there's a chance you'll really like it, all bias aside, I'd suggest serious consideration of the B-Series ($299 w/out lines)... Comes with two frames, better performing sail design, tuning leaders are already on the handles... Around $150 out of pocket, but a darned good value if you're keen. Regardless, the SLE is still a great kite with the addition of $2 worth of bridle line for DIY tuning leaders. And last but not least, as a subscriber, you also have full access to all the KiteLife video tutorials. Have fun, tell us all about it!
  23. Here we go. #194, expired... Whoa, that didn't take long, second try! #969, our lucky winner is Jay Farlow (aka Hoosier on the forums)! Congrats Jay, nice one - sorry for those who didn't get drawn, still two more great prizes (Kymera and B2) on the table in the next 2 months! Good luck to all, sometimes I wish I could play favorites but that friggin' RNG just won't budge.
  24. My guess, Invision might be upgrading our forum software as we speak, creating little oddities until it's done. Oh, look at that.... 12:48am PST... <grin> Back in a few!
  25. There is a definite trick dual line style in there.
