  1. True. Weight, Flying Experience, Conditions including wind gustiness all come heavily into play to make the right choice..
  2. You must be talking about the Symphony Beach.. I found the Symphony Pros to be well built and quite sturdy. I currently have several (modded) that I use to introduce new folks to four line kiting. If you've looked at my vids or related posts, you know my message on this particular kite is consistent and has been for years...
  3. Last I heard, he was trying to decide between modding a Symphony, picking up a HQ Alpha or looking into a Skydog Powerfoil.
  4. @John Barresi Agreed, and I've "tempered" my original post accordingly. I'd like to also point out that in all those examples, the individuals have mastered their craft before making the dangerous attempt.. If somone is trying canyon runs the first time they jump with a wing suit or triple flips the first time the ride the motorcycle then they are far more likely to be a statistic.. All that being said I'll also touch back to my comment earlier to @Mikelp3586 Please enjoy your kite with great regard and know how to fly it safely. If I can personally be of any assistance in helping you in the world of powerkiting.. Let me know..
  5. My only point is the mishaps happen with the smaller kites. The 3M is ideal to learn to fly on but never to jump with..
  6. Great kite. Take your time and learn everything you can about that kite. Know instintively where the power window is and don't be afraid to just let go and thust the kite killers if needed. In factpractice letting go. It is a lot of kite and needs to be respected. Start in very low winds and find your zone of confidence. Fly safe and don't put yourself in a situation where the kite will surprise you.
  7. This is dangerous advice. ANYONE who has experience jumping will tell you the safe entry size is 5M (no smaller). Anything smaller will get you airborne but does not have enough float to land safely.. They will also tell you to start with a 3M kite to learn to fly but not to even think about jumping until you are ready to fly a bigger wing. Most common jumping size kite is 8M. While Jumping is sensational and attracts many to the powerkiting side of the sport. It also inherently carries the highest risk. The sport of Power kiting is plagued by people who ruin our opportunity for flying fields due to inexperience and unwise decisions..
  8. 1 & 5 The asymmetry helps the look in my opinion..
  9. @Paul LaMasters How did your stack throwing turn out..Is it going to be in your EIEIO???
  10. So far the fabric seems to be holding up well. My full sails are in a stack and i know the throw launching isn't easy on any of the components..Granted I don't fly every day but I'm still pleased with the materials so far
  11. Great place to fly. The Rogallo is one of the events I try to make every year. I actually see me in your picture.. I also see a very special Rev stack that now belongs to @photomom. Jockey's Ridge deserves another bump as a great place to fly. This year's Rogallo festival Dates are Jun 10, 2017 - Jun 11, 2017 http://www.kittyhawk.com/event/rogallo-kite-festival/ As for the event site OBSKC was held there last year (2016) in conjunction with their Brewtag festival.. This year the events are separate and the OBSKC is moved back into Sept (Sep 8-10) http://www.kittyhawk.com/event/outer-banks-stunt-kite-competition/ Here's another pic from 2015
  12. Great wisdom there..I only wish more people felt that way..
  13. Sorry but I'm tired of biting my tongue.. I literally got thrashed and verbally abused when I posted a review of the Freilein Kites, they didn't care that I had also posted a review of the Reflex and even a Trifinity Printed Rev. I'm not compensated by ANY kite company for my opinion or endorsement, so ... As for other personalities that have evolved the Revolution brand for them, I agree with you on every front, Without folks like JB, Bazzer, Eliot Shook and a few others, Rev would not have been able to maintain their market as well. Sure they took a very good shape and turned the kiting world on it's leading edge but they had a lot of outside help in refining the design. There's always been an "IN" crowd and then everybody else. As much as I hate to say it like this, It seems like their family memberships may have expired along with their patent.. You have to also mention the many dealers that Rev has decided to directly compete with on many fronts. That's a tough pill to swallow when you've represented a brand for so long and they decide to market directly. It kind of makes you wonder if there's another reason they named their most recent offering, The Reflex..
  14. Here's the decal I made for my truck at least a year or more ago. The spattered look was intentional.. (see 2nd graphic..)
  15. I'm absolutely stoked to be able to commit to this. The vast majority (ok all) of my other events to date have been day trips. Looking forward to a great weekend with kite friends. I'll bring the lights, We HAVE to do a night fly at some point during this event.. AND Payment Sent
  16. If you can find it Xerox makes (or at least used to) Digital Color Windows Decals for Laser Printers..
  17. Personally I use it a lot.. There are a few regulars that drop in.
  18. It seems like we have issues around here if someone throws a cup of ice out his car window. fahrschule.swf
  19. In all seriousness. I sincerely hope everyone is OK.
  20. What an odd place to park. Hopefully he is aware of the alternate side of thestreet parking rules for that area.
  21. I DON'T have to shovel out my car to go to work tomorrow..
  22. I'm in at Lucky 10 if it's not too late..
