  1. Where to next Jynx? We going to see you this year?
  2. The RNG doesn't take personal queries, it seems to only communicate above-board. News... Looks like I'll actually be staying in Canada for another week (St Honoré, Quebec) after PacRim, but TK will be home on the 12th so we can still ship the Widow Maker to our lucky winner in short fashion.
  3. Ah right, true enough Tom... I spoke with them, just didn't put 2+2 without the prolific red shirts.
  4. Good guess Tom, not so far off...
  5. I was floored to see exactly ZERO attendees from IKE in Grand Haven this year, surprising with it being so close... ? Pete, thanks again for dinner on Friday, and for your general friendship. Gerrit (Racer), awesome to see you again, you and Mac (please say hi for me) were doing GREAT, keep up the good work!
  6. Aye, John Mitchell is perhaps the foremost historian for Rev kites. He's done a great job, thanks for sharing it here Bryan.
  7. Hi Terry, welcome to the forum.
  8. 1. A fade is where the kite is floating on it's back, nose toward you. 2. A turtle is where the kite is floating on it's back, nose away from you. It's also possible to spin the kite from either position, which changes the trick into... 1. Fade + spin = backspin (any number of repetitions). 2. Turtle + spin = lazy susan (repeats are called a multi-lazy). I hope that helps.
  9. Hi dprod, I've been on the road since Friday - just getting caught up now. Looks like you got a lot of good info already, we have some passionate and knowledgeable members on this forum. Alas, we have only one dual line tutorial (assembly) on www.learnkites.com at the moment, but have plans to add many more as time and conditions allow. You might also try a simple search on YouTube for "kite tutorials", there is a lot of good stuff out there, although not much with picture in picture like ours (hands + kite action).
  10. Hi guys, just an FYI - apologies in advance - looks like I'll be in BC on prize day, the drawing will probably be held on 6/12 when I get home. As consolation, I'll put up something really yummy for the next one.
  11. It's a good enough track, but doesn't push my buttons personally... Hard to explain, I don't know squat technically about music so I'm not sure how to describe it. Something about tempo, segmentation (chapters of program) and emotional rise.
  12. Since the RNG is a long time friend of Kitelife's, it's come to my attention a couple of you have tried to sway the order of things by adding RNG to your friend's list... While one can't have too many friends and it's certainly welcome, RNG says not to expect any special treatment - unless you DO get special treatment of course, as this is the nature of random things. <grin> I'm glad RNG finally decided to make an appearance, but I suppose it was really an invocation.
  13. Nice one Watty, well done finding that info. Old New Tech, wow... I'll be interested to know how it is, since old NTK wasn't real high up on the performance list.
  14. Get them muggles! Nice. New Tech is a solid mainstream kite company, right up there with Sky Dog as well, and both are strong Kitelife supporters.
  15. Heya Hoodoo, sorry to say I've never heard of that model... Any idea who makes it? And... Cost, framing, sail material?
  16. Hi Hoodoo, welcome. Here are a couple of places you might be able to find other fliers with... http://www.kitemap.org http://www.aka.kite.org/local/resource_finder.php?region=8 Let us know how it goes, we encourage you to share pictures and any good flying spots you find along the way.
  17. Absolutely awesome Ben, thanks for sharing it over here.
  18. Our pleasure Jim, enjoy it!
  19. Aye, can't go wrong with either vendor - Highline or Windswept, both are run by top notch people.
  20. *yawn* Alrighty folks, we've got a winner! Drum roll please… The SDT power foil is going home with subscriber… 6… 6… 7… Yep, lucky number 667, James Mason! Congrats James, I know you'll have some good times with this baby.
  21. Highline Kites has also just started stocking iFlites, west coast... http://www.highlinekites.com Side note, I bought my first kite from 20 years ago, and we now handle his web site.
  22. We're pleased to yet again announce the next prize being given away to our most appreciated supporters, the Kitelife Subscribers... For roughly 10 cents per day they play a major role in keeping KL growing in every way. == This time around, a return to the prize pool (thanks Rob) - the Widow Maker STD by Skyburner Kites, MSRP of $345! 23. *snicker* Hey Bear, that ain't poetry... It's RAP.
  24. Looks great Walt! Just skimmed your site for pricing, nothing added there yet? Also, any chance of seeing a tapered spar in future models? Thanks for making such cool toys.
