  1. Alas, I'll be at Long Beach for the Northwest Sport Kite Championships. I miss Lincoln City! Ah well, I'll do the fall fest for sure. have fun! say hi to Ben!
  2. If you are calling a store, ask for the SUL rods that say "Professional Use Only", those are the two wrap ones.
  3. I myself have yet to run across a broken SLE rod. I'm sure people have done it, but, not that I've seen...so, they are pretty damn tough.
  4. Note : -both- bridle ties need to be fastened to the pair of vertical rods on each side, this may be your problem as I have run into 2 blasts so far where it was only attached on one vertical, each side. it'll make a huge difference to the control, promise.
  5. Ok, you can keep them, they show good taste in presents

    Next 'kite'

SLE rods will work fine in a Rev 1, though my preference is to only use them in very high winds, I kinda like the flex of the regular rods. My absolute fave combo, in the right wind, is a Rev 1 with the SUL ("professional use only") rods.
  7. *snicker* yes, well, they DO become a bit of a habit to accumulate. "oh, I have enough revs" "but, that one is just a little different..." I've owned most of them at one point or another. I liked the Supersonic for a while, and I did own a Shockwave up until last summer but, I tend to stick to 1.5s or 1s.
  8. I'll check him for grey hair and a developing paunch this weekend! "aging like a fine wine he is" wow, that icon looks a lot like him now!
  9. With a little luck, I may get some of mine up this evening, I'll post back here when I have. But, quite the fun festival it was!
  10. May want to avoid teaching me much more, I'm slowly getting into striking distance in competitions... One day, when you least expect it.... "monkeys pounce" and snatch that trophy away!
  11. Well, it'll flex a little more, which once you get used to it, can be a feature. Or, at least I feel it is. You, me, flying school, Berkeley!
  12. Leigh who? Oh wait, I know who this is. If you are getting a 1, get one with the regular leading edge over the SLE, you'll get better wind range out of.
  13. One thing to check that I have seen on Blasts a couple of times, the bridle attachs to BOTH of the vertical spars at the bottom.
  14. I'm liking this whole idea of seated flying
  15. Looked like it was a lot of fun! Wish I was there too
  16. Well, given I have six Rev 1s as it is... (2 sedgewicks, 2 "old school" in a stack, 1 vented and one ratty old thing I got in an auction recently) I'll bow out.
  17. Having met and flown with Audiorob, I'll vouch for his being a standup kinda good guy I'd happily fly with again. Not sure about his hair lately however. And also, yes, the last rev that I cleaned up went into a washing machine, on a light setting and a little soap. Bridle and frame were removed of course. Trust me, it was one dirty Rev 1 that looked like it'd been sitting in some coke (cola) for years. Now? Its hard to tell which one was the dirty one, they are both about the same :
  18. It's all mine because 1] I don't have enough Rev 1s 2] It'd perfectly match my vented 1
  19. Howsa about a 4 wrap center, 3 wrap edges on the leading edge and 2 wrap verticals?
  20. Yes, I'd take one for $200. , tempting me like that!
  21. I'll take one when they are ready :-)
  22. I'll certainly be out both days
  23. Welcome to the forum, and don't worry about language, I can guarantee you that your english is way better than my italian. I tend to use either 80 or 100 foot line sets, usually around 90 pounds. It works for nearly any wind. As for the kite, if the wind in your area is usually that low, I'd say go for the SUL one
  24. Wow, thats a sharp looking stack! I really grew to like 1.5s again while i was in europe after much time spent on 1s lately. Out of the 12 revs I took, my rainbow vented was what I used for 90% of the trip
  25. Who's that clown with the rainbow vented, his positioning sucks there! Oddly, despite my deep love of Rev1s, I spent nearly the entire on that vented 1.5 and loved it
