Wow 2 minutes. I'd be slightly impressed. Best Iv'e done is 1:36 in 18 mph winds on my Pro Dancer. Alas no video or witness. Pretty bored with the trick YAWN. Doubt I'll do it again. Didn't think there would be prizes like that!! Can't compete but this is cool. Get to watch my 1st kite competition .

Please do not take this the wrong way but I have watched this video many times trying to gain some insight. Just watched it a couple more times. It is hysterical. Tears have flowed. I keep watching the kite far right 2nd from top. The determination of that flyer is FANTASTIC. Keep imaging how I'd be acting if that was me. The many oh no, excuse me, not again, what the hell,so sorry. Kite veers off out of camera range. Pretty soon back it comes wobbling for position. Few more oh no,so sorry what the hells off it goes again. Pretty soon here it comes. Then down it goes taking another with it. First time I watched that I thought I was going to pass out from the laughter. Little bit later much to my delight here they both come.More gales of laughter and a bunch of you go flier,go,go,go.Makes me want to buy a quad and take a road trip. I'd fly with that person anytime. No quit in em.

I'd post a video of my 12th 4 line flight but after watching that my fragile ego couldn't handle it. Because of size , shape or both Riff?

Had goats for food at one time. Wife has been threatening me with dairy goats for 30 years now. Lot of work but their meat, milk and cheese is fantastic. Eat anything but tumbleweeds. If they'd eat tumbleweeds probably have a small herd of 500 or so LOL. Farm them out to other places to get rid of that nasty stuff. Still think that size was a good choice for me and mine till we learn more. Spent a lot less on a kite today then I had planned for. Looks like my next foil will be coming sooner then later. Spiderkites 1.2 neon. 10 to 45 stated wind range. Going for speed not pull or power .

Had 4 of my grand kids out today. Winds 0 to rarely 8 mph. Kids are 5 to 7 and were so excited when we went out. My snapshot 1.4(170 size) needs 10 to fly. Kept hollering we want to butt slide. A lot !!! Love my Pro Dancer but they think kites should pull . 1/2 hour later one said it's pretty Ponca but you should have got pink. Sigh girls. Can we go chase the boy Alpacas now. They did. The males love it but the females not so much. Kids have all learned quick that messing with the girls gets a big green really stinky gob of spit right in your face.

Sky Dog starter package! (Apr 20th, 2018)
Breezin replied to John Barresi's topic in Current Drawings
STIGMA!!! Oh my foul, foul unfair advantage to Frob. Good wishes and happy birthdays give an unfair Karmatic edge. Yeah, well alright happy early birthday Frob. I got married on March 23rd uhh let's see, err 1,2 3, uhh okay many years ago and Frob joined the forum on March 23rd.My 2nd grand son born on April 18th. If there is a karma war starting here in fairness to others we should both have JB withdraw our numbers cause one of us has to be a shoe in. You go 1st and truuust me I'll go 2nd . -
Finally nice winds this morning. Early running 0 to 3. Got out my PDSUL. First time out since it's first repair. Being a rookie I knew I was going to be hard on that kite. Really lost confidence with it and still don't know what I could have done different.. Hasn't been any winds for it till today and the situation kind of festered. Really thought about selling it and getting a sub $100.00 kite to bang around on. Contacted a couple people a few days ago about it. I am very happy that I kept it. Hey wait a minute, hold the phone. One helped convince me to buy the thing and the other sold it to me !!! After this morning so glad I did. Winds picked up and got to fly the WMP for a couple hours. Wow I don't even no what to say yet except as I hoped it is a lot different than the Hydra. Took a break, winds picked up and flew the Hydra for about an hour or so. It was pretty cool how the winds gradually increased. Winds started hitting steady 18 to 20 and kite and I did well. Went 20 plus and started staying around the sides and top of the window. Feeling pretty pleased until the bumps started coming. Kite lost pressure twice and was rolled to the ground. Wasn't near as bad as last time in this stuff and got the nose turned into the wind belly down pretty quick. Don't think the gusts went over 25 mph but it gave the impression of bellows. Didn't want to stop but I am learning some patience so I did. Put the kite away and sat there for awhile just enjoying the wind. Until today when winds got to high I left right away bitching all the way to the house and then some. After watching that bellowing type movement, no not billowing and no not bellowing like a Bison. Bellowing like in a forge, I started to finally get some clarity on venting. Very cool day.Gotta love that wind.

Revised list of kites for sale (originally over 2 dozen)
Breezin replied to Deb's topic in Kites for Sale, Swap or Trade
Agree 100% Frob if still for sale will take it was included and people sometimes back out. PM to Deb earlier. She said contactmics inquiry was for her sale pending. If Contactmic didn't get it would have assumed I was next inline. Don't have a quad yet but I think it's a great deal. Like you when kite re described my eyes lit up. Other places an inquiry is not pending. I'll take it is . Deb has been super cool doing this and she has to do what she is comfortable doing. I could have been 1st and she could have said no I do not want to sell to you and I would have been okay with that too. Bidding war naw I think things could get unfriendly fast. Auctions are fun. -

Took the reference to 1.2 quad mushiness was size not brand. All this time when Iv'e read the term dog stake I thought it referred to the ground stake for the long walk. Was always slightly confused. Well now I know. Dog staking looks like a blast. Might wack myself a few times but I'll try that. Planting a Blue Spruce tomorrow morning. While the digging tools are out I'm going to plant a dog stake too.

Wow Riff I'd be a fool not to take you up on this. Whole left side of my body has slid across the line and for the life of me I can't drag it back to the light. If I had a neon 1.2 I'd have been flying yesterday. We had sustained 40 mph for a bit. They say at high speed you can whump the baffles right out of that kite. I'll convince the right side of my body your kite is coming for a visit to teach me how to repair blown baffles. It is very agitated. It's the side that controls the wallet. Have been very tempted to get the Flexi 1.2 quad. For the price it seems just the line set with handles would be a descent deal. Read what you said about the mushiness and haven't considered since. Glad I saved my money. I'll pm my address. Oh wow everything around me has a slightly grey tinge now. Seems to be getting darker around here.

Breezin replied to Deb's topic in Kites for Sale, Swap or Trade
I'll take it. Fix it ,vent it and see if it'll fly in 40 mph like we had yesterday. It would be a great learning project. Let me know the cost of shipping. -
Riff Clown AKA the Busy Beaver!!! Very, very nice.

First time a kite knocked me down I wasn't even flying. Looked at the price of a Fearless Light Vented [man I want one]. Got light headed, knees buckled and fell flat on my face. 2nd time flying the Addiction got to laughing so hard forgot to breathe. Woke up looking skyward with a big grin on my face.

Wow SHBKF I want one of those too !! Is it a Gentleman? Last time we were in Vegas looking at dozens of hot rods and exotics at a show Wife stopped and pointed to a car pulling into the lot. What is that she asked in awe. It's a Maybach I replied. Now if I can get her to look at kites with that same discerning eye her life will become more enriched and mine a little easier. Last Cadillac I had could fly. Well once anyway. 18 wheeler running a red light knocked me 62' thru the air. Killed the car but not me. Getting close to 6 years later and I still thank that Cadillac. Just did . Oh my a 1960 black 62 series driving south from Kona to the southern tip of the Island. Flying on green sand with another kite out along the weed line catching dinner.Later eating dinner watching land being formed off to the east while the sun sets. Hawaiian snow wafting thru the air. Little beer, little Tequila. Cozy sleeping bag and in the morning do the same for breakfast. Now that's something the Wife would go for. Note to self call travel agent for bribe arrangements before calling Tim Benson.

Relax folks had beans last week. It's kite kind not that kind. Flew the Hydra yesterday and winds went from 1 to 15 the whole time.Should have flown the foil. Now I think I understand the term bumpy winds. Never got my dance on and spent most the time trying snap and slide stalls.Good practice but felt kinda blah. Wind would load and unload sail before I knew it and spent a lot of time regaining control. When I went to take down the kite I realized I had been flying with the red sleeve at kite and red strap in my left hand. No wonder my timing was off . Yeah if it was that easy most of us wouldn't fly. Got my new Widow Maker Pro std. today. Set the kite up for pics. Had some questions and called K&FT. So excited I could hardly talk. Really!!! Winds were pretty similar today but thankfully Iv'e learned some patience.Did some stalls but mostly just flew.1/2 hour in winds started gusting 15 mph + and put it away.Flew my foil for awhile and had a good time. Thank goodness it relaunches 95% of the time. Really has helped my precision on the frames zipping that thing around close to the ground. Read the laments of many who have got their new kite only to have to wait for good winds. Sometimes days. Got a little more empathy now and I even got to fly a bit. Sigh just when I thought I was getting the wind figured out a bit the season changes. Hopefully when fall comes I'll remember most and won't have to learn all over again. Had such a good time on the foil today really thinking the Spiderkite 1.2 is gonna be here sooner then later. It really never will end will it. There are just way to many cool kites.

SEE, SEE you people are just awful. My left arm just about yanked me over LOL. Hurts a bit.

Caution, caution, caution but calculated risks are exciting. Winds gusting over 15 today so I flew the 1,4 snapshot for about an hour and a half. Iv'e had my 10 and 12 year old grand sons in similar winds but not over 20 and right there with them. If your girls are pulling bows and good shots they will want the excitement. Pull on a kite is different but still pull. Another cheaper kite to consider is the HQ Delta Hawk. Lot's of speed and pull with 1 of the highest wind ratings.Framed so be sure and duck. Better yet stay out of the way especially in 40 plus. Less of a learning curve than power kiting. OSK has a Whizz which is supposedly HQs fastest kite for $85.00. I'd probably ruin it but you folks could fly it. Researching and learning is 1/2 the fun huh . Once you learn aspect ratio the learning about all kites becomes easier.

Ha got a wife who is not to happy with my last acquisition. AHHH seems like my left foot has just slid over the line.

Go to the GWTW forum. For sale are a bunch of Flexi-Foils.One of the top rated foil makers in the world. Some 1,2 quads in that price range that are brand new. That's close to 1/2 off. Flexi says they tested the kite in 50 mph winds. They have wrist bands that in an emergency de power the kite. Just make sure they're adjusted for the flyer so they work. Couple years ago the Synapse took the place of the Snapshot. My Snapshot 1.4 will pull nicely in 15 to 20. Over 20 pretty good work out. It relaunches with a couple yanks to get the baffles pointed into the wind. Don't know much but I do know over 2.3 do a lot of research. Understand aspect ratio and go from there. Over 2.3 you can get in harms way real fast. Look at the Spiderkite neon 1.2. Clocked at over 120 mph. That's my next foil and it's $89.00. Got some more learning to do first. Here's an example. Out in 20 plus. Took a break and staked the kite. Relaunched pulled out the stake and went a 1/2 mile south. That is my longest walk of shame so far. Live on the prairie so no trees but barely missed a barb wire fence. Nearest house that way is a mile off. If it would have went that far might not have seen it again. Neighbor likes anything that flies .The Synapse 140 has polyester lines[More stretch],170 up have dyneema.

THIS is the hardest pull to the dark side.
