  1. Old post but I'll see if I can remember it off the top of my head. Flying left to right, pull with the left hand to start the half axle, as the left wing goes flat, pull again with the left hand and step forward? Sound right? ummm
  2. I've looked at them and read how to do them on another site. I just don't think the MEFM does the yo-yo. Getting it to wrap isn't a problem. The lines keep sliding down the leading edge. So I end up with a double tip wrap. Luckily I have spent enough time wrapped up to know how to get out of walking that looong 100' I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong on the back spin. Can do'em up high but not down low. Try it over and over. I'll either get it or break something trying.
  3. Thank you very much for posting the tutorial. I know it'll help a great deal. Thanks again
  4. Be a bummer though. I don't think I'll have my Illusion fixed by then. So that only leaves me the MEFM. But then again, how many of those would you normally see? I don't know, is it a common kite. I always like to be a little different
  5. So I'll just have to keep an eye out. I haven't been to a kiting event in years. Is there room to fly with everything else going on in Lincoln City?

    Back Spin

Up high in the window I don't have to many problems with this. But at lower heights the nose drops and the kite recovers everytime. Just don't seem to be able to get it to spin. Any ideas?

    Airbow

This may sound goofy, and I'm totally sold on the B Series. Anyone flown the Airbow? And if so, whats it like compared to a Rev? Just curious.
  8. Sometimes I feel that way to Ant Man. Me too. Some said my family had no consiedence..... Something about I got it all I'm just kidding. I am so happy that if I can't go out and fly with ppl I truely enjoy, at least I can yak with ppl that exceed that expectation.
  9. Absolutely! So are you incharge of the loud speaker?
  10. Cool, I can't wait. I'd say I'll be there with bells on, but I'm odd enough on here. Can't wait to meet ya'all. Would it be apropriate to get on the loud speaker to let you know I'm there and ready to meet ya? I'm just kidding.
  11. I call it the Box of Fix. It's called the Box of Tricks. But if you really wanna learn the trickin part of flying, I don't see it being beat. You can literally yank a line, step forward and the kite self recovers. When I tried changing the bridle it became the box of fix. Stock you'll never snag a line, and it'll make a beginner look pro. And it's a cheap kite to buy. With 8 to 10 mph your in the sweet spot for this kite. LOL just don't change the bridle if you get it at some point
  12. It seems like the 3rd leg is only there to keep the leading edge from distorting in the higher winds. In lighter winds it seems like there should be a very slight amount of slack. If they are to tight the 3rd leg with change the angle of attack and mess with the turning ability. I think anyway. My indoor Synchro has the 3rd leg. Just there to keep the leading edge from distorting if you happen to over power the kite or get a gust.
  13. The plan is to buy the B series. I'm thinking about the Teal pattern. As far as the no sew sail, thats just for fun to see if I can do it. If it works, it'll be strictly for indoor flying.
  14. I will make contact with the athletic deparment within the next few days. Mainly to get some ideas going about an actual festival/compitition going. I don't know how to really get all this going. But I'm working on it anyway. I'm hoping to get this started at the Oregon State University Indoor Practice Facility. I thats not an option, maybe Gil Colisium at Oregon State.
  15. The IF is the biggest part of it for me. Getting the football team out of thier facility is proving a little tougher than I thought it would be. If I can get in, it would probably be late July or sometime in August. I'd love to get a Comp. going or something like that. But I doubt the University would go for a festival or the likes right off the bat. Start small and work the way up? The place really has me drooling though. A full sized football field. Don't know how high the ceiling is for sure, but 30' lines shouldn't be a problem. I'll keep working on it. Maybe they'll eventually allow some sort of event. Help me ya all cross your fingers
  16. Since getting an account on this site, I have been viewed as a geek too The Prism Illusion was my favorite kite before I had to stop flying. So I'd imagine they have kites more capable than what it was. I don't remember a trick or angle that the kite couldn't perform smooth and consistant. I was looking at the Quantum Pro. What changed my mind on that one was the wind range or the lack there of compared to the kites I remember or fly. And the price for a 16mph wind range. Ouch. I have typically 1 to 6 mph winds here. If that.
  17. Sorry, that last post sounded funnier than it read Anyway........ As far as kiting goes, this site is my only kiting outlet. So if when I'm typoin' I'm just nuts and well, I don't know Had a thought and lost it. I may seem a little odd, or like, ummmmmm, well you fill in the blank. But I don't get outta the house much
  18. I almost forgot, remember what the average wind speed in your area is too. I have to consider 0 to 8 mph average.
  19. Most of the time I think the pilot makes the kite. MOST of the time. How much is it, and what else out there compares? Not trying to change your mind, but I'm in need of a new dually for trickin' and I'm curious too. Currently I fly either the old MEFM or the pre 2000 Prism Illusion.
  20. I WILL be at this one. My first one back after an accident. Who's going to be there? I want to meet everyone in person. Say hi and fly.
  21. Is Mr. John better? It's just so hard to not call my kiting hero anything less. Fine, I'll go with John. Better
  22. I'll have my lights on in Albany Oregon this weekend. Hope someone comes to find out whats up.
  23. "The kite keeps going the oppisite way I pull on the lines." Line were on backwards
  24. "Did I break it"?
  25. "So if I'm pushing instead of pulling right, where does the kite go"?
