  1. I use my ears, they are accurate within 1-2 mph.
  2. Aha, missed this earlier... I believe that the Blast handles are 13" handles, but have a slightly more open bend to them, essentially making them a hair longer. Reason this comes to mind, I LOVE the look of carbon wrapped handles, but wasn't comfortable with the different bend.
  3. I'll let you know after I get back from the Rev factory in 9 days.
  4. You know, a Wii game is a neat idea... But, I think it's enough that we spend so much time on the net talking kites. We ought to be out flying more, for real.
  5. Ahem, I might put in for that Neos first if it goes up for sale. Great news on the B-Series, be sure to post your personal experiences here on the forum!
  6. Ugh, NO REVS?? *chuckle* Just giving you a hard time.
  7. Very similar to my story. I'm glad you're still around Mike!
  8. Alright Mr. "Elite"... Better start posting more, eh? Well, aside from posting a bunch more, the easiest way to change from "newbie" is to subscribe to Kitelife... See Bugly's post, just before yours. http://www.kitelifers.com For those not in the know, if I remember right, Hyper Kiter was part of the "Team Elite" group... A stable of fliers, flying in a couple of different teams for the Hyperkites manufacturer (Randy Tom) in the mid-80s and very early 90s at the beginning of sport kiting's hey day... A fine era. My first year in sport kiting was 1990.
  9. Wingspan should be based on the assembled dimensions, never seen "flat" dimensions used in advertising. Was this a retailer, manufacturer or a cottage kite maker?
  10. Want to get some Kitelife or iQuad gear for friends or family? 11. No clue what plain sails cost... Ben could tell you easier than I.
  12. Yeah, http://www.goodwindskites.com/ is top notch... http://kitebuilder.com/ is a reputable source too. However, I lean towards Goodwinds since she is an avid supporter of Kitelife and KiteBuilders is not.
  13. I'm guessing that was Art St Pierre, a long time Rev enthusiast from the Northeast. He's well known for buzzing the boardwalks with his vented Rev II.
  14. Hola Miguelito, welcome to the forum.
  15. I agree completely Mike. The venting DOES improve reverse flight and stability... And, true Revs do fly better.
  16. Right on, I know you'll enjoy it. Had to go and make it personal, eh?Yes, I think I'd have an issue with that scenario... I wouldn't have any legal grounds, but it doesn't feel ethical to me. It should be noted that these builders (like www.sportkite.com) are buying plain sails from Rev, and appliquing on them. In the case of the masterpiece series, the artists are making raw sails (unfinished) which are then finished by Rev in the factory with leading edges, reinforcements, bridle, frame, etc. This is the conclusion that many of us have come to in the long run, as long as it doesn't get out of hand.
  17. Monkeys, wolves and bears, oh my! lol
  18. Never give up, never surrender!
  19. ****HOWL****
  20. Dog staking a Rev is one of my favorite pastimes... At no time have I ever felt closer to a kite, emotionally and spiritually.
  21. I am the wolf with little red riding hood... And Hector is the wolf hunter... I have a feeling, there might be a message here.
  22. David Brittain did a dogstake design with four rings, all side by side, in the early 90's... You have them positioned four-square, which makes more sense to me.
  23. Their patent on design expired a little while back. It's commonly accepted as okay to make a few for personal use, and not for resale. Rev WILL sell all-white sails, if you're just looking to do an applique project. Real Revs fly better.
  24. Nice work Hector! I hope to see some of these things first-hand at Kite Party, end of February! Are you going to be there again?
  25. Bad Monkey, no more bananas.
