  1. We're pleased to yet again announce the next prize being given away to our most appreciated supporters, the Kitelife Subscribers... For roughly 10 cents per day they play a major role in keeping KL growing in every way. Spirit Man, roughly a $120 value! You can sign up here. Odds of winning for this prize is currently 1/247, and will be drawn on February 25th, 2007! http://www.kitelife.com/prizes/spiritman52/index.htm Our thanks, and the very best to you... Let the drooling begin!
  2. You can indeed... If someone wins, they just skip entry in the next months drawing. So to be clear, Egan isn't eligible for February's drawing (to be announced soon)... But will be in the running again starting March. Did I explain that clearly?
  3. Aye, there was a sneak peek of the new kite in our subscriber section's first Rev tutorial, added a few days ago. As if we aren't teasing everyone enough already. Don't forget, news and photos in our daily updates from KTAI.
  4. Drum roll please... The winner of this great prize is: Egan Davis - Subscriber #188 Congratulations Egan! Our new prize(s) will be announced within the next 1-2 days.
  5. Mmmm... How ya like that lemonade? Sounds sweet to me.
  6. Well, some fliers would argue that it gives you more control, by having to move the handles less... Also, in light winds, such long handles enable you to really effect the angle of attack. IMHO, I've always felt that handles of such length provide more potential over control, and have chosen instead to do a little more "working" of the kite through arms, shoulders and foot work... I won't say it's better, but my quad comp record certainly says something about it. If you take a poll of the successful quad line competitors, I'd guess that 80%-90% of them use 13" handles. One thing for certain, extra long handles DO allow you to whip the kite around a lot more... Axels, Flic Flacs, etc... All much easier, and more consistent.
  7. Yup, I think those are 20" handles... Been available from Rev for the last few months. I could be mistaken, but I seem to recall that they come standard with the Rev I now... Not positive though. Too much handle for my needs, haven't spent much time on 'em. Photo, L-R: Mark Lummas, Joe Hadzicki and Jim Foster.
  8. You're the man Steve, well deserved.
  9. A big Happy Birthday wish goes out to my teammate, I'm for ya!
  10. Nah, distance is okay for us... But we're waiting for confirmation from the organizer about local support.
  11. I was reminded that there is a 75' rule for lines at Kite Party. After further consideration, IF I can get iQuad's long lines (120') cleared with the organizer... Due to the limited space, we'll be limiting the mega fly to capable Rev fliers. Indeed, there isn't a lot of room and we'll go out of our way to not cut into anyone else's fun. Anyone who knows me will know how serious I am about keeping a balance for everyone. Kites are fun, we'll do our part to keep it that way. For all those quad fliers who are learning and want to join in on the action, come up to WSIKF later in the year and we'll give everyone a shot at joining in on the fun.

If you're on the list and won't be able to make it, same thing, please let us know. Let's blow this festival wide open with some quad goodness! This thread is also going on GWTW, found here... http://gwtw-kites.com/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=31911
  13. We've just added our 2007 schedule to the site... http://iquad.us/main.htm#schedule
  14. You'll do great Penny, you always make lemonade out of lemons.
  15. I've had extensive experience with both LaserPro and Berry Blue since 1997, in a multitude of comparable conditions. Aside from the blue mess they tend to leave on my gear, I've most often broken Berry Blues flying team. Get any binding or crossing in them, and they've been quick to snap.
  16. I tend to prefer LaserPro, as it's been very durable and smooth for me... I've broken a lot of Blue Line in my time. Also, I've liked Shanti at times due to it's softness, whereas LaserPro does tend to be quite stiff when it's new. I haven't flown on a lot of the premium Climax, but I've heard good things about it.
  17. I'm curious about our member's line preferences, and why. You can select more than one of the options, if applicable.
  18. Thanks Ant... I almost wept a little when I was flying that Adios Nonino routine.
  19. Hi Oded, I can certainly vouch for any of the kite stores you see advertised in the pages of Kitelife Magazine, although there a couple of those kite store owners who also use this forum... They're likely to say hello, and will take good care of you. To help people answer your questions, perhaps you can answer... 1. What is your budget for a kite? 2. Is there something you are looking for, besides durability? Some kites are especially durable, some are better for tricks or precision, some are better for light or high winds, etc. Another consideration, with your location, is replacement parts... Both delivery and cost.
  20. Kitelife... Looks like your Rev forum sign up made it through okay. Again, I must apologize. Thanks Glenn!
  21. Nice windshield decal Theresa.
  22. The actual SLE design (dimensions) have not changed... Not sure about materials and such, some of the other forum users might have info. Also, I mis-identified your forum sign up as a spam attempt and deleted the account... If you'll be kind enough to sign up again, I'll be sure to approve it. Thanks for your patience.
  23. FYI, for travel, some people also like the Flambeau Bazuka tubes... (sorry, shameless plugs, I know)
  24. You'll now find nine new demonstration videos and one hot tricks competition video in the Kitelife Subscribers section... They've been added to bottom of the page in each of those categories. http:/www.kitelifers.com Here's the total video count from the subscribers section as of today: 15 Festival Videos (medley footage) 32 Competition Videos (including the World Team Championships) 18 Demonstration Videos 6 Promotional Videos 1 Tutorial Video The biggest difference between most of these videos and the ones found in our public video archives? The subscriber section offers iPod and larger resolution (720x480) formats for most of the videos, whereas the public archives are all in 320x240... Additionally, there are quite a few videos in the subscribers section that you simply won't find on the main site. If you're a subscriber, be sure to post back here and let everyone know what you think of the vids!
  25. Thanks for the added comments guys, greatly appreciated. My problem with voice, is that unless I'm speaking directly to a student, I have a real problem coming up with the details... Something about that human connection that pulls it out of me, which is lacking in this format. Maybe I'll get a newbie, put them right behind the camera and speak to them while I'm working. Full speed example, kite and hands... Got it.
