Concur..

Ditto, None here either...

Understood and I haven't seen an Exodus. I was just attempting to correct and clarify that the Exodus is the higher priced one. The materials used in it are the far more familiar fabrics to the kiting community and Wayne said above, Icarex is used in many brands and "should" be good.
-
I can answer that. The feedback on the Fabric is on the Entry Level Kite which is the Vertigo.. The Exodus which is more expensive is stated to be the more familiar Icarex. Entry Level Kite (read lower priced) Vertigo series is crafted with 1/3 oz. polyester sail. Higher Priced Kite is the Exodus series and is crafted with 1/2 oz. polycarbonate/icarex sail.

I agree it's a good looking kite. It does use new materials that haven't been vetted in the kiting community.. Durability of the sail itself is still an unknown..

Freilein Vertigo and Freilein Vertigo Max. a review

I noticed the Vertigo prices went up on OSK's site this weekend. -
Very nice job.. Love the Bananas..

That's enough for a stack. Seriously, I envy you for being able to make the trip and spend the time with a master.. It was his B2 video with the catch and throw that inspired me to want a Rev in the first place.. I'm not a master but I do watch tutorials and I'm willing to try just about anything within reason. It's always fun to learn.

From the album: riffclown's kite album
The Freilein Stack fanning out during a throw launch.. -
Bringing this back to topic.. I've been solidifying my position on the original question.. I'll probably continue to have a mix of Rev and Non-Rev (Freilein, Home-Made and others) quads for my framed four liners.. I can't see getting rid of my B-series, Old Glory SUL, Ghost SUL or my Shook.. I like flying my printed sails but unless Rev releases a must have for me, I don't think I'll shop for those in the future.. I might pick up any given sail on any given day, second hand. Keeping my eye out for a B-Series Pro though.. I've never had the good fortune to own one of those but it's on my WANT list.. I want to fly a Phoenix but given the up front cost, I'll definitely have to fly before I buy.. I'll always have my Symphony quads and whatever Powerkites meet my fancy at the time as I am primarily a power kite flier.. On the Power Kite Side I tend to favor the HQ Kites brand..Toxics, Crossfires etc..

Thanks,, Found a bit of music on the YouTube site that actually seemed to fit the video well..Added that to the experience. Side Note. Thank you @Bill Clay for throwing the link up on Facebook for me.. Found one frame in yesterday's video that show the stack fanned out nicely..

For the basic start everything in the tutorial for catch and throw of course applies.. Adding the extra dimension of the stack means you have to think of each kite's throw somewhat individually until they separate and become a unified stack. For the Launch, I Split the kites at the front very slightly so they separate quickly.. If they don't start separating as soon as they leave the hand, the chances of the stack lines fouling increase quickly. Shortening the stack lines helps to decrease those chances. If they separate too quickly, the stack will stall out and fall to the ground before your get to the ends of the flying lines.. A bit of experimentation was needed to get the toss just right. Just a fingertip of separation at the toss works for me. Here are a few stills from the vid to show the kites going out at 3 separate angles and how it affects the glide of each one until just before they become a stable unit.. I'll be increasing my flying line length incrementally until I can do this on 65' and then 80' lines (Hopefully.) ..

The distance between kites in my stack is about half of normal stack distance.. I'd really only have to catch the front and back kites to make it "look" right.. My one "successful" catch worked when I dropped the handles, and accidentally did just that.. i ended up with a kite in each hand and one suspended between. But it took much longer to straighten everything out to relaunch..

So now the cat is out of the bag on whay i asked about short stacking lines... It was so I could throw launch the stack..

Looks peaceful..

Thank You.. Been working on it for a while but the secret to success seems to be shorter stack lines.. Means less can go wrong..

Those of you that hang out with me in the chat room know I've been talking about this for a while. I've done it successfully a few times with my Rev Stack... With the new stack, and shorter stack line and 35' flying lines, I was able to hit it about 90% of the time. Today was the first time ever twice in a row and the first time for video.. I don't think I've ever seen anyone else even try this.. Enjoy!!

Freilein Vertigo and Freilein Vertigo Max. a review

I can't answer all of your questions but OSK answered mine. As for the company, they answer their phone. Their number is available on the OSK site or their Facebook. For example, they also adjusted their Bags based on consumer input (mine) in a matter of hours and it was the first time I'd ever talked to the guy. I'm pleased with the craftsmanship so far. Still way too early to make a opinion on the durability of the materials but you can bet, pro or con, I'll post my opinion here. I'm not compensated in any way by this company or their competitors so you can bet my comments are based on MY opinion. Right now it seems to be a decent product at a decent Price. Only time will tell. To respond to some other questions. per the OSK website, "..sails sewn by master artisans. All materials cut by computer guided laser, perfect every time. Dyneema and Dacron bonded no fray leading edge. Invisiclear-no grind, no stretch, anti-wear strips. Kevlar center reinforcement. HP Core, sheathed, round braid, black bridle. Vertigo series is crafted with 1/3 oz. polyester sail. Exodus series is crafted with 1/2 oz. polycarbonate/icarex sail." -
Stack Management and Transport

My Rev and Freilein stacks are only 3 kites so i tend to roll those up leaving the stack lines in place. That may change as I add additional kites.. -

If I get above 5 deep, I'll pack flat. I carry a lot of kites and favor portability. The way I fold my stacks keeps setup simple and straight forward.
