  1. Perhaps "Dream Team"?
  2. I think they're both great! I designed one that looks similar to the second one. I love asymmetrical designs, but just never got around to sewing any.
  3. I looked at it and I like it. Here's a couple I designed but never got around to building. Use them as you wish. If nothing else, they may give you a few ideas. I have many more designs I made. If you're interested I can e-mail them to you.
  4. Some people underestimate things all the time. This is not one of those times. The devil made me do it. If you practice every day for about 10 hours a day for about 20 years, you should be able to beat his ass in competition without breaking a sweat. I have this same dream every night, and believe me I always practice in my sleep. In about 20 years I'll have the dream in which I beat him. Maybe, if he stops practicing in reality. What about time travel? Are we there yet?
  5. "2.75" ripstop? Not 0.75 ripstop? That is about 3.5 times as heavy as 0.75 ripstop. It will feel like a brick on the end of the lines and require monster inputs to do anything and will react to them VERY slowly. You may want to get some lighter material.
  6. Don't always go with your first choice. If you think it will be weak at that point, reinforce on the back side. I think that large triangle in the middle is not the way to go. This one looks like a few of my designs.
  7. I think Breezin meant his top end achieved with the kite.
  8. Don't do 40mph on the beach. It's like standing inside a sand blaster. On grass it'll just knock you over once in a while. When you're done cutting the panels, you'll have a bunch of small scraps left over. Practice and adjust your machine using those.
  9. It's a 5-footer with a recommended top end of 25mph. Low end is 6mph.
  10. Pentium processors are more ancient than I am. The processor in conjunction with the amount of ram your machine has installed will determine to a great degree what your computer can handle. Check the minimum system requirements for the software you intend to run. If your computer does not have at least the minimum of ANY of the requirements it will usually not open the file, or if it manages to open it then it will probably run erratically, if at all. Windows 7 is a capable platform, but it is not as efficient as 10. Win10 takes a little bit of getting used to it, but it's not different enough to be a nightmare. At some point in time you will need to upgrade. The applications being produced today are much more sophisticated than what was available even only five years ago. It's either sink or swim. The newer stuff just won't run on old hardware, or old operating systems.
  11. Well, that didn't take long. He says he can't afford it right now, so it's fair game for anyone who wants it. Heck, I would buy it myself if I didn't already have a ton of quads.
  12. Thanks. I'll let him know it's available and let you know if he wants it.
  13. Mike, nice deal. With lines and handles? Line length? I may have a newbie that would be interested.
  14. Damn you John! I can't afford any more quads. Damn you! Sigh.......
  15. If I was in that competition I would have resigned after seeing that! P.S. -- I tried clicking the LIKE button 50 times, but it only toggles.
  16. Are you making your own bridles?
  17. Nice. I lack the motivation to display mine like that. Good job and nice collection.
  18. Foils for getting the kids started, for sure.
  19. Could be ELO -- Extremely Light Option.
  20. We'll need to fix that personality flaw. No sweat on your end. It's painless. Involves excessive smiling.
  21. Go here: http://wardley.org/index.html. Click on the "kites" tab. Read. Understand.
  22. Nylon ripstop stretches quite a lot on the bias. You'll need to be very careful with weave orientation or otherwise compensate for it by undersizing the vertical dimension of the sail. Of course, with as many as you've built, you probably knew that already. P.S. -- Looks great and appropriately named.
  23. That third photo is awesome. You should send a copy to AKA. They would more than likely use it in one of the upcoming issues of the magazine.
